In the ashes of the old Portofino space arose Bar Ti Amo, created by the same owners as Antica Posta--except that Bar Ti Amo has meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Went here for a Sunday brunch and had quite a delectable meal. Started off with the uova al pomodoro...think of this as the Italian version of shakshuka, except that the sauce is a bit spicier (but not excessively so). There are no vegetables...just eggs and tomato sauce, but it was quite tasty nonetheless. Note that the Italian version of these eggs was a bit on the runnier side, but that's totally normal in this context, i.e., don't worry if they seem somewhat uncooked, even for sunny side up. Separately, we also got the lenticchie e spinaci (lentils and spinach). I thought it would be roughly 50/50 between the two, but in reality, it was more like 95% lentils and 5% spinach. In this case, it didn't really matter because they were absolutely delicious...just make sure you have someone else who can share the lentils with you. We also got the melanzane alla parmigiana, which was sumptuous because the eggplant was soft to the point where it almost melted in your mouth. It was one of the better eggplant parmigianas that I've had. And lastly, we topped it all off with an Italian chocolate cake, comprised of three layers along with some chocolate cream and strawberries on the side. Satisfying end to the meal.
I should also point out the uniqueness of the venue. There are a variety of spaces here catering to different preferences and requirements...for example, a private room in the back, a bar area, part of which faces the outdoor section (almost like a modern indoor patio), and part of which is more of a pure upscale bar feel. There's also a portion of the dining area with dark green chairs...and also a stunning outdoor/indoor patio with orange and white decor. Pick your desired spot!
Service was excellent and remarkably patient when addressing all our questions about the menu. Definitely pick the server's brain when thinking about how you want to mix and match.
