"Abanico isn’t going to win any awards for coffee of the year, or whatever prize is trendy nowadays, but not every cup of coffee has to change your life. That’s perfectly fine. The beans are good and some drinks might push you in a new direction, so on second thought, yes, this coffee might change your life. Abanico specializes in Salvadorean takes on coffee classics such as the cafe con morro and cafecito con espuma, adding sweet and nutty flairs to your daily coffee. They also serve up a variety of croissants from nearby Kahnfections that are worth a look. The space is pretty stark, so don’t expect to lug your laptop in and get some work done, or chat about life with a friend for hours. But if you’re on Mission Street searching for caffeine, this spot is worth popping into." - Ricky Rodriguez
