Set in Hamburg’s HafenCity district, this upcoming UBS Digital Art Museum will occupy a purpose-built, 6,500-square-metre space with 12-metre-high ceilings designed specifically for large-scale immersive works, with teamLab Borderless as the focal exhibition. Inside, hundreds of projectors and loads of state-of-the-art tech are used to transform the galleries into ‘living canvases’, where hanging lights form digital forests and blooming flowers and tumbling waterfalls respond in real time to the movements of visitors. Rather than simply wandering through rooms of pretty lights and quirky projections, people actually become part of the display, creating a much more interactive and sensory experience, and tickets for the Hamburg museum are already on sale. - Liv Kelly
