"Bitar's, Passyunk by P'unk Avenue. It is not commonly known that 10th & Federal in South Philadelphia was the center of one of the largest Lebanese communities in the entire United States. Embedded within the more well know Italian community, the Lebanese community created businesses, a church, and many other institutions to support itself. Bitar’s is one of those institutions. Finer Lebanese food would be harder to find anywhere in Philadelphia. The baba ganoush is particularly delightful, but anything on the menu is worth trying (hummus, gyro, etc). Make sure to give the Angelo Cataladi sandwich a try. It is the perfect marriage of Lebanese meets Italian in a pita."
