A Xing Shi Mu Yu

"This no-frills shop may lack glitzy décor but, for over 15 years, plenty of regulars have been coming here for its freshly slaughtered milkfish. Signatures include fried milkfish belly that boasts crispy skin and tender flesh. Milkfish soup is always served with braised pork rice everywhere in Tainan, but A Xing’s version comes with garlic rice instead. Fried fish intestines run out early in the morning. Come early or pre-order over the phone." - Michelin Inspector
