American diner serving classic burgers, chicken sandwiches & shakes in a cozy, old-school space.
"If you regularly have dreams that you're eating a sandwich, while dressed in a sandwich costume and driving a sandwich car, go to WesBurger. This Mission spot has it all—smash burgers, regular burgers, and, of course, fried chicken sandwiches. We like the Southern-style with buttermilk chicken—extra crispy, as big as your face, and topped with red cabbage and miso aioli. Another thing you’ll probably dream about: their excellent Nashville hot chicken sandwich with mayo and pickles." - julia chen 1, lani conway
"Originally from Texas, Wes Rowe broke loose on the burger scene in 2013, running a wildly popular pop-up for a few years before moving into a prime spot on Mission at 18th. Then he threw out half of the menu and started mastering the art of the smash burger: thin, crispy patties on a pillowy potato bun. The single is a 3-ounce patty, inspired by the McDonald’s quarter pounder with cheese, and only costs $9. The double adds on shaved red onions and special sauce for $12." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff
"There are a lot of good reasons to go to Wesburger ‘n’ More—there's the old-school dining room that looks like a retro diner, the trays of mac-and-cheese with a crunchy-crumbed topping, to loaded tater tots with queso, caramelized onions, and bulgogi bacon. But those all come second to the excellent fried chicken sandwiches and burgers. The Southern-style buttermilk fried chicken sandwich is extra crispy, as big as your face, and topped with red cabbage and miso aioli. For something spicy, try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with mayo and pickles—if you want to go bun-less, there's also a salad version. As far the burgers, we love the Hot Wes with cheese and crispy fried onions on top as well as the Wes Smash Burger that comes with up to three juicy patties. "There are many compelling reasons to head to this Mission spot, which looks like a diner from the 1970s—from the mac and cheese to the fantastic fried chicken sandwich to the decadent tater tots topped with cheese, bulgogi bacon, and onions. But these are secondary to the burgers (and smashburgers). We’re into the Hot Wes full of cheese, pickled jalapeños, and crispy fried onions. " - Julia Chen 1, Lani Conway
"For a meaty meal, there’s hardly a better option than WesBurger’s perfectly simple smash burgers, which you can order for delivery on the restaurant’s website. A single Wes burger comes dressed with thinly sliced red onion, pickles, house-made special sauce, and a gooey slice of American cheese — though bigger eaters will likely need to double up on patties. Don’t forget a side of tater tots, which thanks to a hole punched in the top of the box, always arrived still hot and crispy." - Lauren Saria, Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff
