"Barkeep-owner Chris Keil blurs the lines between kitchen and bar with his expertly composed cocktails, including saffron-cardamom whiskey old fashioneds and margaritas goosed with pear brandy. The food menu features excellent burgers for vegans or omnivores, handmade pastas, an ever-changing menu of house pickles, and the best pimento cheese in Tacoma." - Meg van Huygen, Sue Kidd

En Rama is one of our longtime favorites. Their pasta is even better the next day with an egg and hot honey. The rotating pastas are very good. The pimento is also delicious. Even for just a cocktail it's worth a stop.

Consistently one of the best restaurants in Tacoma and one of my favorite restaurants in Washington. The menu is incredible, with bites and drinks that are always intentional and exceptional.

My husband and I were really looking forward to trying this place out, but unfortunately, we were met with some disgruntled behavior from the person that greeted us, which gave us such bad vibes that we ended up leaving before even ordering anything. Maybe this person was having a bad day, which I can understand, but it shouldn't impact customers trying to dine at your restaurant. I will preface this by saying that my husband is HYPER diligent about making sure we don't get to a restaurant too close to their closing time. We want to be respectful. We're both past service industry workers, so we get it. We got to En Rama before 9:10pm. They close at 10pm. There is no posted sign anywhere about kitchen closing at any particular time - at least not that we saw. We figured getting there when we did was perfectly fine. Our plan was to quickly sit at the bar and order swiftly. The person that greeted and sat us, seemed exasperated and reminded us pretty swiftly that the restaurant closes at 10. We told her that we knew that and just wanted to have a quick drink and a bite. So, we sat at the bar, she gave us our menus and said she'll be back in a few minutes. 1.5 minutes later, she's back and asks us what we want. I asked for a few more minutes to take in the menu a bit more as we didn't have enough time to decide. She (rudely, in our opinion) said that we had 3 minutes to decide. At that point, we put our menus down and left. We felt like we were there at a respectful time and we didn't appreciate the sour attitude and being rushed to that capacity. If your kitchen closes at a particular time, you should post that so everyone is on the same page.

We only stopped here for a drink. They had a good selection. The food that went by looked and smelled good nut we didn't eat. The server wad great, the drunk telling off color loud jokes at the next table was not.

Google
Loved everything about this place. It has real nice vibe to enjoy your date night and all the food and drink were perfect. Among dishes we ordered, mussels in white wine garlic sauce with a side toast was exceptional.

Google
Though a little hard to find the entrance, En Rama was a delightful afternoon happy hour turned early dinner experience. Located inside the Tacoma Court House, En Rama has an incredible cocktail program and a Spanish/Italian leaning menu. We arrived shortly after opening and sat on the patio. We ordered the house bread which turned out to be fresh focaccia and ordered cocktails from the happier hour menu. Starting with the boquerones fritos with our drinks, we eventually ordered the patatas bravas, the octopus in olive oil, and the paccheri pasta for our main meal. I had never had that shape of pasta before and was extremely convenient to order as there are options for a half or full size. I would definitely recommend En Rama for a variety of occasions; date night, happy hour, casual drinks, meal with friends.

Delicious Food and dessert. Friendly staff . Expensive but worth visiting.

The Tacoma dining scene is definitely on the rise. Cozy dining room/bar with a small, yet flavorful menu of small bites and entrees. I highly recommend En Rama’s take on clam chowder. Reservations are a must due to the small space.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Beware the restaurant is tiny. Service was top notch and oysters were fresh

Yelp
This quaint, intimate restaurant is located within the courthouse square of downtown Tacoma. My girlfriend and I visited on a Tuesday evening and were seated quickly, but I've been turned away on prime days like Friday and Saturday due to its popularity as a date night spot. I can see why this is a must-eat Tacoma destination. The servers were laid-back but showed a deep passion for the food and cocktails, all handcrafted in-house, complemented by the courthouse's very cool aesthetic. My girlfriend and I tried the patatas bravas, hot honey Brussels, and shared the bucatini. The food was fresh, but the portions were fairly small for the price point. Even sharing the pasta, it would have only taken three bites to finish. The drinks were okay; my palate didn't quite mesh with most of the handcrafted cocktails. The standout dish of the night was the patatas bravas. I believe this place is a must-try in Tacoma, but it might be a "one and done" experience.

