"Open for: Lunch, dinnerPrice range: $Kadeesha and Antoine Wiggins began Burgeezy, their all-vegan success story, in 2021 at Indy’s Kitchen, a commercial space catering to entrepreneurs. Soon after, they participated in Be Nimble’s restaurant accelerator at AMP’s Melon Kitchen, receiving an investment towards opening a permanent location after completing the apprenticeship. In 2023, they opened their first store along Canal Walk, serving tasty sandwiches like Fishhh Fillet, Crispy Chick’n, and Double BBQ Bacon — all without dairy, meat, or eggs.Best for: A lovely lunch outside along Indy’s famed Canal Walk." - Brian Garrido

Honest Review – Great Potential but Some Room for Improvement I recently visited Burgeezy after following them on Instagram and was excited to support this business. I ordered the Philly Burger with a gluten-free bun, large shoestring fries, and mac & cheese. While I enjoyed my meal, there are a few areas that could be improved. ✅ What I Loved: • The fries were tasty—crispy and well-seasoned. • The burger was cool, but I felt it was missing a signature sauce and seasoning to bring it all together. 🔧 Areas for Improvement: • The staff was friendly, but I noticed they weren’t always sure about menu details. I asked about the black bean burger ingredients and the gluten-free bun brand, but the answers weren’t definitive. It would be great if the team had more knowledge of the menu. • Many items were sold out by the time I arrived. It would be helpful if sold-out items were updated on social media so customers know what’s available before making the trip. • The Philly Burger could be more on theme—larger peppers and onions would enhance the “Philly” experience. • The mac & cheese was a bit flat—it could use a stronger, more pronounced flavor. • Pricing is on the higher side. I spent about $40 for just my meal, and if I dined with someone else, we easily could have spent close to $100 without drinks. • I really hate to see Impossible Meat on the menu. With all the harmful ingredients, it’s disappointing when vegan restaurants choose to serve it. It makes you question why they opened a vegan restaurant to begin with—is it about health, sustainability, or just another trendy food spot? • Just like the food, drink options matter too. They offer Coke products, which have been linked to forever chemicals, artificial flavors, and harmful dyes. While I understand this is a college town, partnering with a local juice shop or offering healthier beverage options would align better with a vegan restaurant’s mission. Overall, I love seeing vegan businesses thrive, and I appreciate what this restaurant is offering. With a few small changes, I think they can really elevate the experience! Would love to return and see how things evolve.

This is a hard restaurant to review. Went in not knowing it was a plant based menu (our fault), but we gave it a shot. Went in on a Sunday and only brunch is offered. The brunch food was very good. The grits were especially good, so were the “sausage” patties. We enjoyed the brunch so much we came back for lunch. The burgers, hotdog and mac and cheese were all disappointing. The Mac and cheese had no flavor and the burgers were also not great. The fries weren’t crispy enough as well as underwhelming in flavor. To be fair, we are not vegans, therefore, not accustomed to this type flavor profile, so take that into consideration about the food. The atmosphere and location are amazing though. Service was good.

Stopped in on a Sunday and so glad we got to try their brunch menu! I got the grits platter with crispy shiitake wings and the egg scramble. Everything tasted 11/10. Have to recommend the grits, shiitake wings, and hash browns. Try everything! We parked for free in the street near the canal and did the canal walk too since it's right along it.

My favorite vegan restaurant hands down! My favorite dish is the impossible chopped cheese with crinkle cut fries. It's so hot, fresh, cooked, and seasoned to perfection! I've had multiple non vegan friends and family try their food, and everyone loves it just as much! (They do use peanut oil for anything fried, just in case anyone has allergies) I've also enjoyed there Philly burger, chili cheese fries, mac n cheese, fried cauliflower, and biscoff pancakes (Sunday brunch). Highly recommend!

