50 Best Restaurants in India, From Kasauli to Kolkata | Condé Nast Traveler

"In Benaulim, Cavatina is Avinash Martins’ polished, memory-driven celebration of Goa: valchi bhaji with mushrooms and morels, tongue in temperado as tartare, serradura reimagined, and a deliberate insistence on local craft—bamboo mats, village-baked bread and hand-ground masalas—that keeps small economies and traditions alive on each changing, seasonally tuned menu." - Karina Acharya

In Goa, Purumenth Has Taken on a New Meaning During COVID-19 | Eater

"Led by chef-owner Avinash Martins, this restaurant champions a return to seasonal, locally sourced preservation practices: the team now makes and stores pickles, preserved fish, chiles, and salt as part of a deliberate, small-batch approach. Martins — who became especially attentive to food safety after the 2018 formalin-in-fish scare — frames these methods as “the new gourmet,” valuing organic, low–carbon-footprint produce and self-reliance. During the COVID lockdown he leaned into this ethos, using traditional preservation techniques to ensure supplies and to reconnect modern dining with ancestral cycles of preparation." - Joanna Lobo

Can you give something 5 plus stars? Because this place truly deserves all the hype it gets. We had so much food that our belly and our hearts were full. Not only was the food incredible, the service was near perfect. Special shout out to our server Mohit who explained every dish, we had crab bisque which was incredible, two starters, main courses of which the filet mignon deserves a special mention and two desserts. The presentation of all of which was topped only by their taste. Please do come here if you are in Goa. Be sure to make a reservation. I promise you it would be worth you time.

Upon arriving at Cavatina by Avinash Martin, the first impression was off-putting as the staff did not greet us politely. Instead, the very first question was whether we had a booking or not, asked quite bluntly. It would have been more welcoming to receive all guests with a courteous greeting before inquiring about reservations. The dining experience itself was disappointing due to the rude behavior of the staff. We ordered a jackfruit starter but were served a mixed vegetable version instead. When we pointed out this mistake, the waiter argued that we had not ordered the jackfruit starter, showing a dismissive and confrontational attitude. This soured our mood and cast a shadow over the rest of the meal. We had planned to order more dishes and enjoy a broader experience, but due to the unpleasant service, we cut the meal short and left earlier than intended. Although the food was decent, the lack of professionalism in handling our order mistake overshadowed the entire dining experience. I believe the order error situation could have been handled more politely and with better care. Given Cavatina’s reputation for innovative cuisine and fine dining, such treatment was unexpected and disappointing.

The food here is just awesome. The waiter will take time to explain the food item. All the dishes in the menu are extremely innovative. We were served by Dilshad and he was excellent at taking care of our every requirement. Wasn’t that hungry when entered this place but ended up having lot of things. A 10/10 experience.

We walked in, which was risky. It is better to get a reservation for sure. We got lucky and were seated. The owner's wife was very hospitable and took the time to explain our food to us. The staff was a mixed experience. One of our servers was very helpful while another was....diffent...we felt we were being done a favour by him. Same with the security guard.Leaving this aside, the food was extremely delicious with an innovative twist. The Ros Omlette is not just an omlette within a bun, it's a juicy experience, one to polish off with a hot cup of vegetable broth. The slow cooked pork belly, and chorizo cigars were just perfect. Super duper satisfying food.

Visited the place for lunch with no reservation, but they had a cancellation so were gracious enough to give us a table. I’m a vegetarian , and my partner is non vegetarian. The food was absolutely delicious for both of us. I can’t remember the names of the dishes- but everything starting from the bread basket they gave when we sat down, to appam-tacos we had for appetizers, to the soup, to the vegetable/rice/appam main course was so incredibly flavourful. The server was also really helpful- we followed his advice on what to order eyes closed and were not disappointed. I have a huge sweet tooth, so we ordered the tasting platter of their dessert- all of them were good, but probably not “goan” so didn’t find them as mind blowing as the rest of the food. The guard outside who helped us park our scooty was also a bit rude

This is a must visit place for food lovers. I was impressed to notice a great variety of dishes for vegetarians in the menu. Staff was courteous, service was quick and food was finger licking good. Must try : Mushroom Xacuti, sweet potatoe with garlic flavoured yogurt, butter garlic prawns and bibinca with bailey flavoured ice cream .

An incredible culinary experience! This place is a must-visit in Goa for anyone who loves good food. The variety is impressive, and the flavors truly redefine taste. The atmosphere has a natural, earthy charm—you can feel it in everything, from the plates and tumblers to the thoughtful way each dish is served. It’s absolutely worth the hype and every penny spent. Long after you leave Goa, Cavatina will remain a lasting taste memory.

Cavatina for me isn’t just a restaurant…it is home. After having tried some really fancy restaurants in different parts of the world, I can proudly say I have the best one at home. At Cavatina , you not only get to experience Chef Avinash’s culinary brilliance but also are spoilt by Tiz and the team who go above and beyond to look after you. Chef Avinash is an artist and you will see a few pieces of his amazing art at the restaurant on the walls but the food he puts out on the plate is extra ordinary. Not just the taste but the presentation. The team make sure they take your order down very attentively while checking for any dietary allergies or restrictions. While the food is great, the cocktails and desserts are equally good. Chef Tiz is the woman behind the amazing desserts you will get to try here. Don’t miss out on her brilliant home made ice creams. Honestly it’s hard to pick a favourite when it comes to the food because everything is so different and nice. Though I never miss out on ordering the crab bisque soup while I’m here. This is my family’s go to place for a celebration and I would highly recommend anyone visiting Goa to put this on top of your to do list while visiting.
