San Francisco Restaurants With the Best Views | Eater SF

"Hailing from Huntington Beach Pier, this is the restaurant many fans know for its caviar-topped lobster rolls, a mega-hit on Instagram feeds everywhere. Perched just above Barrio in Ghirardelli Square, a Mexican restaurant with majestic views in its own right, this newcomer is a must-try for lovingly long stares out over the San Francisco Bay. Online ordering is an option for those looking to take their caviar hot dog on the road." - Paolo Bicchieri

Here Are the Hottest New Restaurants in San Francisco, July 2024

"Climb to the top of Ghirardelli Square to slurp oysters and crack into fresh Dungeness crab at this Southern California-born seafood restaurant. The San Francisco location is Broad Street’s first expansion up north and the dining room feels like stepping onto an actual boat — with impressive views of the water below. The must-order item? A warm, buttery lobster roll, which can upgraded with add-ons including caviar and uni." - Dianne de Guzman, Lauren Saria

Broad Street Oyster Co. Review - Fisherman's Wharf - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The view of the Balclutha and the Bay from Broad Street Oyster Co. might be stunning, but it’s not enough to remedy that a meal here is an overpriced and underwhelming tourist trap. This is an LA mini-chain transplant, and we should have known they were doomed the second they chose to open their first SF location in Ghirardelli Square. The lobster roll has a meat-to-bread ratio that’s straight-up sad—you’ll have enough leftover bread to feed the sea lions at Pier 39. The oysters are tiny and extra briny, and the $42 cioppino tastes like Ragu and is coated in a sneeze-inducing amount of celery salt. Even the burger, which is surprisingly the second-best thing on the menu, is better at the In-N-Out two steps away (where it’s a quarter of the price). But if your second cousin drags you here, ordering the excellent thick fries and a beer is the way to go—it’s the only thing that can successfully drown out all the influencers endlessly peddling lobster rolls." - Ricky Rodriguez

Best Dishes Eater SF Editors Ate This Week: April 1 - Eater SF

"Broad Street Oyster Co., based in Southern California, opened its first Bay Area outpost on March 27. The menu is a seafood lover's dream with options like whole Dungeness crab, seafood towers, fish and chips, and cioppino. The 'world famous lobster roll' holds up to the hype, especially when upgraded with uni and caviar. The combination of butter-soaked lobster, sweet uni, and briny caviar is a standout, despite the high price tag. The restaurant offers a flashy space with substantial dishes underneath the style." - Lauren Saria

I stopped here for lunch and ordered the warm lobster roll. They have the option to get it cold with mayo or warm with butter. The warm with butter was good. Small roll and pricey with no sides. My son had the burger and fries and he enjoyed that. Overall food was decent. The restaurant offers a nice view of the ocean.

Google
The open-space design offers a truly breathtaking view; the panoramic vista is simply stunning and provides a perfect backdrop for any meal or gathering. The staff made every interaction feel genuinely warm, with a friendly professionalism that made us feel right at home. The lobster roll, a signature piece, is a brilliant choice for very good reason. The option to have it warm or cold is a brilliant touch, catering to individual preferences, and it's nestled in a wonderfully toasted bun.

Very delicious food at affordable prices and amazing views. The lobster roll with hot butter rocked. The baja fish tacos, clam chowder and oysters were decorous and the staff extremely knowledgeable.

Google
The food looks great but it didn’t taste good. The clam chowder was mid, the lobster rolls were dry and bland, the fries was meh, the only good thing was the service. It made sense why it was empty. We ate there with no other customer, we left and they didn’t have a single customer. It’s such a shame cause they had a pretty good menu but the food just wasn’t hitting it, it’s below mid. All I can say is it’s they’re edible but I would not come back again. It’s such a shame cause the staff were all nice.

Google
Food was amazing!!!!! We ordered warm lobster rolls with butter and fried shrimp. The roll was so delicious and fresh. The mayo on the side was phenomenal!!!! We’ll be back! Don’t go to two cousins on the wharf they have the worst driest lobster rolls ever.

Google
After a so so experience from an establishment off the corner of Taylor St. and Jefferson St for lobster roll and oysters we found Broad Street Oyster Co. and boy let me tell you OUT STANDING! Nice big pieces of lobster on a butter roll and their oysters are so crisp and clean. You have to come to this place first. Very friendly staff as well. Wish we had came here first!!

