"Tucked down a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it backstreet, this hip, honey-hued hangout in the Psirri area occupies a former textiles factory and leans into a lovingly cultivated ‘shabby chic’ mood, with peeling paint and exposed steel woven into an elegant but deceptively effortless design that you immediately want to take home. Imagined by Greek creative studio House of Shila as a living, ever-evolving home where art, craft, and design are softly woven into each space, the rooms are filled with bespoke creations, commissioned pieces, and one-of-a-kind finds from Athenian antique stores. The shoppable element is exhaustive: everything from custom-knit rugs and exotic plants to organic cotton sheets and signature gauze curtains can be bought. Rooms often feature jewelry by heritage-rich Athens brand Hermina and bespoke clothing made in collaboration with interior designer Spyros Goudelis, while artworks such as photographic works by Eftihia Stefanidi, Martina Matencio, Maxime Ballesteros, and paintings by Archer Defterios and others are integral to the space, designed to be lived with and perhaps carried into a new home. Helmed by entrepreneur Shai Antebi and photographer Eftihia Stefanidi, the hotel acts as a physical stage for House of Shila’s network, giving local artists and makers a global audience through its deeply immersive interiors." - Stephanie Gavan
