Introduced in 2016 as a series of tree-lined, plant-filled thoroughfares across Medellín, these ‘green corridors’ weave vegetation through the concrete streets. They are highlighted as an innovative way the city has brought nature into the metropolis, and in their first three years they decreased the city’s average daily temperature by 2C, helping to cool down the ‘city of eternal spring’ while giving residents more shaded, natural spaces. - Liv Kelly
