"Mestizo is a tiny coffee shop on Fountain in East Hollywood that does pastries, toasts, and acai bowls. You’ll order at the counter, and find space to eat on a high-top counter surrounded by people and their dogs who probably live nearby. The avocado toast is covered in chili flakes, which is the way that we like our avocado toast, and there’s an excellent ricotta toast with lots of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and mint on top." - Brett Keating
