St. Petersburg
UNIQUE FABRIC
Clothing store · Novaya Gollandiya
"Unique Fabric, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. "Would you like some cooca with marshmallows?" is not a welcome you get in a typical shop in St. Petersburg, but this particular one is where magic happens. Women's clothes and accessories from Russian designers are exhibited in what looks like a spacious dressing room straight out of a British movie. You can hardly choose what to look at: the interior itself with its concrete finish and intricate tilework on the walls and floor draws attention from the subdued colors of the fabrics. There is some more tilework up on the ceiling: lift your head to see a soothing landscape with grazing livestock."

State Museum of the History of Religion
Museum · Novaya Gollandiya
"The State Museum of the history of religion, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. St. Petersburg is definitely a city of world religions. A synagogue, a mosque, and a Lamaistic temple can all be found on the same street (OK, this isn’t quite true). Here you can visit Orthodox, Catholic and Lutheran churches. Alternatively, you can visit the Museum of the History of Religion. Take an English audio guide and embark on a journey that'll take you all the way from shamanic beliefs to Protestantism. At the far end of the hall of the history of Russian Orthodoxy there are sneering anti-religious posters of the Soviet era, which make for a fascinating showpiece. Elderly museum attendants feel right at home amid the statues of philosophers and religious leaders. Ritual wheels that you can spin hang inside the hall of Buddhism, and a decorated elephant stands behind glass. Oh, and don't forget the meditation chamber, where you can take a rest in front of a 3D image of Sukhavati, the pure land of Amitābha."

Teplo
Restaurant · Novaya Gollandiya
"Teplo, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Teplo is the Russian word for "warmth". Warmth is what the residents of St. Petersburg often crave, and perhaps that's why they love this place so much. Judging by the impressive number of country flags on the map of Teplo customers, they are not alone. The restaurant has a homey vibe to it – there are familiar household items scattered everywhere and the walls are lined with photographs as if you were visiting a friend. The staff are extremely friendly and fluent in English. The food and desserts feel home-cooked, just like your grandma's pies. The place is not only suitable for children, it's like it's been designed for them — from little babies to their older siblings. Need another reason to drop by? Here you go: it's awfully nice to have a glass of wine sitting on a veranda with flowers and fairy lights all around you."

Taiga
Permanently Closed
"Taiga, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Taiga is a creative platform and space in Saint-Petersburg which brings together young professionals in creative fields for collaboration, creativity and useful work. During the last few years it brought together designers, architects, artists, advertisers, photographers, software solutions developers, producers. The founders of this project found a non-trivial solution, implementing the project in an old mansion with a view of the Peter and Paul Fortress. This building is located on Palace Embankment in the historical center of the city and was established in 1730 .Not only offices, small agencies and design shops with some handmade stuff like jewelry can be found here. There is a nice loft courtyard with wooden floors, stairs and lights. Here you can have a cup of coffee, buy a book about photography or design and moreover you can go to barbershop."

The State Russian Museum and Exhibition Centre ROSPHOTO
Museum · Novaya Gollandiya
"Rosphoto, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. The State Russian Museum and Exhibition Centre ROSPHOTO is located in a building designed in the National Romantic style (a form of Art Nouveau) and was established in 1905. Over the last few years, the centre has introduced a huge number of photographers to the public, and, furthermore, pieces of contemporary art closely connected with photography, including video-art, photographic installations, animation, and experimental cinema.Even if you aren’t keen on photography, the building itself is a must-see. On the facade there are majolica panels created by the well-known Russian painter Nikolai Roerich. In the lobby and on the staircase you can find reliefs and stained glass windows decorated with northern landscapes and animals. What’s more, every hall of the Museum has its own unique ceramic stove. In short, Rosphoto is a small museum which is permeated with the classical look of black-and-white photography."

Oh! Mumbai
Indian restaurant · Novaya Gollandiya
"Oh! Mumbai, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. The restaurant's interior is reminiscent of the train to Darjeeling: lights, flags and copper utensils everywhere. At least we believe that this is what a train to Darjeeling would look like – we have Wes Anderson to thank for the image. Anyway, Oh! Mumbai does look exceptionally authentic: the chefs know exactly which aromas are associated with their home country. We strongly recommend trying flatbread with lamb and curry soup — actual Indians come here for them, and they say it's just like in India. Where else can you try something like this? Well, of course, if you’re not in India itself."

