Experience wrap-induced transcension at Mama's Luncheonette - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This halal takeout counter in Cow Hollow does breakfast and lunch right. The menu of breakfast burritos, fresh juices, and arm-length chicken tikka masala wraps with a side of curry are hearty without sending you straight into a REM cycle. But the undisputed champ is the chicken caesar wrap. A stretchy tortilla is stuffed with tender lemon pepper chicken, romaine, and so much dressing you’ll get the stuff all over your cheeks with every bite. To experience wrap-induced transcension immediately, there are a few tables and benches on the sidewalk up for grabs. photo credit: Melissa Zink Food Rundown photo credit: Melissa Zink Chopped Caesar Wrap The chicken caesar wrap blueprint. Ordering this for a weekly lunch should be a city-mandated law. If your instinct is to stuff the accompanying chips into the wrap itself, follow your gut—the extra salty crunch will have you petitioning for a national CCW holiday. photo credit: Melissa Zink Mama’s Breakfast Burrito Not the plumpest breakfast burrito in town, but the thick slices of smoky brisket, smashed tater tots, pillowy scrambled eggs, and creamy avocado more than make up for it. This is only sold until 12pm, so plan accordingly. photo credit: Melissa Zink Chicken Tikka Masala Wrap This is the longest wrap on the menu, capable of doubling as a tee ball bat (though we prefer to just scarf it down). There’s a side of chicken tikka masala for pouring and dipping as you go, plus pickled turmeric cucumbers stuffed inside for a pleasant richness-cutting tang." - Julia Chen
