"Inside CapitaSpring's lobby I discovered teamLab's permanent interactive installation, Proliferating Immense Life – Sunrise and Sunset, A Whole Year per Year: a nearly 18 m–tall (almost six levels) screen that displays photos of seasonal flowers and reacts to people's movements—when it detects passersby, butterflies and flowers scatter, and when the elevator door opens the butterflies fly away. teamLab says the imagery is not pre-recorded but continuously rendered in real time and synchronized with Singapore's actual time and season, so the artwork brightens as the sun rises and darkens as the sun sets; the flowers change every month to showcase seasonal blooms, including Singapore's national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim. CapitaSpring itself is a 51-storey CBD skyscraper planning to unveil a rooftop garden to complete its scheme of featuring more than 80,000 plants from about 130 species across the building, and is located at 88 Market Street. teamLab, which transformed a 16th-century castle in 2019 and has shown works in Singapore and worldwide, created this lobby piece." - James P.