Coffee Room Street
Cafe · Novaya Gollandiya
"Candies by Coffee Room, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. This cafe is perfect for your first breakfast in St. Petersburg. Just imagine: a variety of different chairs, a huge bowl of delicious porridge, a lilac mug with a polka dot pattern. A man with a broad accent is sitting next to you, surrounded by flowerpots: he orders scrambled eggs. It seems he is a regular here. Unlike in other coffee shops, where you’re at risk to catch diabetes from the sickly sweet decor and service, the number of ruffles is perfectly appropriate, and the waiters are moderately friendly. All of this is right on Gorokhovaya, 11. Oh, by the way: Candies, I’m Thankful for Today and Mickey&Monkeys (we wrote about them too) all belong to the same company -- kind of like friends with different interests but a common ideology. It boggles the mind how they manage all this."

Coffee 22
Cafe · Novaya Gollandiya
"Coffee 22, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Obviously, a macchiato, flat white or frappuccino are nothing new. Everyone has tried them: some have enjoyed these options, while others have decided it’s better to stick with a cappuccino. If you’re among the former, go straight to Kazanskaya 22 to find a buckwheat raf or green latte (that's tea, which looks a bit like a swamp in a mug) specifically for coffee aficionados. If you’re among the latter, you should still go to Kazanskaya 22, since classic coffee is also very good there, and the cappuccino in particular. Plus, you'll get the chance to see a moss panel covering an entire wall (we made sure you can touch it), a bar counter in the shape of a secretaire (we forgot to ask if anything was actually stored in the drawers), and a barista with a broad smile. A DJ mixer suggests that DJs play their sets here in the evening."

Bonch
Cafe · Novaya Gollandiya
"Bonch, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Have you ever wandered past hundreds of coffee shops, unable to decide on where to drop in? Each one offers the same wooden interiors, superior coffee varieties and large mugs, making it impossible to settle upon any of them. If you happen to be in this confused state, with your eyes seeking out originality and your heart longing for an opportunity to finally find a place to sit and relax, look no further. Come and sit at Bonch! This is the right kind of place: the windows are big, the interior delicate and subtle, and the English breakfast would satisfy the most severe hunger. The latter is particularly important, because you'll hardly end up on Bolshaya Morskaya street without a reason. You're most likely on your way towards Palace Square or St. Isaac's Cathedral. The Manege and the General Staff Building are also just around the corner. So make sure to fuel up! Don't forget to take a pistachio eclair with you, and there are also some bear stickers at the cashier's counter."

Surf Coffee
Coffee shop · Novaya Gollandiya
"Surf Coffee, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. You might come to this coffee shop on foot, but you might leave on a skateboard. Or longboard. Or surfboard. Or at least with the dream of a board. Here, it’s impossible not to dream of taking the double hawaiian and rolling off into the sunset. But remember: «Surfing never alone». By the way, it’s rumored that one time, in front of the shop, a polka-dotted, flower-festooned Volkswagen van was spotted, but disappeared just as suddenly. They are probably off somewhere now, chasing adventure."

Muzey-Kvartira Vladimira Vladimirovicha Nabokova
Museum · Novaya Gollandiya
"Nabokov museum, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. The Nabokov museum is actually the house where Vladimir Nabokov was born and lived until November 1917, when his entire family moved abroad because of the revolution. If you are anywhere near Bolshaya Morskaya, stop by the house number 47: on the way in, you’ll see a buzzing TV and concierge, who will show you the right door (due to constant repairs, the entire building is not open to the public). The wooden ceiling and walls in the living room contribute to a cave-like atmosphere. A grand piano and Nabokov’s butterfly collection are standing in the corner – you do know that Nabokov was a well-known amateur entomologist, right? Chat with the unassuming guide – he speaks English and is very knowledgeable about the writer’s family. On your way out, say goodbye to the concierge; she will probably let you go up to the third floor, to admire the glass windows (which Nabokov often described in his books) and an ungainly chandelier in the semi-darkness. While walking down the hall, take a glance in the mirror; it’s an incredible feeling! You’ll truly feel like it’s the very beginning of the 20th century and the masters of the house just left to winter in France."