I came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend. We both ordered a classic, beyond burger with fries and an original lemonade using the kiosk. We sat ourselves and waited for our food. There were about 6-7 groups in the restaurant and it didn't look like anyone was eating. It took 37 minutes for the server to bring out two "original lemonades" that were in minute maid cans. Our burgers and fries took an hour and seven minutes... not even exaggerating. I've worked in the restaurant business and I know things can get rough but over an hour for some burgers and fries is ridiculous. The two servers that were working seemed nice and they did apologize for the wait. On a side note, my boyfriend and I are not vegan or vegetarian and didn't realize this was a plant based burger place. The beyond burger was better than what we both expected. Fries were good so I don't have any complaints about the quality of the food... just the service. If this continues... I don't know how long they're going to stay in business.

Google
This was the best Vegan burger and nuggets I’ve ever had in the 2 1/2 years of being plant based. Even my adult children loved it who are definitely not vegan 😊 awesome job Burgeezy!!! I am most definitely coming back!! Oh the sauce!! Lip smacking, finger licking good!!!

Google
(Four stars instead of 5 because there is no DietCoke.) I didn't realize my burger wasn't beef. I didn't know this was a vegetarian place. My food was delicious!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for weeks now and finally got to. I ordered the spicy crispy chicken sandwich while my friend ordered the big burgeezy burger. We both shared an appetizer of cauliflower and seitan wings. The total was roughly around $70 with each of us getting a Fanta. What I liked: - Seasons shoestring fries (nice crisp & flavor) - Spicy Crispy Chicken sandwich (good texture and balanced flavors) - Hot Hunny sauce (not too sweet) - Pretty friendly staff Food came out fairly quick What I disliked: - Sweet potato fries (too mushy) - Big burgeezy (too mushy and not much flavor) - Cauliflower wings (pieces were too big and not fully cooked) I enjoyed the chicken sandwich more than I expected. It was fried nicely and the texture is pretty close. Like any sandwich, the breading got soggy from the sauce so I just ended up peeling it off. The cauliflower wings were too big in my opinion. It took 3-4 bites to finish one and some had raw bits to it. The seitan wings were pretty good. They were a little mushy but it just felt like you were eating a mix between a chicken nugget and a falafel. I took a bite of my friend’s good and it wasn’t great. She also liked my chicken sandwich better. I look forward to trying other things on the menu.

Yelp
I love supporting black owned businesses especially ones that cater to plant based foods. Indy does not have a lot of them. The food is good but the owner stole my heart. She made a point of greeting every guest. They are in their first brick and mortar so please go out and support them!

Bruce F.

Yelp
Everything menu item here is Vegan. Sometimes vegan wings are hot or miss. The vegan wings here are definitely hitting. You order and pay from a kiosk and they bring your order out to you. The wings are made from seitan which is a combination of gluten and water. The flavor, texture and crunchiness matched that of a chicken tender. The sauce was A sweet and spicy that had a mild kick to it. The dipping sauce was ranch. I plan to definitely return to try some of their other menu items.

Robert M.

Yelp
Went there on a Tuesday twenty-five minutes before they closed. I was the only customer. Was informed there was no dine in service. I wanted take-out anyway. Made my order on the large screen. Person was courteous and helpful. Took food home and enjoyed it. First experience with vegan hot dogs.

Yelp
Imagine Philly steak which is even better, tastier and delicious without the meat and the cheese!!! Can anything beat that? I don't think so!!! That's how our Philly steak was - delicious, delicious, delicious (chefs kiss!!!) yes there may be a gazillion options for meat lovers all over USA but for the minorities like us who eat more vegan, veggie and rarely eat meat Burgeezy is God sent! Like literally!!! Burgeezy was part of a cloud kitchen earlier before they opened their first independent store right beside the Indy Canal! Now I can imagine their success that they opened such a spacious store right in downtown which will be abuzz with customers and tourists in summer!!! Customer service is a breeze - Cooper is fabulous and the space is clean, spotless and has ample seating. Great pick up and to go service, I saw 7-10 customers just get in, pick up their piping hot bags and walk out. Vegan or no Burgeezy defines what taste is. Totally plant based and diary free their burgers are the actual MVP! Try it and you really won't regret it!

