"Home of the West-coast style IPA beer collaboration, Mi Gente — a campaign similar in concept to the “Black is Beautiful” project launched by Weathered Souls Brewing Co. of Texas in 2020 — intended to celebrate contributions made by Latinx brewers. A portion of proceeds going in support of the local Latino community. This downtown brewery offers a selection of craft beer, cider, wine, hard seltzer, and nonalcoholic options. The pub menu offers Puerto Rican-inspired fare of yuca fries, tostones, and smoked pork tacos — sofrito-braised smoked pork, black bean and corn salsa, queso fresco, and a sprinkling of cilantro. City Built’s kitchen is open Wednesday through Saturday (they’re adding Sunday service soon). On Mondays and Tuesdays, the brewery hosts a variety of food trucks and other food vendors that pop up outside or utilize the kitchen space." - Courtney Burk

"A local favorite, City Built creates a wide range of complex but tasty beers, many of them inspired by plants, herbs, and fruit. The brewery not only is gaining recognition for its IPAs, but it’s also been honored nationally for the vibrant label created for its Czech pilsner Prague Underground. Fill up on food, too: The menu is inspired by the owners’ Puerto Rican heritage — yuca fries, tacos, tostones, and mofongo." - Monica Williams

City Built has great FOOD! They are known for their beer and rightly so because there are so many good ones. But the food is great! Bori Balls as an appetizer will disappear as people scarf them down. They are so good! The Cubana sandwich is an awesome blend of flavors grilled like a grilled cheese or a panini but with pork, ham, pickles and cheese. They have awesome tacos with lots of flavors to choose from. It's worth the wait and the service is great!

Great atmosphere great place to relax, have a drink and eat some amazing food. The bartender was amazing, all the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place

Beautiful spot near the river. The food is incredible. Some of the best wings I've had recently. Dry rubbed and seasoned after smoking then dropping in a fryer. It's my favorite way for wings. The shrimp Po'Boy was good, but nothing that made it stand out against others I have. Needed more spice or a hot sauce maybe. But the season fries were the real center piece. I'm not normally a fry guy by nature, but I've never had seasoned fries this good. Not even close. The beers were delicious. It's hard to find such great Fruited sours lightly tart and so sweet. Exceptional. Sampled a couple of others, lots of flavor in the beers we got. Only real critique is the bar/ordering set up. If we are to go to the bar and order our own food and drink, it shouldn't be at the end of the bar far from the taps. While also being near the door. I watched confused faces all day, and it really gummed up traffic at times. Curious to why this set up wasn't run at the middle of the bar like what I've seen at other breweries. More rapid response for pint pours. Stop in for a food and a drink ASAP.

Great beer, awesome food. Service was excellent. My friends really liked the non beer options as well. Ed and Sofia really took care of us. Ed is a super host and made sure we could watch the Packer game. We'll be back for sure next time we're in GR.

Google
Several N/A non-alcoholic drink options, would have been cool to have a N/A beer, but the cocktails were cool. I tried the activated charcoal mocktail and it was interesting! Preferred the Cherry Bombs one, not too sweet, but less bitter than the charcoal. Really kid-friendly: they have a kids menu, coloring pages, lots of crayons, a mini disc golf set, and chicken nuggets that were actually regular chicken nuggets!!

Very clean and well organized venue. Visited when Hamburger Mikey from Muskegon was hosting. - Service: Service was positive and quick. They had board games on a shelf behind the counter and I asked about them. They said they don’t host any activities, but customers are welcome to ask to use the board games if they like. - Atmosphere: VERY clean and organized. The wood accents were wonderful. The seating was super comfortable. I brought two of my kids and felt very comfortable doing so. - Parking: Parking can be difficult. Street parking is paid 8am-7pm Mon-Fri. If you can plan ahead, you can park further away for free (like I did), but you will be walking a long way. I did not find any parking lot, but after looking later, I found it to the southeast of the building. Maybe next time? Visited January 1, 2025, which was Wednesday, at 12pm.