Google
Dining at Broad Street Oyster Company was one of the best decisions we ever had. If you’re ever in the mood for some fresh fish sandwiches or oysters, this is the place to go! Their fish sandwiches are their newest menu addition and the most delicious and perfectly fried fish I’ve ever tried. Their chips and caviar were also to die for and we couldn’t seem to stop eating them ! Definitely recommend stopping by this restaurant if you’re in the area! Service was amazing and vibes were great !

We had a great meal at Broad Street Oyster Company. We loved the Lobster Roll, the Oysters and the Clam Chowder. Overall a great restaurant with great views and a unique vibe.

Yelp
Lobster roll with butter was amazing highly recommend. Oysters were very fresh also. We will definitely be going back.

Yelp
They BLEW IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! There was so much lobster in our rolls and the fries were perfectly salted and crispy. Hands down one of the best lobster rolls we have ever had. And the view was just an added bonus.

Yelp
I have sworn for years this is the best lobster roll in Southern California, and happy to now say up north too! I lived in LA for many years and was a frequent regular to the Malibu location. Some days for just a beer and oysters, others crudo and catch of the day, sometimes butter lobster roll and sometimes cold with mayo. Everything is absolutely outstanding and the staff is not shy of this either. I've always had an exceptional experience, even if there happens to be a line! Please go check this new spot out in Ghirardelli square. You will not be disappointment. Always so friendly and fresh!

Yelp
I visited this spot recently for some oysters and drinks. The oysters were fresh and delicious. They were a real highlight and definitely worth trying if you're a fan of oysters. We also ordered the uni pasta, but unfortunately, it was too fishy for my taste. On the other hand, their Michelada was fantastic--refreshing, flavorful, and just the right level of spice. It paired perfectly with the seafood. The service was excellent; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. Despite being a Saturday afternoon, the place was surprisingly empty, so we didn't have to wait for a table, which was a nice bonus. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend stopping by for the oysters and Michelada if you're in the area.

Yelp
The food was good. The mushroom roll was really tasty, though I would've liked a little more filling. The coleslaw was ok, needed some more seasoning. The burgers were very good. The fries were super crisp and well seasoned. The aesthetic was cute, fitting for the food. We enjoyed it all. It was a bit expensive but to be expected in the area. Service was relatively quick. We liked having burgers and seafood options in one place.

Yelp
Finally made it here! Delicious! Lobster, soft shell crab, and oysters, what more can a seafood lover ask for? What we ordered: Lobster roll: Delicious! I was happy to see that they gave us a good amount of lobster meat that was fresh. Only sad part is that they didn't have uni, so I'll have to return and try again. softshell crab sandwich: great and balanced well with Cole slaw. fries: aoili was yummy with the fries Oysters: fresh! Crudo: probably the only dish I didn't love. It was good, but the sauce and quality didn't bring out the flavors as much. Otherwise this place is self-seating. It's larger than I expected and also less crowded than I expected! Staff was friendly. There's some good window views as well. Great spot for those seafood lovers craving a good lobster roll for a good price given the quantity.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday around 2pm with three other friends. The the restaurant wasn't too busy so I was able to place an order at the counter and find a seat fairly quickly. Food: Clam chowder- generous portion size, texture was thick, chowder was creamy with lots of chunks of potatoes and clams but extremely salty I could not finish the bowl. A bit too thick in texture for my taste, liked the fried clam garnish, served with oyster crackers but wish there was bread to help cut the saltiness. Butter lobster roll - tried a bite of my friends, good amount of lobster that tasted pretty fresh, bun was soft and fluffy with a nice griddle, lightly seasoned Fries- were good a medium sized thickness, crispy, slightly greasy, served with old bay aioli which was a nice twist and ketchup Service was good, friendly and efficient, paid with inkind app and didn't have any issues food arrived after a short weight. Overall really like the atmosphere of the restaurant, clam chowder needed some work but other items are okay. If you do visit stick with the lobster roll.