Emily D.

Yelp
Delicious, varied menu so any vegan will be satisfied! Staff was amazing, location was perfect right off the canal and an easy walk to other downtown attractions.

Kevin P.

Yelp
I'm going to give Burgeezy a 4 out of 5 stars because of service (they mixed up my meal and put part of my meal on another person's plate and we had to sort it ourselves. The cauliflower wings were amazing, and the maple garlic sauce was phenomenal. It had both good flavor and the cauliflower wings had good taste and mouthfeel. The chopped cheese was delicious. I've never heard of it before, but I was told it was a New York special. I thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. I'm not vegan, but I am on a diet and wanted to eat healthy. I would implore everyone, vegan or not, to come to this restaurant. You will enjoy yourself. The food is delicious and worth it

Yelp
I NEVER in my life had a 100% vegan/plant-based burger taste as good as Burgeezy's burger, and that sauce?!?? I wish they sold it in bottles. Although I'm not vegan, I'm not the biggest fan of eating beef. These burgers take care of that craving I have every once in a while, without the heavy, sick feeling I experience when eating beef burgers. 10/10 experience every time I go! The owner is so sweet and even remembers me and my friend. So proud of all our their success. Go support black-owned businesses! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Best vegan burger in Indy? For me, yep. The spicy hunny chik'n sandwich is massive, the perfect amount of spicy, and super filling. Yes, it is a tad pricy, but it's all super fresh and filling. The sweet potato fries are also delicious - a perfect hint of salty and sweet. My one tip: get more service so it can speed up the food-making process. It can unfortunately take awhile, so I'd recommend ordering ahead if you can.

Laura S.

Yelp
I love what Burgeezy is doing for vegan food and I LOVE their new location on the canal. The restaurant was pretty sparse for a Thursday night in February, but I imagine business picks up in warmer months. I ordered the Hot Hunny Chik'n Sandwich, which was extremely dense. It was spicy and the breading was good. Overall, I enjoyed the sandwich, but I might get a burger next time because the Chik'n sandwich was a bit of a gut buster. My husband dine with me, so I also got to try his Chicago Style Dog and some fries. Both were really good! As others have mentioned, it did take around 20 minutes for our food to come out after ordering, but knowing that it's made to order and fresh was definitely worth the wait. All of the employees we interacted with were so friendly and welcoming. I'll be back to try more of the menu and take in the amazing view on the canal.

Josh C.

Yelp
We ordered delivery from here last night and loved everything. We had the Ribs and Mac plate, the Hot Hunny Chicken, and the Chili Cheese Fries. We will be getting food from here again while we are in town. The menu is extensive, and everything is vegan, so it will be difficult not to order every meal from here.

Ellen M.

Yelp
So. Freaking. Good. We shared the Jr. Crispy Chicken, a Double Impossible Pineapple Express, fries, broccoli cheddar soup, and brownies. Everything was fantastic. Ordered at the kiosk, and the employee at the counter was available to answer questions. The food came out promptly. The service was friendly, and we were checked on several times. The vibe is industrial, which fit into the location. Definitely will come back when I visit Indy.

Rachel K.

Yelp
This is a great spot, even if you're not vegan! If no one told you you were eating a vegan Chicago style hot dog, you wouldn't even know. It was delicious! The Mac and cheese was also creamy and gooey and amazing( though it did taste different than your standard Mac and cheese, but not in a bad way!!). Honestly, all the food also just LOOKS visually stunning. I definitely hope to come back and try more!

Ashleigh S.

