"The old-school ‘cockney food bar’ in Poplar is a go-to for east London pie and mash. Everything is made on site and, unlike some pie and mash shops, we’re not inclined to drown the entire plate in malt vinegar. Pastry can lean a little inconsistent (either over or under) but that’s part of Maureen’s charm. The minced beef has got a pleasant pepperiness and the liquor is swimming in parsley.