Yelp
Pleasant counter service, with staff going out of their way to provide exceptional customer service (they have "serve yourself" water, server offered to get water for us). Unbeatable view from the dining room. Watch container ships coming into port or view Alcatraz from the comfort of the dining room. Lobster roll had plenty of lobster meat in it and roll was expertly toasted. I chose melted butter but they also offer mayonnaise if that's what you prefer. I found the lobster was slightly overcooked but overall a very tasty dish. We wanted just a small side Caesar salad but were disappointed to learn they only offer the entree-sized Caesar. We got it anyway and it was delightful. Came well dressed with a perfect amount of fresh Parmesan and also had shaved anchovies - ew, so fancy! Really great salad - I'd get this again for sure, but probably opt for the crab Caesar salad next tim

Yelp
So we walked into the Ghirardelli Square, hoping for two things: goodies (from Yelp's Juneteenth Fest) and then some fresh n' tasty seafood in my mouth! I copped the Yelp gear and browsed around the cool vendors, but I really came here for the fish! So inside we went. This place reminds me of a casual version of Mel's Drive-Inn, but for the fisher dudes. The view through the window, overlooking the waters is too purty. My favorites parts of this place is the trophy shark's head and the Broad Street Oyster logo behind the seafood bar. The Broad Street logo somehow reminds me of that old cartoon from The Jetsons. Broad Street Oyster Co. has been making some waves (pun intended) since opening and I knew that I had to try it out for myself. Of course, in the many many reels I've seen, I was tempted to scarf down a Seafood Tower, the Lobster Roll, and even some Caviar on the side. Still, I'm a fried-food connoisseur and I just had to taste trial Broad Street's Fish n' Chips. For some odd reason, I was immediately impressed by the shallow bowls which the Fish n' Chips were served in. The bowls had the look of a Dixie Ultra quality paper plate, but upon the touch, these bowls were composed of a featherweight, yet durable ceramic. The service here was fast, friendly and professional. It just seemed like a clean and healthy work environment for its workers to enjoy and thrive in. As for the fish, the presentation was as expected. The fish was a beautiful golden-brown hunk of crispiness laying on top of golden yella' taters. The lemon zest added a nice touch to the fish as well. Paired with the Fish N' Chips was a small dollop of Broad Street's Tartar Sauce. This was a simple dish, yet the quality of everything (even the tartar sauce) spoke volumes. The fries were no ordinary tasting fries. The tartar sauce...with just a tip of the fry dipped inside...blew my mind! I've had my share of fish and chips in California, but Broad Street prepared such a simple dish into something refreshing for me. Normally, I don't like it when fish falls apart, but even though mine tender fish slab was flaking.....it tasted so fresh I just didn't care anymore. I was really hoping to get at least two fishies at its price point, but it's a fair deal for the quality you get in return. Next time I come here I'm requesting for a minimum of four (4) dollops of tartar sauce!!!! It's that amazing!!! 4.8 out of 5!

Yelp
First off, service was good, no complaints at all there. The place has a nice view when the sun comes out, and has a clean and modern vibe on the inside I ordered the Baja tacos, added avocado for $3. When they first arrived I was actually scared because I couldn't see the fish. Setting myself up for disappointment, I actually was proven wrong, the fish portion was pretty good and tasted good too! The slaw on top was spiced so added a great kick. Due to so much slaw my avo was kinda falling out though so it will get a little messy. Even with the good flavour, there's no way I can justify this costing around 28 dollars with tax and tip. This is a tourist area and you're about to get gouged if you eat here. Will not be back with better, cheaper alternatives about the city

Yelp
Absolutely lived up to the hype. Situated right in Ghirardelli Square, Broad Street Oyster is the perfect place to enjoy some sun and a fresh, delicious lobster roll with friends and family. If you're feeling extra fancy, this is also one of the only places in the city where you can add uni and caviar to your lobster roll (for an extra fee of course). As a first timer, I decided to go all out and ordered a cold lobster roll with the uni and caviar add-ons. The total for that lobster roll came out to be about $60, but was it worth it? I would say if you should choose between the uni and caviar, I would opt for the caviar and not the uni. Don't get me wrong, the uni was fresh, and taking a piece to eat alone, I could taste the creaminess. However, eaten with the lobster roll, the taste of the lobster bread, and everything else overpowered the subtle taste of the uni -- couldn't even taste it was there. Next time, I'll leave the uni out of my roll and just enjoy it with the caviar. I also ordered a seafood tower with my friends, and everything that came with it was delicious. Perfectly sharable for 2-3 people. Overall would come back again. The quality and taste were amazing, but definitely pricey and more of an indulgence than a necessity.