Yelp
Ok listen...I went back already. Hear me out... I haven't been eating out much since transitioning full time into a plant based lifestyle but I deserve a lil "cheat" here and there. The other day I had the double fish, but today I tried the chicken and BABY it was the best thing I've had in a very long time. I thought the fish was darned good but the chicken sandwich is hands down my favorite. I'm afraid it was so good because now I'll want it all the time. I actually went in to get it myself. I was off today so I had a plan to do my housework and reward myself lol. So I went and if you're not familiar with the area it can be a little confusing. I turned on 9th and then you follow it to the end; there you will see their sign with an arrow pointing left. Go down the stairs and go left when you get to the bottom walk about 200 feet and it'll be on the left. It's literally right on the canal. It's super cute and spacious on the inside. I could see a Yelp event happening here for sure. When you walk in to the right there are two kiosks to order. You can enter your number and they will text when your order is ready. I sat in the open booth and waited and someone promptly brought it out to me. I sat in the parking lot and ate, because no one deserved to see how I was about to go in on that food. And I was happy dancing the whole time. I am STILL full and it's been about an hour and a half since I finished eating. Still HIGHLY recommended.

Julliett P.

Yelp
My favorite vegan burger spot! The owner is super nice and accommodating. Spot is chilled and love the chiles music.

Ro W.

Yelp
I didn't get to take a picture of my chicken sandwich and fries. It was absolutely delicious. Everything is made to order. So, I waited patiently while charging up my laptop. The bathroom was clean. I've had their chicken and waffles when they were at the Amp. My order today was chef's kiss. I've been craving it since I left and will likely be back before the end of the week. The owner took my order and I asked her to surprise me on my food. It was the best surprise ever.

Robin R.

Yelp
I thought we would try Burgeezy based on the reviews and following them on Instagram. We had a 11am reservation for the brunch. Upon arrival at 10:50 were told we had to wait to order from the kiosk. We placed the order, 3rd customer in the door. Then we waited for 35 minutes for the food to arrive. Other customers that came in after us received their food orders before we did. This restaurant has terrible service! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is dark and dingy. The food was average yet overpriced! Nothing to get excited about, for sure. The items we had were definitely too salty for our taste. We will definitely not visiting again! Try Black Leaf Vegan around the corner. Definitely worth the added price you pay for vegan food!

John M.

Yelp
Surprised us by being all vegan (not clear on the signage at all) but the impossible steak & cheese surprised me. Fresh hot & tasty even with the fake cheese. Really enjoyed the meaty (in a manner of speaking) sweet potato fries.

Lo L.

Yelp
I can't believe that the best burger I've ever had is completely vegan!! I've been here a couple of times and tried a few items on the menu. I personally didn't really like the chicken sandwiches. They were great, but I feel like nothing was combining the flavors and the textures together. So definitely stick to the burgers; it will not disappoint. It is kind of pricey and I thought it was insane that (1) it doesn't come with fries and (2) they do not provide something as basic as service water. Like you have to buy a $2 bottle to cleanse your palette or in case of a choking emergency or something. BYO water I guess. The past couple of times I've been there, the restaurant always looks empty, but I think it's because most people do takeout. I mean, the size of the burgers tells you that it is something to be enjoyed a little privately haha. Like I wouldn't go here for a first date, unless you're ready to make a mess.

Heidi J.

Yelp
Yummy Sunday brunch in lovely setting- we sat outdoors. Pros: delicious Cons: Sizable wait and not enough ketchup to fill more than 2 little paper cups when requested. Pricey. Seemed short staffed.

Corey V.

Yelp
Slow orders, but oh so worth it! You will forget it's vegan! What a fantastic meal, single burger was loaded with toppings and gourmet all the way, i did have delicious sweet potato fries as well and a fantastic dipping sauce. Highly recommended!

Destiny O.

Yelp
My friends have been telling me to try Burgeezy out for months and I finally gave in and now I completely understand why they kept telling me to try it out. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger with the impossible option for protein and large straight cut fries and it was honestly so good. I didn't really like bacon on the burger but the rest of the burger tasted like a regular burger, the fries were delicious. I will be returning to try more from the menu (specifically the chicken sandwich because it caught my attention after I ordered). The people here were very nice and we didn't have to wait to be seated and the food came out pretty fast.