Food is good, especially the specialty tacos, and Adult Nuggs. The beer selection and quality have improved significantly. Love the new IPA's. Fifth Street Hooligans, Mi Gente and 7 Year Anniversary. Outdoor picnic table seating along the front on Monroe Avenue, and across the street along the Grand River. There is plenty of seating inside at at the bar. There is no table service. You must go to the bar to order food and beer. They text you when your food is ready. Bike racks out front and on the side of the building, which was nice for our stop along the route in downtown GR.

We started our 2 day beer tour here! Great service and phenomenal beers! The Blue Monroe and the Honor Amongst Thieves were my favourites.

Yelp
Let's start by saying I have one single picture because everything was so delicious that by the time I went to take more pictures, everything had been eaten up. We ordered chicken tinga tacos and smoked pork tacos with Puerto Rican rice and Yuca fries. All of it was great, but we definitely fought over who could eat the last fry. I would eat all of it again. Our littles had a quesadilla and chicken nuggets-- and they ate all of it. Two thumbs up for having nugs as an option for my picky eater. No wait service, but after ordering at the bar, it was less than 15 minutes before our food was out and the bartender was friendly and helpful when we had questions about the beer selection. My had a couple different IPAs and both were clean and crisp. Very drinkable. The cherry on top of it all was an excellent playlist from the late 90s that had these Gen Xers singing every word. We will be back for sure.

Michael T.

Yelp
Went here on a Monday and the kitchen was closed but they had. Pizza truck outside. Ordered The Yankee which was very good. Had their Underground and seven year beer. Both excellent. Disappointed that their kitchen was closed on Tuesday as well but their beer is great!

Yelp
Everything about this brewery is unique and well Done. They have the best IPA in Grand Rapids, great beer selection, fair prices, and unique gourmet food. They have lots of board games to help pass the time. Also, the owner is Latino and we have got to give a shout out for more minority owned breweries! Beer: 5/5. Try all the IPA and sours, they are either above average to great! While most IPA I had in Grand Rapids were malt forward and lacking nuanced citrus notes, this place nails it. The porter And barley wine were also great, and wish I could come back to try their seasonal stuff. Food: 5/5. The spicy chicken gumbo was gourmet, not the usual black and cayenne pepper mix. It had layers of flavor and just the right thickness. My wife had the fried chicken sandwich and she liked it too. They had salads as well for those being healthy Ambiance: 5/5. Plenty of bench and booth seating indoors, and some outdoor tables with shade. They had dozens of board games to help pass the time, which was ideal for my non-beer drinking friends. The vibe is busy, not loud. Value: 5/5. The quality of the beer and food matched the fair price. Not too fancy, just quality. Service: 4/5. Slight wait given the crowd, but the bartenders are friendly and efficient. Table service was for bussing and dropping food off, you will have to order at the bar. Overall, my favorite brewery during our weekend in Grand Rapids!

Mike S.

Yelp
The food, beer, and service are all excellent. The beer selection was pretty good and I really like this brewery. Based on both the food and drink menu I will definitely be back.

Ashley M.

Yelp
I really love City Built. The staff, food, and drinks are always great! Definitely a solid go-to for me. They don't always have table service/servers so keep that in mind if it's something you prioritize and want from your experience. They'll often have bar service such entails ordering your food and drinks at the bar and having someone bring your food out (along with water, etc.) Something I always appreciate about City Built is their flavors. They usually have several fruited sour beers which are my favorite, and they're delicious. There are always a few solid vegetarian options and worthy substitutes that don't leave you feeling dissatisfied. This past Friday I ordered their chicken tinga tacos and subbed out chicken for veggie fritters- they had diced sweet potatoes and I thoroughly enjoyed them. The medium salsa here is SO tasty and flavorful, I always order it! Yucca fries are tasty but for this visit there seemed to be more rosemary seasoning than in the past-- I enjoyed them, but FYI. Don't skip the beer cheese and spokes!