Yelp
While I'm happy the Bay has some new vibey oyster places, Broad St was unfortunately not up to par with what I had expected with all the hype that's associated with it. The location is prime foot-traffic. Right in front of the fountain nearby the Ghirardelli entrance. Spacious interior with a second floor, bright yellow and teal color scheme, lots of great lighting. It's undeniably cute. But like a Kardashian, what it lacks in personality its making up for in cargo space. (White Collar reference for those that know) The place was bare as the neighboring sea on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. There was only one table eating besides us in the entire restaurant. There's no table service. You order at the counter, take a number, and the food gets dropped off to you. There lacks a personal touch that's associated with shellfish and seafood eateries. All very transactional by design here. The staff don't look like they want to be there either, waiting for time to pass. Strange ambiance. Onto the food. We ordered a beer, a Michelada, a dozen oysters, the soft-shelled crab sando, the sea urchin pasta, and the famous lobster roll topped with caviar. They didn't have uni yesterday. The oysters were magnificent and are the only things saving this review. The Salt Bay oysters from Nova Scotia were some of the sweetest and silky oysters I've ever had, now a favorite for me. The Brunswick oysters were very tasty as well. The mignonette was super sour. They need to fix their ratios there to balance it out. The soft-shelled crab sandwich was not great. I ended up scrapping half the bun and slaw. The bun is waxy and bland, the slaw was super watery and sour making the crab soggy. The batter for the crab was boring, nothing special here. Skip it. The sea urchin pasta was the blandest pasta I've ever had. I took two bites and knew I had to box it up to fix at home. Missed all notes -- not enough salt, fat, acid, heat, aromatics, etc. Skip it. Onto the pièce de résistance -- the lobster roll. It's beautiful. One of the prettiest lobster rolls I've seen. However, the bun was dry and disappointing. The lobster didn't taste like anything special. I ordered it warm and buttery, but it was neither warm nor buttery. Caviar was tasty. If you need something to eat along with your oysters, this isn't a bad option, but I'd skip it next time. I really wanted to love this place, but I can't see myself coming back. If I were to return, I'd order a dozen oysters and call it a day. There's better options in the City at the same price point.

Yelp
Food quality is immaculate! Chef's kiss for sure! I ordered the Lobster Roll Warm w/ Butter (the other option is Chilled w/ Mayo). I also got to try a bit of other dishes such as the Sea Urchin Spaghetti and the Fish and Chips. I would recommend all of the dishes listed above. All of them tasted fresh and delicious. The restaurant was somewhat full but service was still fast (food came out ~10 min after sitting down). I only knocked out one star because the portions are so miniscule! I can't complain about the fish and chips serving though. It was decent. However, the lobster roll is only about 5" and it doesn't come with a side. The spaghetti was only ~15 oz. Do NOT come here if you are super hungry lol

Yelp
A Reasonably Fresh Bite at Broad Street Oyster Co. With a new prime location in the iconic Ghirardelli Square, the SoCal chain Broad Street Oyster Co. seemed like the perfect spot to indulge in some classic seafood fare on a crisp San Francisco afternoon. While the experience didn't quite live up to lofty expectations, there were still some bright spots worth highlighting. The main order was the lobster roll, a time-honored New England delicacy. I opted for the hot, buttery version because frankly, what's more decadent than lobster drenched in liquid fat? Upon that first anticipatory bite, it was...just okay. The lobster itself was fresh and sweet, but the overall roll lacked that transcendent, crave-worthy quality. A few more liberal dashes of butter may have elevated it. At just six modest bites for nearly $30, it's a bit of a stretch to call this a "roll" - more like lobster-loaded hor d'oeuvres at those prices. Not quite worth it for the portion size in my opinion. However, what really shone through was the warm, attentive service from the staff. Despite the touristy location, I was treated with genuine friendliness and care, instantly making me feel at home in this laidback seafood shack. While the lobster roll fell a bit flat, I'd potentially return to sample Broad Street's fresh oyster varieties which looked impeccable on the plates of nearby diners. There's something to be said for indulging in briny, freshly shucked bivalves while soaking in the iconic Ghirardelli ambiance. All in all, Broad Street Oyster Co. is a reasonably fresh, if imperfect, addition to the Ghirardelli Square dining scene. The misses on the lobster roll are overshadowed by the warm hospitality and prime location for taking in bay area sights and sounds. Just be prepared for premium pricing that may or may not match the execution. I'm still inclined to give their raw bar a go on a future oyster craving.