Erin D.

Yelp
burgeezy truly has some of the most creative and delicious vegan food in all of indianapolis! i've gotten their brunch and loved it, tried multiple burgers and been thrilled, and truly love their spicy chicken sandwich. it stays good over doordash too which is a true test! it can be a little slow if you dine in, but that's not always a bad thing. my only true complaint is their drink selection is truly lacking

Berdy W.

Yelp
Food was delicious! The atmosphere was quiet and kinda odd because we were the only people in the restaurant sitting down -- most traffic was for Uber eats or DoorDash

Karen H.

Yelp
Whoa. Hot damn. This vegan restaurant has food that was soooo good! I have been telling everyone they have to try it! I want them here in Columbus Ohio! So I had the Hot Yummy Chicken, Sweet Potato Fries, and a Blackberry Sparkling Soda. My bro in law had the Philly Cheese Burger, String Fries and Blackberry Sparkling Soda. We are not vegans and he was as amazed as I was that the vegan food was so terrific. Not many people sitting down. Most were doing take away. The place was nice. Orders were taken at a kiosk in the front that was super easy to use. Gotta get back there!

Toby B.

Yelp
I've been going to Burgeezy since they were a popup a couple years ago. The food has always been very, very good and brunch food is no exception. I've met one of the owners and she is absurdly nice. I write this review in hopes that their brunch service will improve. I genuinely want them to thrive and stay around a long time. This is the first time I visited since they started brunch service six months ago or so. We ordered two breakfast platters that included french toast, vegan egg scramble and hash browns. This platter starts at $20. Already i feel this is high, but I'll happily pay more for a vegan meal. However, you are offered various choices for the meal that have varying costs. You want veggies in your scramble? $2-3. Cheese? that's an extra $1. You want fruit? $2-3. veggie sausage? $2-4. Powdered sugar and/or whip cream? $0.50 each. They even charge $0.25 each for cream and sugar for your coffee. So in the end, two breakfast platters, added sausage and veggies, one coffee with cream and sugar, an orange juice, was $80(with tip). Everything tasted really good, but the sausage was overcooked. The restaurants ends brunch service a half hour, maybe an hour before they close at 3:30. We arrived a little before 2pm. The restaurant had 3 or 4 tables seated with a few waiting for carry out. We got our food at just before 3. So we waited a solid hour. Crazy wait for brunch especially when it wasn't even crowded. I know the other tables waited a similar time. Our order was basically correct but had our egg order swapped. Then to top it all off, everything except the plates is plastic. I can't understand how I can get charged $80 for breakfast and have to eat it with the flimsiest, chinese takeout style, plastic fork and knife. I had to hack at my french toast and sausage. I almost gave up and used my hands. They obviously have a dishwasher for plates, surely at least metal utensils could be utilized. I won't be back for brunch anytime soon, unless something changes. I will continue to go and get their burgers and other lunch/dinner items. I think I'll post a higher review for their other service.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Great Costumer Service will be back!! Thanks Burgeezyyyyy see you guys soon be back new years eve

Dunn D.

Yelp
Service non existent, a single burger and fries should not take 40 minutes to serve, very overpriced and empty. I wanted to like this place but they wasted my time and money.

Regina H.

Yelp
This place is a game changer! I am Not from here but frequent the Indy area to visit my college student, and we visit everyone we are in town. Wish they were open on Sunday. Anything you order, you will not be disappointed.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Food is very good! Staff is friendly, location is right on the canal! The wait can be a little long but the taste of their food offerings is worth the wait.

Kay S.

Yelp
The food is good but it's definitely junk vegan food. Good every once in a while as a treat. Not a huge fake meat fan so my review is a bit biased. Food was tasty though.

Daniel B.