Yelp
Went to city built for a Saturday afternoon lunch when I got there a little before one there was only people eating outside I sat at the bar. Shortly after I had ordered the place filled up! You do have the option to sit inside or bring your food and drinks out side and sit at their outdoor tables or across the street by the river. I had a IPA beer called High Point it was a hazy IPA that was good but not my favorite. I ordered the smoked chicken wings with house rub they were good maybe a little to done but good. I ordered with ranch to dip them but ended up trying their pineapple barbecue sauce which I enjoyed. I also ordered the bori balls and those are a fun appetizer that are very different to share with friends. I did buy a few cans of beer to take home and they have really elaborate artwork on the cans which is really cool.

Eduardo A.

Yelp
Visited this brewery a week ago and the service and the atmosphere were amazing! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful . Sadly the food was the opposite , I ordered the chicken tacos and they had no flavor at all and my wife got the pork tacos and they were so saggy and bland that we couldn't eat it at all.

Letitia J.

Yelp
Ambience: Indoor was cute! The building was pretty clean. Seats are all wooden. Some booths, some long picnic tables. We opted to sit outside because it was nice out. They had large sun umbrellas over each table, which was nice. And the bathroom was clean! Service: you have to go up to the counter to order. To get the menu, they have a QR code you can scan, or you can also just ask them for one. Because we had to go up to the counter, I had to wait a couple of minutes if I needed something extra (like napkins or utensils)... it was not the most convenient. Food: the Bori Balls were delicious! Inside the balls is rice inside the crispy skin. I'd definitely recommend (and make sure you eat them hot!). Pork belly tacos were delicious and juicy. I loved their sauces that came along. I would highly recommend it. Yucca Fries were great too.

Nicole M.

Yelp
A must go to in Grand Rapids! This is such a unique place. Everything from the beers to the food to the atmosphere is done to perfection and very special. There is so much here that you just don't see at other similar places. The food is outstanding. The staff is great. The beers are amazing. Don't be afraid to try something you've never had before!

Brian D.

Yelp
Tried the bologna sandwich and it was fantastic. Great service and great beer! Milk Stache was full of flavor and didn't disappoint as well! If your looking for a chill place with cool people check it out!

Rob F.

Yelp
Great beer, great staff, awesome atmosphere. Owner operated, and he takes pride in being a great human and giving you a good experience.

Logan W.

Yelp
City Built has outstanding food and is in my top 3 breweries in all of MI. Everything they touch is gold, from their Puerto Rican cuisine to their outstanding beers and kombucha. You can never go wrong going here and it is definitely a go to spot. Beers: Prana, Childish Obsession, Elegant Elephant, and Base Jumper Food: Chicken Taco Meal with Puerto Rican Rice and medium salsa

Emily J.

Yelp
The menu here is so unique, and if you try something you've never heard of, I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised! This time we got a couple tacos (pork belly and chicken), some white chicken chili, and their fresh ass salad, but I'd also recommend trying the bori balls, and the shrimp and sausage! I got a sour lactose beer called the Childish Obsession, and it wasn't super tart or anything but it was delicious! There's both indoor and outdoor seating here, so no matter the weather, there's a good place for you!

Kyle S.

Yelp
Great gathering spot for a good beer and solid, but simple food. The tacos are outstanding. Service was excellent. The bartenders are definitely authentic and truly passionate about beer. 100% would recommend this place. We weee coming from Detroit and it compares to the best we have.

Don W.

Yelp
No food inside the restaurant. You have to order from a good truck outside, which was very average at best. The beers on tap where good. So either be a brewery only or do your food right.

Steve A.

Yelp
According to Google Maps, City Built Brewing Company is only 17 minutes from home, but we don't get to that part of GR often; maybe crossing under the highway is a mental barrier. The menu is small, but like Roam By Sanchez Tapas, the names/titles are as eclectic as the food. Grand Rapids' growing culinary options must keep creative menu authors busy. We started with Beer Cheese Queservesa- warm beer cheese, Spokes ( tasty funyon-ish chips) and tortilla chips. I think the small "vt" in the description means vegetarian. We were dubious until the first bite; then it was a crunchy frenzy. Don't forget the extra enthusiasm when ordering Bori Balls! (the exclamation point is right there in the menu) Puerto Rican Rice Croquettas- bacon & spiced ground beef. If hushpuppies & tater tots married, these would be their kids. Their richly textured, flavorful kids. (ugh, sorry). No ! in the title of Pastelillos but delicious ground beef pasties that do not lend themselves to questionable descriptions. Chased all of this down with beer, if you can believe it. The no nonsense Prague Underground was crisp. The 3 Hour Stout is worth the wait. I sort of expected a candy corn aftertaste with the Fluffy Unicorn, but its subtle sweetness was a good liquid desert. I'm continually impressed with the service in GR. Friendly, efficient, enthusiastic and patient as I fumbled with the Beer City Brewsader app. I can't tell from the service we routinely enjoy that there's a labor shortage.

