"Sitting just a 15-minute drive away from Porto, the Pestana Douro Riverside feels like a seaside resort hotel while still offering easy access to city life. Housed inside a former 19th century factory, the hotel bears little resemblance to its industrial past, although each floor is dedicated to a fragrant flower such as lavender, rose and lily as an homage to the scented soaps and candles that were once made here. Bright white rooms are livened up with floral artworks and pops of yellow and blue, and all come with a balcony, and most with a view of the Douro River that runs right outside.