Yelp
we all got sick after eating here! First of all, it's not easy to get to, but once you do... you have to do all of your own ordering from a kiosk, which is not so easy when it's your first time. There were three of us and we ordered nachos, a $22 hamburger, a chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries and regular fries (bc the $22 burger and chicken sandwiches were a la carte ). Everything is a la carte actually ... even regular toppings for your burger and ketchup for your fries. When I asked why ketchup was xtra when ordering fries ... the only person working in the front said "because that's how it is when you eat on the canal". Our bill was $70+ and the kiosk added a tip even though we did not have service other than a pitcher of water being put on our table. It was a Thursday night around 7pm and we were the only people in the restaurant, which, in my opinion strongly suggests something. Our food came up and the nachos were not even big enough to feed a 7 yr old and they were $16! The chicken sandwich literally had nothing on it ... just a bun and vegan chicken and hot sauce. I'm not sure why I never got my lettuce or tomato or onion but there was nobody to help, so I ate it plain. The fries I ordered from the kiosk indicated plain straight fries but came out covered in a seasoning blend of at least 8 different spices and they were not edible. We asked the only person working as they were walking by for help and they said "not now". I love eating good vegan food and was so excited to try burgeezy out for my birthday and I'm sorry to say ... it was a huge disappointment! All three of us agreed we would never go back again. Also, all three of us got sick only several hours later . 10th street diner is also vegan, so much better, way friendlier on your pocket book and the environment is a better vibe all around. I honestly wished I could say something positive about this place but I can't ... oh! ... the dining room did feel clean ... some I'm adding a star for that !

Andera J.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite place to eat. The food never disappoints and the portions are huge. It's worth the price tag. The staff is always nice and helpful when I ask questions about ingredients due to allergies. I also really enjoyed the vibe of their location.

McKenna P.

Yelp
Amazinggg food and very accommodating staff. We didn't realize the food is fried in peanut oil and they happily remade food for us. Very pleased with the great service and food, will absolutely be back

Aaliyah S.

Yelp
We went to the restaurant for brunch at 1pm on a Sunday and ordered the waffle platter and the pancake platter. We paid $70 for both before tip. They upcharge for almost every item on the platter. Plant based sausage is $2-4 dollars extra and you have to pay extra for cheese and/or vegetables in the eggs. This brunch was EXTREMELY overpriced and I'm not someone who is opposed to paying a lot for food when it is worth it. I think this breakfast platter should cost no more that $15-$20 MAX. The food was very cold. The vegan eggs were gross. Honestly wished we saved our money and made brunch at home. The server was very kind and our food came out fairly quickly but we were very disappointed by our meal. This was surprising because we've been to burgeezy before for lunch and had the plant based chicken sandwiches and they were good. I would maybe come back again for lunch/dinner but I would not return for brunch.

Jennifer F.

Yelp
My son ate all his food so I know it was good . Also service is phenomenal. Everyone is so nice and welcoming

Marium A.

Yelp
The food was delicious and all of the "meat" is plant based! The service was great and pretty speedy! And the decor was nice and they even had a little area for photos! Definitely recommend and trying the hot hunny chick'n and the bbq bacon burger. I definitely will come back to try the fishhh filet and Philly steak.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Brunch was expensive. The server was rude and pretentious. We wanted to try a vegan place and he made sure we knew we didn't belong.

Julia A.

Yelp
If you haven't tried Burgeezy, go now. The hot honey chicken sandwich was phenomenal. The fries perfectly crispy and spiced. The bacon cheeseburger delicious. Service was friendly, professional, and fast. Great location right on the canal. I'm not a vegan, but will definitely be back soon!

Alaisha B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! my GF isn't vegan but, she smashed the burger! The nuggets were also amazing!

Evelyn P.

Yelp
unfortunately they don't have signage that their kitchen closes early. went in to try and get food but was told their kitchen was closed despite there being people inside waiting for food too.