Susan H.

Yelp
A group of 5 of us went for the first time. Other than the teenager who downed his chicken wings quickly, the rest of us were underwhelmed with a soggy jackfruit taco that seriously needed some spice/cilantro/personality, nachos (two kinds), and beer cheese. Beer is good, though.

Brian W.

Yelp
Come for the beer, stay for the food! Insanely good beer and food - it's a rare thing for a brewery but CBBC has executed both, incredibly well!

Spencer K.

Yelp
City Built Brewing company feels like a fresh modern brewery with some really nice brews. Definitely swing by City Built if you're thirsty.

Marisa S.

Yelp
Friendly people work here and the food was delicious! The beer cheese drip was creamy and the chopped burger was fire. The char on that thing was perfect. Fresh ingredients as you can see in my picture. You've gotta try their sour too - I normally don't like sours but theirs was really good. Tasted like a sweet candy from my childhood. We will definitely be coming back here when we're in town again!

Scot V.

Yelp
This place was delicious! Had 3 different types of tacos, I thought the shrimp was the best. You have to try the Yuca fries, such a unique difference from regular french fries. I only had one beer, the 5th street (I think) and it was really good. We sat inside with no wait. The place was lively and will definitely going back!. Check out the Roamaroo youtube channel for other cool places to visit in Grand Rapids.

Bobby B.

Yelp
Food was outstanding, service was amazing, if your looking for a great restaurant in down town Grand Rapids this is it!!!. My favorite is the shrimp po boy, it's clear the food is made with love. Thank you

Alec P.

Yelp
The drinks and food were amazing and the service was just outstanding. Edwin and Kay were fantastic, I haven't experienced that type of service and care anywhere else except from my own family at home. Thanks for the fun night and experience.

Andrea S.

Yelp
There aren't many breweries where I would go just for the food, but this is one of them! I always find at least a couple beers on tap that are fantastic - I usually get just a skosh or a DeVito sized so I can have a few. But the food you have to try: Bori balls, Chicken Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos, Puerto Rican Rice (I like to make this an entree by getting two and adding chicken - also get some cheese to put on it, consider it a menu hack). That rice is just amazing. If I only got one food item, that would be it. They also are on the family friendly side without it being too family friendly that it feels weird going out with friends, but I usually leave the kids at home. Side note, I appreciate how clean this place is. I always notice that.

Maggie G.

Yelp
We checked this place out because a friend recommended it. The bartenders were so friendly and extremely helpful. We ordered 2 flights and I got a seltzer. The seltzer was the only thing we had that was just okay. All the food was good, the beers were good and the vibe was great. I highly recommend the Yuka Fries. I also tried the kombucha and I was a big fan. I would recommend anyone try this place out.

Michael R.

Yelp
I really enjoyed eating and trying a few of the beers here. They make a beer named prana it was awesome. It's beer made with pineapple and coconut served ice cold taste like a pina colada. Yes I thought this is going to be gross but I took one sip and ordered 2. This is the best tasting summer beer I have ever tried. The food was ok just had a cpl of apps. It's right across the street from the park that runs along the river and they have an express window to order your beer and take a nice walk. Really good place highly recommend

Brittney L.

Yelp
Great beer! Great food! Great Staff! Amazing plants!!! This is always a great brewery to visit!

Jon D.

Yelp
Excellent brewery with top notch food. Chicken sandwich was just right. I had an excellent IPA. Great, relaxed brewery.