Yelp
We had a yummy time, enjoying the food and service from the kitchen and the bartender James. He made some pretty amazing cocktails! Even introduced us to an orange wine, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The oysters were fresh and accompanied by a citrus mignonette which was a new twist for me ( I do prefer a raspberry but this was also delish). I enjoyed the crab pasta salad which was filling as an entree for me. He enjoyed the burger and fries. I didn't get much of a look around the place, it was small and low lit, but there were three tables open and some seats at the bar. We were offered bar seats, the host stated they had reservations on them but we stayed until close and no one ever came nor did he offer to move us after two courses and several rounds. I did deduct points there for a poor hosting experience, unfortunately. Outside the restaurant was an interactive art installment ... a slug that you can sit under and hear "watery" sounds haha. That was the highlight of the night aside from the great bartender banter and service.

Yelp
This place is very special to me and my boyfriend. For our 1st anniversary, we ate here! It's a small place but they have incredible food! Our first time/first anniversary here, we had a conversation with an old couple that noted our energy towards one another which was special to remember! So you do meet many people who will sit next to you since the seats are close together but not too much that it feels like personal space invasion lol. My boyfriend loves the charcuterie board they have. We've had their pasta dishes which are delish! Recently we came back the weekend after Valentine's Day and had their pimento cheese with bread and pickled veggies. We got so much pimento cheese that we brought it back home! En Rama is tucked in the old post office/ courthouse so when you walk in, it will be to your right. They have these nice big ball light fixtures centered one by one in the lobby entrance before you head in to the restaurant. The old post office/ courthouse holds its historical presence. They also have an outdoor patio area, which I believe has heated lamps. They also had a very cozy playlist of music going. Recommend calling -- since reservations are a must, they usually book out in advance. Service has been great! Definitely recommend!

Yvette F.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday. The wait staff is amazing. Attentive without being annoying. Food was brilliant although I'd skip the charcuterie board . Make a reservation as they get busy!!!

Belldandy O.

Yelp
Very mid experience for my first time here. We had a reservation, so getting seated wasn't too big of a deal. The staff and workers were friendly and apologetic, but it took FOREVER for our food to come out. It almost made me question if they forgot about us. I am pretty sure we waited like 45 minutes to an hour for our food. The food we ordered was okay, but not really worth the wait especially if you are hungry. I would consider coming back again since it looks like the menu changes every now and then.

Kelle O.

Yelp
This was our second time eating here. I made reservations online to eat inside, not knowing they didn't have air conditioning on a 95° day. That was totally my bad, and the heat made the whole experience challenging. The air was pretty stifling and we sweated our way through the meal. The service was great again and so was the food. I had the risotto with chorizo (so good!) and my BF had the short rib ragu (also delish). The drinks were just okay this time. I don't drink alcohol so I had the hibiscus mule mocktail. It was okay. My boyfriend had their margarita though and oddly it has sherry in it, which he felt made the drink taste like vinegar. We probably wouldn't order either of those again. Great food here, but we'd have enjoyed it on a much cooler evening had we known. We'll be back in the fall.

Emma B.

Yelp
Such a great ambiance, and the staff was very friendly! I loved my bolognese pasta, and the pimento cheese appetizer we ordered. Highly recommend this spot for a date night.

Darcie G.

Yelp
First time here. My husband found and we went because it was near our home. The menu was simple the food tasted authentic and homemade Service was amazing and loved the vibe. Small restaurant I would recommend reservations but definitely worth the wait!! Highly recommend this restaurant

Diana Q.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service. We had happy hour cocktails, $10 old fashioned drinks from 4-5. The only drawback was our dinner time. We arrive for our 4:15 reservation due to no other accommodations being provided. We saw two open tables and bar seating while we ate during our meal but maybe those others had canceled. We enjoyed the charcuterie board, Chelsea gem oysters, meatballs and the bolognese with soft egg on top. The extra saltiness from the bed of salt on the oysters, perfectly chosen cheeses on the charcuterie board (great blue cheese choice, excellent jam), balanced meatballs with the fresh pasta and rich cream sauce for our main entree. We did street parking but there is a parking lot nearby. Would definitely return.

Jusstis W.

Yelp
I had a en Rama burger with sweet potato fries. Burger was pretty good and the sauce was a nice touch. I was a little disappointed they no longer have ricotta b/c of a switch in the kitchen.

