Anatolian Table is a great catch-all dinner spot - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Anatolian Table is the Mission’s catch-all restaurant. The Turkish spot on the crowd-magnet that is the corner of 18th and Valencia draws in a continuous stream of couples seeking a nice weeknight date, solo diners looking to spend some time with a glass of Greek wine at the bar, and sun-beaten post-Dolores groups. They're all here for anything coming out of the oven, from platters of lahmacun and buttery mantarli pide to house bread. Plus, it's walk-in-only and never too hard to snag a table, which is an advantage on Friday nights when everyone forgot to make plans. Just show up, put your name down, and be fine with the fact that you'll soon be at least 75% flatbread. photo credit: Monica Lo photo credit: Monica Lo photo credit: Monica Lo Pause Unmute Food Rundown Lahmacun The centerpiece on every table here. Order one to split and get rolling with the accompanying tomatoes and sumac onions. photo credit: Monica Lo Mantarli Pide Our favorite of the boat-like flatbreads. It’s got an earthy mix of mushrooms, gooey cheese, and a trail of za’atar. photo credit: Monica Lo Adana The minced lamb and beef kebab is smoky, charred, and arrives glistening in its juices. If you’re going to get a meat entree, get this. Chicken Brochette These chunks of chicken glide off the skewer with ease. Among the other just-fine chicken dishes in the city, this one stands out. Meze Combo A standard array of hummus, tzatziki, falafel, and much more. Nothing from the checkerboard of dips will really blow you away, but it’s good for a group. photo credit: Monica Lo Kasharli Beyti Appropriately saucy and topped off with pistachio dust. It’s a solid main that’s super easy to share. photo credit: Monica Lo Manti Each candy-sized dumpling comes with pinched edges and pleasantly chewy wrappers. We’re big fans of these. photo credit: Monica Lo" - Julia Chen