Yelp
Get the green apple hard seltzer! Beers were great! Staff was great! Location was great! Free parking in the back.

Yelp
Even if you were to step out of your vehicle into downtown Grand Rapids in search of a craft brewery you would be in very capable hands. In its center you would pass by Founder's Brewing Co. A stroll further down, Atwater. Hang a left and you're by Jolly Pumpkin. Although these breweries already have a national profile it's the lesser known local ones(at least from my neck of the woods)that offer the best experiences. City Built Brewing Company is exactly what its name states. It's a local brewpub entirely created with Michigan in mind but with a Puerto Rican twist. Firstly as people have alluded to parking can be precarious. However as an out of town visitor my motto, like the song from Accept is "Balls to the Wall." I don't know why but when I heard this place was downtown I envisioned a rough and tumble place. Instead this brewpub is absolutely charming with a sleek and modern interior. Although it is not too big there is booth seating, spots for window viewing and a counter space to order drinks. So I decided on sitting in a booth and seconds later a server appeared with a menu. In my opinion a brewery's menu or any menu for that matter can be revealing. How often new items are introduced or rotated reflects a place. This is where the Puerto Rican twist comes into play. While they offered a healthy variety of beers from light to dark, the counterbalance of Boriqua-centric plates made it unique. I definitely suggest trying some of their food items. For example they offer a Jibarito De Bistec(meats wedged between plaintains), camarones mofongo, chips with hot A.F. salsa but I implore you to try their Bori balls. In addition your safest bet is to either ask for samples, which they did oblige, or go with a flight. I usually do the latter then order a pint of the best tasting one. I tried their "Cascading to Darkness", " Danky McDankerton's" and "Orange Phantasy" all were stellar beers. To me a place can have a great ambiance and a solid product but it's really the people to include owners, staff that sell a place. Whilst imbibing one of the owners came to the table and introduced himself. He asked how the beers were along with the food. In that brief encounter I found out that he has made several trips to my hometown, even so far as to recall Jesse Trevino's iconic mural at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. Whenever possible a business should try to make a connection to its patrons. I appreciated that the owner took time to at least extend simple niceties. We might remember the smallest or biggest details in a visit. However we never forget how a place makes us feel when we leave. If you're ever in the Grand Rapids locale seek this place out. City Built Brewing Co. has great food, stellar beers, excellent service and that always equals to good times. ps. A guest DJ was playing Selena's "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" so I had to bust out my mad Cumbia skillz!

Nay W.

Yelp
Indoor seating. Outdoor seating in front of AND across the street in a huge tent. Once seated, scan qr code or go to far end of counter to order. Food & drinks are brought to table.

Jessica O.

Yelp
Easiest thing to say: they have the best shrimp tacos!!! Just get them. They're so good. I've only tried a couple of other items off the menu. I always have the intention of trying something new, but in the end I really just want the shrimp tacos again. However, I did see the Ensalada Fresca with shrimp added, and it looked absolutely killer, so I'll probably get that next time. When I first heard some of the beers they had on tap they sounded totally off the wall. I try a lot of breweries, but was very hesitant on some of their descriptions. I did do a flight the first time I was in and was very pleasantly surprised. They may come up with some interesting combinations or flavor profiles, but they do it very well. They also have a lot of different kinds of beers, which is nice because there ends up being something for everyone. I also like the amount of natural light and the bright color scheme. Overall I think it's a great addition to the Grand Rapids brewery scene!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. I wish I would have gotten names but the hostess who sat us was very welcoming and the gentleman behind the counter was knowledgeable of the menu and helpful with us in selecting what we'd like best. The food was delicious and well prepared. The plates are probably the right size portion which means for me (and probably most) could eat alot. Snow on Monroe beer was super tasty as well as their root beer. Got the chicken, pork, and cheese tacos which were all good but cheese one didn't have as much with it... got the medium and hot AF sauce with the chip sides and it was definitely a more tasty HOT mix which was very good and unique but the after taste left some heat on the tongue.

Misti M.