Yelp
Nice and warm day and had a weekday off. Decided to head down here to try the lobster roll and enjoy the warm vibes. To be fair, the last time I had a lobster roll was months ago at New England Lobster Company in Burlingame near the SF airport. That along with Woodhouse Fish Co. would be the places I go to for a good lobster roll. Love the booth and aesthetics of this place and how you can watch the making of your seafood plates of deliciousness. Caviar (snack)- love the taste on fresh hot chips and a dab of the crem franchise. Simply indulgent. Linguine w/ clams- Was surprised at how good it was and it was my first time trying it Lobster roll- good sized lobster roll with nice and fresh chunks of lobster. I added the uni but it definitely is very good on its own. The bread used was warm and rightly buttery. Not too expensive but definitely not cheap at 27 dollars! Service was fast and quick. I will definitely return to try the lobster roll cold. Think this is a great place for locals and tourists alike. Parking can be found but not as easily. Great addition to the Wharf area and another place in SF to that yourself to a nice lobster roll!

Yelp
Would give 3.5 stars if I could. The lobster roll was amazing -- Totally understand why Broad Street is known for it. We got ours warm with butter, and it was crispy, juicy, buttery, so great! Other than that, the oysters and sea urchin pasta did not justify the price in my opinion. The view overlooking Ghirardelli Square is quite nice, so overall not a bad experience.

Yelp
Came in for late lunch early dinner on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy. You place your order at the counter once you walk in, pay for it, they give you a # and go find an open table. We were able to grub a table in front of the window with great view of the Bay. Customer service was excellent. We ordered: (6) Oysters for $26.00, the oysters were fresh but wasn't worth the money. We can get that cheaper at Hog Island Oysters at the Ferry Building & you can choose 3 different types. The Clam Chowder ($14.00) for a bowl, was pretty good and it came with some fried clams as well, never seen that before but it was good. The Chilled Lobster Roll ($27.00) with Mayo was pretty fresh and tasty. The Steamed Mussels ($33.00) with White Wine Broth and (2) slices of Sourdough Bread was very good, the broth with the bread was excellent. Overall the seafood here is fresh and good. BUT for what you spend you can get the same quality seafood with larger portions from Hog Island at the Ferry Building, New England Lobster House in San Mateo, Anchor Oyster Bar on Castro St. That is the reason why I only gave them a 3 Star review. ***PORTIONS ARE VERY SMALL!!!!***

Yelp
Being a seafood connoisseur, this restaurant has been on my to do list for quite some time now and I finally had an opportunity to go recently. Overall, it did not disappoint! This was one of those places you have to order at the front first before being seated. The front staff was very friendly when she told us they were out of fresh uni, which was a bummer, but they would still be able to make the uni pasta. We ordered that along with the warm lobster roll, the daily crudo and a small caviar tasting. We beat the tourist lunch crowd so after we ordered we were able to sit down right away and got a beautiful view of the bay and Treasure Island right in front of us. The vibe is old school diner and we were loving it. It was also clean and bright from all the windows facing the water. Once the food arrived we dug in right away because we were excited and hungry. Everything was delicious. The crudo was super fresh and tasty as a starter, the lobster roll was delicately seasoned with the warm butter, fries fried perfectly, and the caviar and crème fraiche was a decadent addition to everything. Unfortunately, the only thing we didn't like was the uni pasta. It was bitter! Overwhelmingly so. Is it supposed to taste like that? We didn't want to make a big deal because everything else was on point but that's the only reason for one less star. That won't stop us from coming back when we're in the mood for lobster and caviar!

Yelp
Broad street Oyster is the newest addition to Ghirardelli Square and it was super packed on a Friday during lunch hours. You start off with ordering with the cashiers upon entry and once you got your number, you sit in the dining area. Everyone is very nice and I like how some of the staff are very informative about the seafood. Lobster roll with mayo and caviar- (3/5) The quality of lobster meat was good and it was perfectly cooked and meaty but the lobster to roll ratio was not ideal. The bun was not warm and was lacking in flavor. For the price, I expected a bit more. Stone crab- (4.4/5) it's rare to find stone crabs in the west coast so I was happy they had this. The sweetness of the stone crab went really well with their light creamy mustard. It had a bit of heat which elevated the flavor and made it more enjoyable. Rockefeller oysters- (5/5) This was the highlight of our meal! The brine from the oyster with the creamy spinach sauce was pure perfection. That slightly charred lemon gave each bite a wonderful Smokey acidic taste! Would definitely order this again. Fish tacos- (3/5) the fish was flaky and perfectly fried but it was a bit bland. This place has so much potential and I would love to see how they improve in the future. My personal rating would be a 3.8