Jasmine S.

Yelp
We came in 13 mins after they opened, I told him we needed a table for 5 he said okay in a cheerful voice and the moment my fiancé came inside with my 4 year old niece his whole demeanor changed and with zero hesitation he said they were fully booked and set the menus back down. In the photo you can see that they were completely empty and had several tables that could seat 5. We also walked a little and passed this location on two separate occasions once within an hour of being turned away and the second was several hours after and they had room on both occasions. They clearly are not kid friendly, but for future reference, just allow people to know that you are not a kid friendly establishment instead of blaming it on space! Very disappointing experience

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner with the husband. It was great overall, and I'm really glad we chose En Rama for the delicious food and service. Inside is quite small and not very intimate - and after an 88 degree day, it was still warm at 7pm, but not super hot as we were seated by the patio door. (Covered patio looked expansive and comfortable!) BUT we could hear the entire conversation of the 2 seated very close to us... a 1st date. :) The girl was very into it, lots of laughing! Haha. Times like this I'm glad to be old and married... Service was great. Takes awhile to be greeted, but they are clearly slammed and at full capacity* on a Sat night. Once we ordered everything came out quickly with personable service. BREAD - A+, pull-apart soft goodness with whipped butter PASTA - B+, Made from scratch, great flavors (I wanted more cheesy) BURGER - A-, smash burger w/ 2 patties (they were out of fries unfortunately but salad was fresh) BREAD PUDDING - $12, super good but we were so full! I love when a restaurant boxes up your leftovers FOR you. Recommend getting a reservation - they do 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm seatings. Not a good place for a large group unless you call far in advance.

Anna W.

Yelp
Went to En Rama for the first time this week and loved it. Very small & cozy setting, the staff was all extremely friendly, and the pasta I had was AMAZING. The wine pour was a tad light and the old fashioned my date had seemed light as well, but very good anyway. Will definitely be back!

Ceivy M.

Yelp
En Rama is a Top 10 restaurant of Tacoma, no doubts about it. The menu is seasonal and prone to change. I've never ordered something I didn't love. I still think about an ox tail pasta I had here years ago, the best dang meal I've ever had in my life, I dream with that pasta. The only issue is how crowded it can get. The restaurant is cozy and small. It's definitely not the place to be if you're trying to stay socially distant (unless the outside patio is open). The last time I went in, my table was located right outside the kitchen. My clothes smelled like grease by the end of the night. If you are a foodie, En Rama is a must.

M N.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong. This place is good. But I cannot stand how they are trending in the direction of other hipster places and overcharging for small portions and taking away half size portion options. This place has changed and idk if it's for the better. The bucatini was good but it was $24 for no meat and a portion so small you can finish it in three bites. They used to offer half and ful portions here and the half portions used to be more food than what their full is now. It's just a disappointment. Food is good but not for the price.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to do the Chef's Prefix NYE Menu, and we were lucky to get a 6pm reservation. When we arrived we only had to wait a few minutes before being sat. We were promptly greeted by our server and our first taste arrived shortly after. I decided for my drink to do the bartender's choice, where you let the bartender know your likes/dislikes. And she made the most amazing beverage, I ended up getting a second (and I don't usually finish a drink when I buy one). My husband ended up doing that as well and he really enjoyed his drink too. The food was amazing, and I love a chef's tasting menu because it allows me to try things I normally wouldn't. The 3rd course was in a not ice cold but not warm broth with a garlic whip and lobster. I am not a cold soup person but I actually really enjoyed it (probably would've liked it more hot). The lobster was cooked perfectly. There ended up being a mixup and our dinner course ended up to the table next to us so we ended up waiting a bit for it, but it was actually nice just to sit for a bit. Overall really enjoyed our experience and hope they do more of these in the future. The chef came out and came around to the tables, and he mentioned they hope to do more events like this.

Yelp
Everything about this place is 5 stars. Super intimate and dimly lit. Only about 7-8 tables inside, which I love. Impeccable Service from our waitress Jessie, and food that made us say mmmm, Omg & yummm! I highly recommend ordering the 1/2 size portions of pasta, so you can try more food with your date. This place is meant to be ordered as small plates and tastings of things. Would NOT recommend trying to do the typical appetizer then entree setup here. The Acorn Squash & Shaved Brussels was wonderful. The homemade focaccia bread with the Mussels was hands down our favorite dish. We also had the Mushroom Buccatini which was wonderfully earthy. Cocktails were delicious. Such a great date night spot!