Yelp
The space was nice and made it a nice place to spend an hour hanging out. The merchandise was really quality. They are on the Tag a Brew Trail, if you collect tags. The names they have for the sizes of their drinks are comical. I won't ruin the surprise. I'd go back here.

Lisa R.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere- had yummy kombucha - the yucca fries were OMG amazingly delicious!!!!

Mike O.

Yelp
Nice space and good COVID distancing guidelines. Staff were friendly and efficient and were routinely cleaning in between customers. Loved the unique taproom and the patio out front. I'm told there's a big tent across the street in summer that would be excellent right along the waterfront. There's ample meter parking all around. Full disclosure, we only had time for one beer and some apps. I ordered the Fresas Y Frambuesas, a strawberry and raspberry lactose sour. It was delicious and tasted like fruit juice - with 5.5% alcohol. The Snow on Monroe looked insanely appealing but was too heavy for late spring. Would definitely go back. They had a good menu (very Mexican-inspired) and the staff was pleasant, something you're not always guaranteed at a brewery.

Andrea M.

Yelp
I've never loved a brewery more! Once we walked in, we were greeted by the nicest staff and told we could sit wherever was comfortable. I liked the multiple seating options, the greenery mixed with wood and metal with tons of open space and natural light. It's a place where you feel at home once you get there and seems like it could double as a great event space. Kay was our waitress and was extremely kind and accommodating!! The beer was FANTASTIC! I like sours and unique options which they had and they were actually very good! I felt the descriptions on the menu were spot on. Loved the small 4oz option and price point for all menu items. Owner Edwin popped out and chatted with us for a while. He was full of knowledge and so down to earth. It's beautiful to see an owner who really cares for the patron's experience. We had just eaten so we only had the yuca fries to snack on which were epic. We will be back again and again and try new things each time.

Kylie C.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour with a friend, and the only happy hour special(s) we ended up doing were our drinks. Service was quick, atmosphere was relaxed (& surprisingly family friendly...), and staff were friendly. My tacos were amazing. I asked the waiter what the top 2 tacos were and I was not led astray. The only downside to my tacos was that they weren't at all spicy (duh!). This was quickly taken care of by adding my salsa verde to them. The taco meal came with tortilla chips and salsa of your choice. The chips were just the right amount of salty. My friend ordered their version of shepherds pie - OH MY FLAVOR! Definitely recommend this dish if you have a big appetite. Alcohol selection was plentiful and wonderful (was hard to choose). Overall, this was a fun place to try and I look forward to the next!

Erica D.

Yelp
So good! We shared a flight and bori balls - don't skip them! This was the first place I've been that they've taken my temperature upon entrance and it was kind of nice knowing how serious they are. Everything was well spaced and clear. They had plenty of seating indoors and a communal area outside with lots of tables but not a ton of sun at 2PM. We felt safe and completely fine sitting inside. Would love to come back when we are in town and get more Ambrosia and other beers they only had in cans for takeout.

Sarah S.

Yelp
I checked out City Built Brewing this past weekend and had a good time! Big bright windows with a lot of natural sunlight, adorable area for kids to play while parents imbibe and friendly service paired with good eats and good drinks. City Built is a crisp, clean brewery that just celebrated their one year anniversary this past week and for that special occasion had some unique beers on tap. Their 6.6% Fluffy Unicorn IPA made with real & genuine ground unicorn horns is a staple on their menu. Well, I not only tried that fruity pineapple & vanilla concoction but also the Fuzzy Unicorn. A sparkling strawberry version to celebrate the anniversary! Both were light & refreshing, well balanced and delicious. Part of what sets City Built apart from other breweries is their Puerto Rican influenced menu making for a different than the usual brewpub food. The Bori Balls ($8) are a generously sized appetizer I actually ended up eating as my main. They are Puerto Rican Rice Croquettas stuffed with Bacon & Spiced Beef on a bed of Sofrito Cream - really good! I went on a normal Sunday afternoon but they do Happy Hour from 3-6pm Tuesday to Friday with special food menu prices & $2 off full pours. What?! Fabulous deal! They also have wines, meads (cool), pops, kombucha and a few ciders - they do it all here! Plus of course, many beers of all styles to suit your fancy. Between all the food & drink options, you'll surely find something that suits your needs. Excellent option for those living in the building & surrounding buildings but also a great destination spot in Grand Rapids!