Double B
Permanently Closed
"Double-b, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Double-b is a charming cafe with white brick walls and amazingly comfortable aqua-coloured armchairs and modern wooden furniture. The affable and friendly staff will offer you special drinks and classic desserts like cheesecake or chocolate cake. The menu is limited, but more than enough for coffee lovers, thanks to some unique recipes and flavors. Also, if you like the coffee, you can buy a bag of it and enjoy it at home. The original creamy coffee beverage with a citrus base called «citrus raf» and homemade crispy waffles is the best choice for Christmas time."

Ulitsa Yakubovicha, 1
Novaya Gollandiya
"Manege Museum, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Manege’s building underwent several radical reconstructions and was established as a museum since 1977. Yet the existence of Manege stayed unknown for young generation until 2016 when the museum had a grand reopening with a new conception and freshly rebuild interior. It is now exhibiting modern and contemporary arts from all over the world. The museum has no a main exposition but changes completely when hosting an external one. Check out what’s in there at manege.spb.ru before going."

Rockets & Bishops
Gastropub · Novaya Gollandiya
"Rockets & Bishops, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. If you can’t imagine having a juice burger without nifty craft beer you’re welcome to visit Rockets & Bishops at Gorokhovaya street, 26. 20 kinds of beer by local brewery Bakunin surrounded by minimalistic scandinavian interior would be the best place to spend evening in this area. Don't hesitate to try curious kinds of beer – salty or with tabasco – they are all top rated. If you are travelling alone sit at the bar and chat with bartenders they are open to it."

Mickey & Monkeys
Restaurant · Novaya Gollandiya
"Mickey&Monkeys, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. For those who adore modern loft interiors, red bricks and metal chandeliers «Mickey&Monkey» will be like seventh heaven. You would also appreciate sophisticated kitchen and trendy waitresses, who all look like they work part-time in a design studio. If you're not counting calories dare to try their special dessert, it's a seductive pyramid of everything that was banned by dietologists. But what do they know, right?"

embankment Riv Moyka, 43
Novaya Gollandiya
"The General Staff Building, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. Heritage museum is a well-known museum of old arts, conservative, ostentatious and also beautiful. Take one full day to study it (or more, we actually believe it's impossible to see everything there even in a week). Yet leave another day for the General Staff Building. It's a vast rounded building with a huge arch right in front of The Winter Palace on Dvortsovaya square. You won't miss it. Locals have a tendency to visit it more often then the main building which they were obliged to explore during middle school lessons. But here is another reason why: the best masterpieces of contemporary art is exposed there. No piles of sh*t on a floor, only acknowledged artists.Btw, why «The General Staff Building»? Because there is the Headquaters of Western Military District in the west wing, don't mix up the doors."

I'm Thankful for Today
Cocktail bar · Novaya Gollandiya
"I'm thankful for today, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. This bar is run by one of the most honorable company in the city – Coffee Room. These guys became a synonym of terrific food, admirable interiors and homely atmosphere. You’re lucky one if you’re traveling at summer time and can book a table at a window – they open them widely and you can eat and drink at a windowsill looking at Griboedova channel outside and catching some rays. This place is the best for talk at leisure with your friends."

Clean Plates Society Cafe
Cafe · Novaya Gollandiya
"Clean Plates Society, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. We have to admit Clean Plates Society the best name for this place. No food will remain on your plate. Delectable food and big portions in rather informal atmosphere are the reason why it's so hard to find a table in the evenings, better book it in advance. Menu offers european, american, indian and georgian cuisines which is interesting to mix up. And even if you're a meat lover consider vegetarian menu it was created by total pros!"

Drop in to Au Pont Rouge. 4 floors all packed with fashion clothes, shoes and accessories among fantastic interiors. Explore some russian designers on 3rd and 4th floors, it's something you won't find at your country."

Angleterre Hotel
Hotel · Novaya Gollandiya
"Angleterre, Admiralteyskaya by Nimax. In a country with no so prolific movie industry it's considered as a good taste to watch movies on it's original language and Angleterre is one of few places where you can do this. It also highly convenient for foreign visitors, who got tired of city's beautiness and want to kill some time or catch a premiere. You probably won't be able to enjoy last Marvel movie there, this theater is fond of deliberately picked sophisticated masterpieces of european and american movie directors. Sounds like your thing? Then came to a administrator in a tuxedo and ask him for tickets.Ah! We've forgotten to tell you that this cinema placed in a highly luxurious hotel with rich history. Take a seat in a red chair at the great marble hall while waiting a movie and feel the right mood."