Shelbi G.

Yelp
Decided to go here with one of my girlfriends to catch up. We decided to try this place after looking at the pics and reading some reviews. Truthfully, I'm glad we came. First thing to know is that this is located in and older bank like building. We were confused on where to go. Once we got there, we saw the space was kind of small and intimate. So have a reservation. We didn't, so we sat at the bar. Didn't mind it too much. The drink I had, was tasty. Some "Netflix and Chill" type of drink. And the pasta, the pasta was *chefs kiss*. I would go back here again for dare night with the boyfriend.

Tripti B.

Yelp
Me and a friend visited this place for dinner after a visit to the Tacoma Armory. First the positives. The server was very positive, friendly and courteous. We ordered the lavender for a drink and it was so good, I ordered a second one. We shared a plate of the pacheri pasta which was good, but not great. The boqerones fritto was overtly salty and overcooked to the point of being burnt. Very disappointing. The pina colada trifle was delicious but I felt the portion size was small for the price. The ambiance is nothing to write home about. It's extremely cramped and looks like a regular pub. It does not justify the high menu prices. My overall experience at this place was average and I would rate it 3.5 stars if that was an option. I would probably give it a miss , the next time I am in the Tacoma area.

Sophia Y.

Yelp
It was evident that this place is a popular spot in Tacoma and it didn't disappoint! It was going to be around 45-60 minute wait without a reservation on a Friday evening. Luckily it was still feasible to do outdoor dining on a balmy November evening and we were able to be seated right away. We started with a few drinks - both were so tasty but the carajillo was just fabulous. Ordered the cockles in brine and Caesar salad to start (Caesar per the recommendation of our very nice and attentive waitress) - the salad definitely filled with delicious anchovy flavors and crispy croutons. We then had mussels and lentil stew which both were lovely with grilled toast pieces. Dinner progressed with hot toddy & baby Netflix and chill drinks and finished the meal with an affogato drowning bread pudding. Oh so delicious. Although it seemed the entire meal was heavy on bread and toast, they seemed to be able to accommodate a couple next to our table that has celiacs disease very well. Lovely dinner experience and our waitress was seriously one of the sweetest ever! Definitely worth the wait and popping in if you're in the area!

Shannen R.

Yelp
This place has always had amazing food and drinks! My last time in I was told they have new owners and it has made ALL the difference in the service. Before, if I didn't have a reservation, I was always snubbed and treated like an inconvenience, so I hesitated coming here when my sister surprised me with a visit. I decided it was worth a try and this time around, the hostess was friendly, accommodating, and even checked on us to see how we were enjoying our meal. Our bartender was incredible and I was so impressed to hear it was only his 2nd week on the job! I am pregnant and he made me some delicious mock-tails. Not only that, but he and the chefs accommodated my picky and specific pregnant tastebuds. This will definitely be a MUCH more regular spot for me!

Joey S.

Yelp
Ambiance, style, personable waitstaff, Delicious! tapas. Great stop protecting to our club show.

Karin O.

Yelp
The food of course is amazing and def worth freezing outside. Love that they put up a structure to block the wind and rain. Could def use some heat out there. Bundle up or bring a blanket. Cocktails and Food come as they are and don't ask for anything outside the menu. Server was new but energetic. Make sure you have time to sit and relax.

Becky O.

Yelp
We were excited to go here ! Our friends were celebrating their birthday there were 6 of us. We could NOT sit together. We had 4 friends at one table and we had to sit in a different part of the restaurant as they don't sit 6 only 4. There were table empty next to our friends but Nope we couldn't sit with them. It was ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous! I would love to go back but being treated like this I believe this is wrong! The appitizers were good the entrees were just ok my shrimp smelled like fish, fresh seafood should not smell. We should have gotten to be seated together for a birthday celebration but No!

Maui M.

Yelp
I've loved En Rama since it opened. It's been a frequent visit every time I visit WA to see my family and it's my mom's and my favorite place to sit and have a nice cocktail. With Chris the owner, the service has been impeccable.