Yelp
I wanted to try this as soon as I saw it on Yelp and my husband finally took our kids and I here for my birthday! Suffice it to say the food did NOT disappoint! I'm gonna have to go extensive on this review because I doubt my words can do it justice. Service: excellent! Everyone was courteous and pleasant, not to mention very clean. Ambience: location was unbeatable. The view of the ocean while eating was a great experience. The entire restaurant was spotless, and didn't smell fishy -- despite being a seafood restaurant AND only a stone's throw away from the ocean. The place is also very cute and "instagrammable". Lol Now for the real part, Food: Fish and chips: we got this for our 3 year old. The fact that you were able to make my 3yo finish fish already speaks volumes! The dip for the fires were also fire. Not sure what it was, but it was gooonnneee. Sea urchin spaghetti: they were out of uni for our lobster rolls that day, but I'm glad they had some of my spaghetti because it was to dieeeee for. Please don't think the grilled lemon is ONLY ornamental -- it actually added a nice zing to the whole plate! Dozen oysters: I know oysters are supposed to smell like the ocean, but I'm quite thankful these only had a *hint* of that smell. It wasn't a punchy sea smell, it was perfect. I'm no connoisseur, but these oysters were delicious! Calamari steak: perfectly cooked!! Nice and tender and almost melted in the mouth! None of that tough, rubbery BS that overcooked calamari give out. 10/10! Lobster rolls: we ordered one of each! My husband loved it warm with butter, while I preferred the chilled one with mayo! I like my seafood rolls cold, so I was biased, but they were both incredible! And the bread??? The bread?!?!?!! Mildly buttered and toasted to perfection. Need I say more? We are DEFINITELY going back!!

Yelp
Let's start with Lobster and SF ain't cheap, BSO's excellent service, spectacular views and tasty bites will help you forget all that. Fries w/ aioli, Xtra Lobster Roll with a soft drink left me feeling good. The open seating is casual and the order at the counter went smooth.
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Best lobster roll thus far! The perfectly cooked lobster in buttery buns paired with the old bay aioli was perfect! The size is pretty small, $26 for a classic lobster roll. I'd say about 3-4 bites. The oysters were fresh and good! The claw chowder had pieces of fried clams which was good but was loaded with chopped celery and onions. Wasn't bad, good but not the best. For 3 items the total was $80. Hardly any parking and the garage is $18 for up to 4 hours. Half off Monday-Thursday. The place is very clean with indoor seating that over looks the water! Customer service was great! Attentive, helpful and kind! Not an everyday place to go to, but def have to go at least once every few months! If you haven't tried the lobster roll, you must!

Yelp
loved the aesthetic and design of the restaurant and really enjoyed the view! the food on the otherhand was a bit disappointing, bland, and overpriced. for 2 lobster rolls and a side of fries was almost $70. I wouldn't mind paying the price if I enjoyed the food but the warm roll w butter was lacking lobster taste and the cold roll w mayo had too much lemon. *side note if you park in the garage and ask for parking validation, make sure it works as the voucher they gave us didnt work.

Yelp
We're long time patrons of Barrio but when I saw Broad Street Oyster Co. (known for the famous lobster rolls) was opening a location at Ghirardelli we couldn't wait to try. Being a big time lob roll connoisseur I was anxious to see if they lived up to their reputation and let me say it ABSOLUTELY did. Lobster rolls were warm and buttery, portion was generous and bread was buttered and toasted just right. And with views of the bay ambience was on par!!! They definitely won us over and we can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
Was really excited to check out Broad Street just a few days after opening. It's a great addition to the area. The restaurant is very bright and airy; only downstairs was open but they said they have an upstairs area opening soon. I only ordered the calamari steak and a wine since I wasn't super hungry. I'm hoping to go back and try more menu items but can see it being popular and getting really crowded soon.

Yelp
I've been to the Malibu and Grand Central location so I just knew I had to come to the SF location! I ordered a warm butter lobster roll with fries which was great! Really love the bread a lot. The environment is also quite nice cuz it was in Ghirardelli Square. However, I wish they had the chips option that they do at the Malibu location. I personally enjoy the chips more.

Yelp
I'm torn about this review because there are many great attributes to this new restaurant in Ghirardelli Square... The restaurant itself is a beautiful setting with a fantastic bar set up and seafood display. The staff are very attentive and quite friendly. For the food, this is where I'm torn a bit. I ordered the "World Famous" Lobsters Roll (I've never heard of it before)... now, I'll disclose I'm a huge fan and New England Lobster Co down in Millbrae, so that's what I'd be comparing Broad Street's Lobster Roll to. The Lobster Roll was lackluster... it tasted good, but there was very little "content" to it, especially when you factor in the price. Other than the two lobster claw pieces on the top, there was very little lobster in the actual roll. I felt a bit ripped off... on the other end though, the fries were awesome! Great texture and the Old Bay aioli was delicious. I have yet to try the rest of the menu, so I'm being optimistic in giving this place 4 stars for now. I'd give a 3.5, but the staff was nice and the fries were stellar. Hope to go back and give the rest of the menu a try.

