"It only takes two sandwiches and two drinks to spend over $50 at Jholano’s Brickell location. It’s easier to justify the steep bill at their original location in Coral Gables—with its old-school deli charm and random yet relaxing outdoor terrace. Their Brickell location, however, earns zero points in charm. You’ll walk into the sterile building thinking you’ve made a wrong turn because surely there’s no way an exciting Italian sandwich can come from these lifeless concrete walls. The sandwich shop is inside a suite we suspect used to be a printing room in a previous life. The menu of roughly seven hot or cold focaccia sandwiches doesn’t have prices listed because the finance bros working here probably don’t mind dropping $20 for an OK capicola sandwich drowning in hot honey. It might be convenient for the folks who work in the building, but we’d still take the extra steps and dedicate our lunch budget to something at Tap." - Mariana Trabanino
