"Heritage, like other BBQ spots, proves that brisket is the chameleon of smoked meats: great stuffed into a sandwich with pickles, piled on top of texas chili fries, or bursting out of tacos loaded with queso fresco. This is one of the places where sides like the potato salad and macaroni and cheese are also entree-sized (just a bit smaller than some of the tiny dogs you might see on the patio). Located off of Oceanside’s main stretch of South Coast Highway, their roomy booths and ample tables make this a solid spot for a company Happy Hour, and fewer things build trust than seeing your coworker’s face slathered in BBQ sauce." - Ligaya Malones
