"The Tribeca Juice Press smells like falafel, but no, the smoothie makers haven’t mastered the art of mashing and frying chickpeas. It’s just also home to Falafel Tanami, the second location of an Israeli restaurant in Midwood that's cranking out some very showy falafel. The balls are crispy-crunchy and dark brown on the outside, with a soft interior that's almost fully green from all the herbs mixed in. Get it wrapped in a spongy pita for $11, or for something even more substantial, try it in laffa for $15. We wouldn't recommend sitting at the few tables unless you're okay with smelling like freshly fried falafel for at least a week, so plan on taking your order to go. And if you need a green smoothie to wash it all down, well, you know where to go. Food Rundown Falafel Falafel Tanami does falafel, and they do it very well. You can get it in a pita, a laffa, a salad, or a plate, and all the options come with your choice of pickles, Israeli salad, hummus, cabbage, and tahini. You should get it all. And if you like spice, try the thick, chili-forward Spicy Sauce, and be prepared to sweat just a little." - Willa Moore
