"At Bakery By Textbook, you can name your price for sourdough, because the Bed-Stuy spot believes that fresh bread should be affordable for everyone. That bread leans slightly dry, but it’ll still be exponentially better than anything you tried to bake during the pandemic. If you live in the area, keep the bakery in mind if you need to pick up a loaf or swing by on a morning stroll for a bacon, egg, and cheese on homemade focaccia, or crunchy espresso toffee cookies. Nothing will blow you away—except the blended tahini cold brew that’s a spitting image of the one over at Edith’s in Williamsburg—but it’s still a solid destination for a lazy weekend morning.