Jen B.

Yelp
We were drawn here by the Puerto Rican food, and we were not disappointed. They had just won for their Grandwich, so we had to order it. It was so unique! The flank steak was nice and tender, and the fried plantain "bun" was great. We also shared their Longaniza y Lechon. The longaniza had a good heat to it, and everything else on the plate was tasty. We thought we might end up with leftovers, but everything was so good we cleaned the plates. They have a wide variety of beers, with many serving sizes and crowlers available. I enjoyed my strawberry sour. It was perfect for a warm summer day. The space is large and bright. I loved the touches of green throughout the space. There were quite a few families dining. Our server was friendly and helpful. Make sure to go for a walk afterwards across the Sixth Street Bridge.

Jen G.

Yelp
City Built is a fun brewery downtown! Plenty of outdoor seating and they have a Beer To Go window. Chicken tacos were yummy and so were the beef ones. Staff was great, they were slammed on a Wed night but still got everyone taken care of.

Yelp
City Built is one of the rare places you can find true Puerto-Rican inspired food in the area, and all I'm gonna say is - try the tacos. ⁣ ⁣ City Built brews their craft beer right in house. If you're curious, you can take a virtual tour via their website! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you haven't heard yet - City Built now has an alter ego: "Li Grand Zombi." What exactly does that mean? Well, we are going to leave that up to you to figure out when you visit. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ BUT, we will share that it means they will be offering a Creole-inspired dish every week only from Thurs-Saturday. We are obsessed with this idea! City Built is always impressing us.

Yelp
You got it!!! Social distancing and customer service who is on top of their game. Also the menu is one that combines Latin American/Caribbean cuisine that will make you want to comeback. Their beers are delicious and I was able to sample the incredible vibe of this place. Keep it going! Grand Rapids is lucky to have

Yelp
Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. The best beer we have had so far in Grand Rapids. The Puerto Rican menu is a nice change from other pub menus. The food is fresh and delicious. The yucca fries and pork tacos were amazing. From the beer to the food everything was top notch. On average their beer was an Untapped 4+.

Yelp
In a city full of award-winning breweries, the standard is high. City Built Brewing is a decent brewery, not the best in the city, but average. Here are the pros: 1) Space: It's a large space on the bottom floor of a new building. They have a big bar and plenty of seats at booths, long tables, and smaller tables. In the front, they have a play area for kids with toys and games. Our toddler loved it! 2) Location: It's north of downtown close to a coffee shop, a hotel, and a few other bars. 3) Sours: They have two sours on tap- TKBY with Strawberry Hibiscus and TKBY. They didn't taste like sours, but if you don't love beer, they are good options. 4) Food: The menu is large and they make Puerto Rican food. My shrimp tacos were good. Here's where they need to improve: 1) Beer: Overall, there's better beer in Grand Rapids. 2) Service: It was terrible. Maybe it was trivia night throwing off the servers, but we had to hunt down our server around ten times.

Yelp
Pretty delicious beers! I like the outdoor seating area. My favorite beer was the Canal Street Porter w coconut coffee! The ambrosia was described as a fruited sour but tasted more like cider than anything to me. Very very sweet. Overall I liked City Built, it's worth checking out.

Yelp
I'll be honest, I was excited to try some Puerto Rican deliciousness... but walked away a bit disappointed. The food is plated beautifully, but very mediocre in taste. I ordered a couple of chicken tacos a la carte & some potato and fish croquettes off of the happy hour menu. (I recommend the bori balls over the potato and fish ones.) The chicken taco lacked flavor and the shell was a bit too crusty to eat without making a mess of myself haha. While I don't think the food would bring me back, they have weeknight games running here at random... check out the gaming schedule if that's something you're into! They have lots of cider and beer options (no liquor) if you're looking for a quick drink after work or a quieter option on the weekend and want some easy parking.
