"Elsewhere in America the word “aurora” is strictly metaphorical, but at Aurora Villa, it’s entirely literal — here, at the end of a country road a half-hour from Fairbanks, in the Alaskan interior, the Northern Lights are a regular feature of the night sky. (For better viewing, the hotel’s lights go out at ten o’clock, and there’s very little ambient light in the surrounding area.)