Yelp
SF is pricey, but this spot was a little too pricey for a casual order at the counter place. Food was good but once again overpriced. Good view and ample seating though!

Yelp
Lobster rolls with so-cal vibes. Cheap beer, fresh seafood options and fun service. If you're feeling baller go with the caviar on top.

Yelp
I usually go to the Broad Street Oyster Co. in Malibu and was thrilled that one opened up in San Francisco! The food is amazing (especially the mushroom roll) and the ambiance is very cozy (perfect for San Francisco)! Service was great, everyone was extremely friendly and very attentive! I will absolutely be going back and recommend anyone in the area stop by.

Yelp
Cute little spot at Ghirardelli Square. Having heard a lot about the lobster roll, we had to try it. We got the lobster roll warm and with butter. The lobster itself was nice and fresh and tasty, the bun warm and buttery, but we found the roll a little dry and lacking. We also got the chowder which was pretty good!

Yelp
Cute concept but didn't quite deliver a giant's home run. I was pleased with the ambiance and location but the food was just okay. The fish of the fish and chips plate was a bit mushy causing it to fall apart, the fries were good, and there were some weird logistics about where/whom to request extra tartar sauce from. The customer service was friendly but when the plates came out I didn't receive silverware/napkin and I had to ask for everything I needed ad hoc creating a very choppy experience. The price was a bit much. I paid over $50 for fish and chips (one piece of fish and very little fries), clam chowder and a canned beverage. I would give it another try but not the best first impression.

Yelp
Broad Street Oyster Co. at Ghirardelli Square is a seafood lover's dream come true! The lively atmosphere is perfect for a casual feast, and the location couldn't be beat. Their service is great, all staff are very friendly. We dove into their fresh offerings, and everything was amazing. The rich and creamy oyster Rockefeller was a decadent starter. The lobster roll showdown was a highlight - the warm with butter was delicious, but the chilled with mayo stole the show. The lobster was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, with the mayo adding a touch of creamy magic. We also enjoyed the luxurious sea urchin spaghetti and the sweet, perfectly cooked Dungeness crab. Crispy French fries were the perfect salty companion to all the delicious seafood. So happy they opened in Ghirardelli Square - it's a must-visit!

Yelp
Great spot, food came out in a timely manner. We tried the fish and chips, lobster roll, clam chowder oysters and sword clams! Delicious! Lobster roll is small but good! Fish and chips was mad fresh - yummy batter! Service was nice, they were always walking around asking if folks needed anything! Great view of Alcatraz, beautiful sunny day!

Yelp
Listen...I wanted to love this place. And maybe someday I will. But today, Saturday, 3.30.24, was not that day. We entered and given the fact that it's, what...Day 4 of being open?...I didn't expect too much in the service department. People are very friendly, but they're definitely still trying to figure out what to do behind the counter. It took a minute to figure out that we should order at the counter, then find a seat. That's fine...and it makes sense. Similar to Seabreeze in Jack London so we should have caught onto that. We placed our order, then found a little nook in the side room with a nice overview of the area, looking out to the north bay with the Balclutha in our view - gorgeous. We had a number card so they knew how to find us. The first thing that came were our beers. Hubby had ordered a hazy IPA & unfortunately they brought the wrong one. But it was an IPA so he just rolled with it. Mine was a mexican lager and it was just what I wanted. It's really cute that they've branded their beers in partnership with different breweries... The food is where it fell down for us. Hubby got the 1/2 dozen oysters and felt they were lacking flavor. They weren't the salty, briny flavor bombs he's used to with fresh oysters. I got the lobster roll hot with butter and added caviar. I will give it up for the bun. It was perfectly done and seemed like the brioche that many feel is the only way to serve it. I'm not that particular on this item, as long as it's warm and buttery. The lobster itself was good enough...but there was just so very little of it. There is the option to add more for a lot more $$, but I wanted to get it the way it's most basic. And the caviar is absolutely unnecessary. For the amount you get at the price you pay, there's no need. It doesn't enrich the experience at all. Finally we did get an order of fries and they were probably the best part of the meal. Warm and crispy and flavorful. Also, are we paying more in SF? The menus I've seen online are $25 for a lobster roll in the other locations. SF is paying $27, I believe. Just checking... I mean, are we really paying more than Santa Barbara? Okay...to wrap up...there's nothing to hate here, but there's nothing to make me want to return, either.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Restaurant has clean and casual ambiance with a lot of light. The outrun theme is cool. Parking garage is right next door. The problem is the food is mid and prices are not commensurate. Fried oysters, pasta, and lobster roll with caviar and uni set us back ~$150 after tax and tip (no drinks were ordered at this lunch meal). If you're looking for lobster rolls and caviar, go to Little Shuckers instead. I don't have recs for fried oysters in SF but I had some great ones at Fisherman's Cove in Bodega Bay a few days before this meal that made these oysters seem pretty sad in comparison. Broad St had a dense crunchy batter (kinda like a cracker? It was weird) and the ratio of oyster to batter was off. There was way more batter than oyster. I like small raw oysters. But here, small oysters got lost in the batter. At Fisherman's Cove, the oysters had a light, crispy beer batter and medium sized oysters. The lobster roll could've used more lobster too. Little shuckers and New England Lobster in Burlingame both have better rolls. I haven't been to Luke's in too long to say where that roll falls with these counterparts. The uni spaghetti tasted mostly like cheese and was really heavy. One of my least favorite versions and would not get this again unless I was craving just a cheese pasta. They're new in the area (LA transplant). Hope they can make some tweaks to the food.

