Sammy's - Review - Adair Park - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"It should be no big shocker that a place called Sammy’s makes incredibly good sandwiches. And while you’re not swimming in choices, the six-option menu comes in clutch for a variety of situations. If a filling lunch is the game plan, the hearty Uncle Sam should be the move. It’s a buttery slider with so much smoked pork that it spills out the sides. On those days, when you want to stay light on your toes and nimble on your keyboard, Sammy’s comes through with free wifi and the Samigo—a turkey sub with lettuce, avocado, and fresh cilantro. There are even breakfast sandwiches (we arrived too late to try them, but we’re already planning a return trip). photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair Pause Unmute Plus, the Adair Park restaurant has a coffee shop feel that makes you want to hang out well after you’ve finished your reuben and zingy limeade. With real houseplants on every other table and a breezy atmosphere thanks to the open garage door walls, it’s also no big shocker that this place keeps a crowd of laptop-toting young professionals and chatty friends. Food Rundown Miami Sami Their take on a cubano uses a spicy-ish mayo and shredded pieces of smoked pork, which we like. Their bread comes a little over toasted), but everything else is top tier. photo credit: Juli Horsford Samigo This is the closest menu option to a pub sub. It comes on a soft hoagie with turkey, tomatoes, an avocado smear, and ranch with cilantro. Oh, the sandwich comes with a pile of lettuce so big it makes the bread look like croutons. This is the perfect order if you snag a table in the sun because it tastes like a light, summer picnic. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Uncle Sam These pork sliders come in orders of one or two. Though they’re fun-sized, the buttery buns are packed with lots of juicy smoked pork butt (you can’t take a bite without some falling onto your tray, or shirt depending on how you eat). The tangy pickles nicely cut through the sweetness of the BBQ sauce. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Samuel The best part about this take on a reuben is the slaw, which you can order separately as a side (and we did after tasting it). The finely chopped cabbage is mixed with mayo and fresh dill, which brings some refreshing spunk to the deli sandwich. The pastrami is thinly sliced, and there’s melty cheese that clings tightly to the toasted, buttery rye bread. Order this." - Juli Horsford
