"Apart from being Albert Einstein’s birthplace, Ulm is best known as the home of the world’s highest cathedral steeple. Downriver along the Danube is the city’s largest park, home to a singular hotel that sits prettily on the edge of a natural lake. Though the setting is bucolic for an urban hotel, LAGO hotel&restaurant am See is hardly rustic. Its modernist architecture, with its clean lines and bright, open spaces, was influenced by the Ulm School of Design — a progressive institution shuttered in 1968 — whose students were directly involved in the plans for the fifth floor." - Tablet Hotels
