"Deanie’s on Hayne is somewhere to get amazing seafood that’s half the price of the stuff you’ll find at touristy spots in the Quarter. The same can be said for their po’boys. The shrimp, oyster, and catfish sandwiches are some of the best in town, but our favorite is the stuffed crab. It’s adapted from an entree on their menu with Creole Italian crabmeat dressing that’s served in a hollowed-out shell, or sometimes in little aluminum crab-shaped tins. It’s slightly crispy from being under the broiler, and gets finished off with butter and seasoned bread crumbs. Now imagine that combo on French bread and dressed like a po’boy. The result is fantastic." - megan braden perry
