"Many of Lake Como’s hotels are palatial villas or neoclassical mansions, but Filario Hotel & Residences is housed in a former wire factory that’s been cleverly recycled into a luxury hotel with an infinity pool and a private beach. Industrial-chic is the style, all cool stone and glass that lets in abundant natural sunlight, as well as views of the lake. Guest rooms are elegant and minimalist, with natural wood paneling, white linens, slate bathrooms, and a private terrace facing the water. There’s a beachfront bar and bistro adjacent to a lounge area with four-poster daybeds, and a more formal restaurant has terrace seating.
