"If you go to Olmsted in Prospect Heights for small, seasonal plates in a backyard, you go to Patti Ann's—a casual, kid-friendly restaurant from the same team—for Midwestern comfort food. There's both a giant mozzarella stick and a giant blooming onion on the menu, as well as a smashburger, Chicago tavern-style pizza, and a cocktail list with a drink named Spirit Week. Essentially, it's a reliable neighborhood spot that can satisfy you and every member of your family. And if you don't have time to sit down, know that they have a bakery adjacent to the restaurant where you can pick up a gravlax sando on an everything cruller.
