Prix fixe & a la carte options, family-style sides & desserts
"Camaraderie is what happens when a cool cocktail bar and a fine dining restaurant get together and move into a former woodworking shop in The Heights. On one side is a lounge and patio with a short a la carte menu, and across the planter divide, a packed dining room with a $75 prix fixe and a yacht rock soundtrack. The French-leaning a la carte options are dialed-in and just fancy enough: manchego cheese curls (think Cheetos that studied abroad), a chilled heirloom tomato pie that nails the tangy-creamy sweet spot, and a rotating Texas-cut steak-and-potatoes situation. Dessert, including an incredible melba pavlova, is where the chef flexes his experience at March, where he ran the sweet side of things. If this is just the lounge menu, we can’t wait to come back to try the tasting." - brooke viggiano, mai pham, nicolai mccrary, andrew ryce, gianni greene, chelsea thomas

"Camaraderie is a new French-leaning spot from the pastry chef who helped launch Rosie Cannonball and March, focused on ingredients from the Gulf. You can order a la carte at the bar or on the patio, or go with a $75 per person prix-fixe option in the main dining room. If you go with that last option, you get front row views of the open kitchen, where the team turns out plates like salt-baked celery root and Dover sole en croûte." - brooke viggiano, gianni greene, chelsea thomas

"Shawn Gawle, the chef who helped launch Goodnight Hospitality’s Rosie Cannonball and March, returns to Houston with a Heights restaurant that puts extra emphasis on dining together. At Camaraderie, diners can choose between three different seating styles: Head to the dining room for a prix-fixe style menu ($75 per person) serving homemade bread, snacks, appetizers, and entrees, including Dover sole en Croûte and a bright carrot cavatelli made with carrot top pesto, mimollette, and turnips. Sides come in family-style portions, and desserts are also meant to be shared. For a more casual experience, sit at the bar, which offers à la carte options, or unwind on the outdoor patio, where diners can place orders through a walk-up window. The drinks menu features Old World and New World wines and a cocktail menu embodying the restaurant’s communal style. This menu features drinks designed for sharing, miniature versions of classic cocktails, and lower ABV options." - Brittany Britto Garley

"Chef Shawn Gawle’s salt-baked celery root is both a visual and flavorful highlight: tender root pieces layered under delicate apple slivers, with chili and yuzu adding bright, refreshing punches that complement the apple’s slight sweetness. A server-recommended halibut also impresses—halibut and smoked potato arrive submerged in a creamy lobster-and-clam chowder that evokes classic New England clam chowder comforts." - Brittany Britto Garley
