"Nearly every restaurant around Mount Desert Island has lobster on the menu—Maine is the center of the American Lobster Universe, after all—but this food cruise is an unmissable summer experience that lets you get in on the action. You’ll tour Frenchman Bay on board a vintage lobster boat before getting to haul traps yourself. The lobsters you catch are steamed right on the boat with a pot full of seawater and plump ears of corn, and the tour finishes with a simple feast on paper plates while moored in a calm inlet. The lobster itself tastes incredible (the secret, the captain says, is the seawater steam), and you’ll learn a ton about crustaceans and how Mainers fish for them in just a few short hours. And just when the day couldn’t be any better, you get a dense, hefty slice of blueberry pie for dessert." - Anne Cruz
