Amtrak Is Expanding Its Service Between Minneapolis and Chicago
"Launching May 21, this new daily train will add a second travel option between St. Paul and Chicago via Milwaukee, with afternoon departures from St. Paul and late-morning departures from Chicago. Tickets start around $41 for coach, and the entire trip takes just under seven and a half hours, following the Empire Builder stops between St. Paul and Milwaukee and the Hiawatha stops between Milwaukee and Chicago — including several Wisconsin stops such as Wisconsin Dells. Trains feature coach and business-class seating, a café car with regional items, and scenic views of the Mississippi River between St. Paul and La Crosse.