Summer Garden

"Summer garden, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. An excellent place for a leisurely walk in the summer heat - in the garden there are many shady avenues along which statues of the ancient Roman gods are placed.Break is best done in a cafe on the bank of the Fontanka River. Sit back with cappuccino (it's excellent here) and greet tourists who are passing by on pleasure boats."

Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines

"Museumof Soviet arcade machines, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. These are the greetings from the past - the museum collected about 40 types of arcade machines, which replaced PacMan for the Soviet guys. Instead of tokens, they give you rare 15 kopek (soviet coins).Be sure to try the local sparkling water and try to knock down as many ships as possible in the "Sea Battle"."

"DLT/TSUM, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. The most beautiful shop-windows in the city are located here - their appearance reminds you something between disco performance and theater decorations. Here you’ll find Art Nouveau interiors, perfect service, and sky-high prices — great place for staring but not to for shopping!"

Lutheran Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul
Lutheran church · Novaya Gollandiya
"Petrikirche, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. Lutheran Church of Saints Peter and Paul(Petrikirche) with moderate architecture keeps the memory of the hard history of the German community in St. Petersburg: in the Soviet times there was a swimming pool right here. The bowl still exists beneath the floor of the main hall. The austere benches for parishioners are located around its centre. Under this bowl there is another layer of pain: the catacombs where women and children hid during the war. The walls have been covered with the paintings of an American impressionist artist."

Bolshaya Konyushennaya St, 14
Building · Novaya Gollandiya
"Bolshaya Konyushennaya street, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. Bolshaya Konyushennaya street begins at Nevskiy Prospect opposite to the building with three-store high shop-windows: since 1910s Mertens house has always been a place where clothes are sold - first it was a fur coats store (the coats were produced here as well), then it became a model house, now it hosts Zara store. As is customary, the Spanish holding treats the architecture and the interior of the building very carefully and preserves the outer and the inner adornments. At the beginning of the street you can usually see the musicians playing. However the locals rarely enter the street from this side: on both sides you can enter the promenade from the walk-through yards. The street is connected to Malaya Konyushennaya street by a number of ways leading through the German district. The Palace Square can be reached from here through the yards of the Capella the entrance to which is right behind the same-name signboard (into the arch next to the signboard). The street is very pleasant to walk - in the center it is divided by a walking promenade. Everywhere along the promenade and on the sides there are various points of attraction: Pyshechnaya (crumpets bakery), Bulthaup design gallery, Leningrad trade house (DLT), Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines, Peter Kirche."

"Singer House, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. Singer House is a building located at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and the Griboyedov Canal, directly opposite the Kazan Cathedral. It is called Singer house because the building was designed for the Russian branch of the Singer Sewing Machine Company initially, but house changed several owners after that. Is is also known as House of Books – the most famous bookstore in Saint Petersburg nowadays. On the second floor there is a Café Singer - a small cozy place with a beautiful view of the Nevsky Prospekt. The perfect plan is to book a table near the window for the evening time, to come and walk around the store and after that go to the café. On the upper floors of Singer House the office of Russia's largest social network VKontakte is located, but, unfortunately, there is no opportunity to get there."

Golitsyn Loft

"Golitsin loft, Nevsky Prospekt by Infographicsmag. This palace on the Fontanka embankment was known in XVIII century as a place where brothers Turgenev lived and where famous poetry meetings of "Arsamas" society took place. But this days there is a creative project "Galitsin loft", which is, perhaps, the largest scale loft project in St. Petersburg. It saved amazing interior design of that time, with its fireplaces, huge windows and 5 meter high ceiling. The entire cluster is made up of 5 buildings and a large yard. There you can in a cozy Georgian restaurant or have a breakfast in a coffee place «Civil», eat the most delicious curd pancakes in town with the best view on the river and circus. Or you can come here for shopping in the local designer's showroom and then have glass of wine in the restaurant "Treska". Or work with a laptop in a comfortable time-cafe.
