"Peckham Levels is a food hall that can either feel full of life or completely soulless depending on when you visit (go in the evening for more of a buzz). But Senegalese stall Little Baobab and its hearty dishes bring enough soul to fill the entire floor of this ex-car park. The menu feels like it was made with curing a cold in mind: grilled chicken with caramelised onion and golden fish-filled pastries are tempting, but the lamb mafe—slow-cooked lamb in a peanut butter-heavy sauce—is the must-order. The sauce is thick, nutty, and comfortingly spicy, and it’s one of the most wholesome meals you can get in the area." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager, riaz phillips
