"There’s nothing more welcoming on a Sunday morning than the sight of Héctor Ramírez’s modified pizza oven, as he removes baking sheets full of blistered slabs of birria tatemada de chivo, or oven-roasted goat birria. Ramírez’s recipe comes from the northwestern highlands of Jalisco. Tender, charred goat birria comes in tangy consomé, or separately to make your own tacos with corn tortillas. Slurp the meat stock separately, and for a dollar more, get the maciza, the connoisseur's choice — a meaty, juicy boneless cut from the leg." - Bill Esparza

"Full transparency—not much will get us out of bed before 8am on a weekend. This goat birria tatemada is a major exception. Birrieria El Jaliscenece is a weekend-only goat roast that sets up at the corner of Olympic Blvd. and Spence St. in Boyle Heights. You don't have to be a morning person to feel excited to be here, especially once you get a whiff of the Jalisco-style chivo sweating inside the oven. El Jalisciense has a two-stage cooking process that's responsible for this birria's silky, fatty meat and wonderfully crackly skin (enjoy it with either fresh tortillas or as a taco dorado). This place only stays open until they run out, so come get it while it's hot. Cash only." - Sylvio Martins

"This busy Boyle Heights street stand down the way from Tacos Y Birria La Unica sells out often, so look for the large birria de chivo banner when arriving early." - Farley Elliott

The birria is delicious but u have to be there early because it is so delicious that it finished really quick. Prices compare with other places are not bad at all and it is really worth it to be there on time. The salsa rroja flavor is a little spicy but it have a really good flavor that is hard to stop eating it. and the consome flavor is not far behind it only needs a little lemon and you will enjoy it but if you go for a little cilantro a d onion in it it will be amazing

Really delicious. I'm glad we got to stop by here when we did. There was a line up but it didn't take too long to get our food. They hand you a number and you wait up front for your food. A simple table and seating set up for eating outside under a couple portable gazebos.

Some of the best birria in LA hands down, la birria de chivo (goat) is just amazing here. They make tortillas freshly big plus for me. Prices are really good, you pay about $20 for an order that can feed 2-3 people . I am a big guy and love to eat, so its amazing…. You gotta try this spot

Visited this spot for the first time. Me and my husband Drove from Bakersfield, CA, just to try it. It was worth the drive. Great birria and consome. We are looking forward taking another drive just to eat their soon. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone. Great food.
