"If your first reaction to tweezer-plated fussy plates is an eye roll, not a bite, Dotty’s is your place. This straightforward diner serves mom and pop classics with no twists necessary. No reservations either, so expect to wait up to 45 minutes. Start with the "cheese and crackers," a tangy scoop of farmhouse cheddar pimento cheese alongside a pile of Ritz crackers, good enough to atone for the sins of your childhood Lunchables. The oeufs mayonnaise, perfectly medium-boiled eggs covered in thinned-out aioli and crunchy mustard seeds, lands between picnic egg salad and deviled eggs. Finish with the not-smashed medium rare cheeseburger, crisp and melty, and don’t skip the fries, soaked overnight in a baking soda and vinegar solution for perfectly golden, thick-cut potatoes paired with malt vinegar aioli (and Heinz, of course)." - Erin Hershberg