Yelp
A wonderful Friday afternoon, we arrived before the lunch rush and had an amazing view! My husband loves seafood, as do I, but he's a bit more adventurous. Of course we both had to get the warm lobster roll one with fries. I found the lobster pieces to be large and fresh and I liked the dipping sauce for the fries, and the roll was fresh and not too buttery. We also got sea urchin, my husband ate that alone and love it. We split the ceviche with plantain chips - fresh, flavorful and delicious. We also tried the clam chowder - not a traditional New England style, but a large portion size, I think it was my least favorite of what we order, but it's not bad. The crudo was also delicious, with lemon zest and olive oil - simple and fresh - I think it was my favorite! The chef also brought over a few chilled scallops to try, these were delicate and light with lemon. The restaurant is clean and has a great playlist, the staff is friendly and attentive. My husband noted it has a good energy. We will definitely return for more!

Yelp
Enjoyed the delicious Lobster Rolls, Classic Burger Sliders, Cocktail Shrimps & fresh Oysters last night @ the Yelp Event. My first time there, we loved the food, great customer service, good location Except one important thing, for one & all gender bathroom, there should be toilet seat covers. I don't wanna waste lots of toilet papers to cover it...

Yelp
One star for the view, One star for the beer (in a can) They have stars deducted for the amount of time it took me to get my food, The lobster roll price was expensive, My lobster roll experience came out soggy and butter all over the plate it was kind of gross. I left here hungry and wearied out by the yellow bathroom. I won't be back

Yelp
I was unfortunately underwhelmed. I ordered the seafood tower, Uni Pasta and some fries. I think my biggest let down would be that the pasta hardly had any Uni flavor. The ran out of Uni to serve on top (usually the seafood tower includes it too), so perhaps that is why? I guess it may not really be their fault as apparently they apparently aren't able to procure the Uni at the moment. The seafood tower was pretty good too but I was expecting more. This whole spread cost over $250, but I want to believe that it may also be due to the fact that they are located in Ghirardelli Square. The views are lovely and I'm sure the rent isn't cheap for this location! The staff was very friendly though and I'm hoping that things work out for this place.

Yelp
Service was quick & easy and food was good too. Will definitely plan on returning soon when back in town.

Yelp
Great views while dining! Fish and chips were just ok; too much breading on the fish and it was over fried. Great that they use reusable water glasses for self-serve water.

Yelp
My favorite place to bring my sister whether it be DTLA or Malibu the service is great. The food is amazing and we are always Satisfied.

Yelp
Way overpriced. Clam chowder was Luke warm and the bacon smoke flavor overwhelmed the chowder. Fish and chips was overcooked and oily. The fries are pretty good. Chilled lobster roll was actually very good. But again way. Overpriced.

Yelp
Had their buttered lobster roll and the michelada, both were great! I was honestly not expecting to like the Michelada as much, but was pleasantly surprised by the first sip. Their mix is on point! The lobster roll was sooo meaty. I still think about going back for another. Service was good and the views from the dining area are refreshing.
