The City Taqueria - Review - Lower Pacific Heights - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Lower Pacific Heights isn’t exactly known for its burrito population—you’re more likely to find wine bars or a certain famous kouign-amann—but The City Taqueria feels like a Mission transplant in the neighborhood. Whenever you’re north of Geary and need a prompt dosage of refried beans, the counter-service taqueria does the trick. Order the super burrito, with your choice of meat (if it’s a game-time decision, go carnitas). They can get a bit soggy as you’re eating, but for $15 they’ll fill you up. They also have baby burritos for less, along with tacos, quesadillas, and tortas. Plus, there’s plenty of seating in case you want to stay a while and make googly eyes at your foil-wrapped haul. Food Rundown Super Burrito You’re coming to The City Taqueria, you’re getting a super burrito. It’s fully loaded, to the point of being a little wet, but we’ve had worse problems. Carnitas Our go-to. A little crispy, a little tender, and well-dispersed throughout each bite. Al Pastor The al pastor here has a more braised texture than other versions shaved off the spit around town. But it’s still a decent option if you want a saucier meat." - Julia Chen