Shauntemarie G.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. A friend asked me to meet her here for dinner during the holidays so I jumped on the opportunity. Small and cute. We say at a higher top which I hate cuz I'm a little person and it's uncomfortable but whatever. On the to foodz That caesar was really good. There were a few little anchovies in there. Not too much dressing. Croutons were fresh. The Mac n cheese was made with chorizo I think. It has a little sweetness to the sauce. At first I wasnt sure if I liked it but... I did. It was good. The more I ate it the more I wanted. Both drinks were good. I'd get the vermouth again.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Second visit here. I've been following on Instagram and it's been making me Hungry. The food and the service are fun, interesting and worth it. Try everything on the menu! Also- the menu changes with the season so come often! They do free meals during the week and half priced bottles of wine on Tuesday nights. The cookies and milk are amazing. It's real food made with love.

Catalina G.

Yelp
Service was great, definitely felt welcomed in. The burger was delicious. It's a little hidden but I look forward to visiting again when I'm in town

Eddie J.

Yelp
Located at the corner of A St & S. 11th in downtown Tacoma, this Italian & Spanish inspired cocktail bar feels like a cozy hideaway inside the historic Courthouse Square building. En Rama serves up classic & signature cocktails, small & large plates, seafood, pasta, and great desserts! Recommendations: 1) Netflix & Chill Cocktail. Involves Jamaican Rum and a little fire! 2) The en Rama Burger was so juicy! 3) Bread Pudding for dessert!

Leah Y.

Yelp
Pretty good food! The bread and butter were so yummy! Other dishes were just alright, but above average for the area. Major downside is how muggy the restaurant gets during the summer. It seems like they don't have AC, and so it feels pretty miserable mid/late day with the ovens/stoves going. Had to move to a table next to the door as my husband and I were both feeling a bit unwell inside. I recommend sitting outside during the summer, if possible.

Kayla R.

Yelp
Came back again two days in a row with my mom and boyfriend and they loved it. Every person I bring here absolutely falls in love with place, the food and the ambiance. Very intimate and inviting and the drinks are always so good! I recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you want a table otherwise the bar is usually available for open seating.

Monica S.

Yelp
Le sigh. Okay. This one kind of sucks for me because the place itself is cute, it's inside a historic building and has Al fresco seating...but it left us scratching our heads during our entire visit. We did arrive towards the end of their shift, so that was on us. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was very nice. I think the menu is supposed to be Spanish, which, lol, but okay. As your locally annoying (actual) Spaniard, I'm always out to call these so-called tapas/Spanish places out because they're 99.9% not Spanish at all. So of course I wanted to try the patatas bravas. Well guess what? They were out of that. Okay, I chose some pasta dish. Guess what? Out of that too. Okay...can I have your burger? Sorry out of all potatoes unless you want a side salad. Lordt. Ok... what DO you have?? They starting listing a LOT of things they were also out of. So their small menu dwindled significantly, including their drink menu. We ended up having to pick the pine nut pasta (full size), the pimiento whatever, the meatballs and some drinks. Remember how they were out of things? Well we got served two of the regular 3 meatballs and the waitress said we would be comped for this. Okay...at this point we were expecting our food to not even come out because why wouldn't they run out of it as it's being put in? We get our food and I liked what we got. The meatballs and the tomato sauce definitely reminded me of my mom's sauce, so that was a plus but again, we got two small meatballs. My pasta was very filling and had an extremely light flavor, which if you like pine nuts, then you'll get it but my husband had the biggest gripe with his perception of it being flavorless. In fact, we added the meatball tomato sauce and it became 80% tastier. The pimento dip was tasty but oddly cold. Our drinks were fine. As we asked for the check, we were not comped for their meatball fiasco. We told the other waitress, who brought the check. She said, oh you're that couple? Let me fix that for you. She never returned and our waitress came by and has to go back in to look for it...and brought it back without any changes and left. At this point we were frustrated. We decided not to press on this and just not tip. Well she came back as we were filling it and asked if we had been comped. We said no. She literally said, oh gosh I don't want to affect anything, let me go change it. Uh huh. Clever girl. Would I recommend? Sure, for a drink and app after work if you're local. Otherwise, there are other places in Tacoma that are better and similarly priced.

Kelly Z.

Yelp
Came here for my partner's birthday, and it was the best dinner we've had in years. We got the risotto, the mac and cheese, and the short rib pasta. We finished with the bread pudding affogato. Every dish was perfect. So was every cocktail. The service was also excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough. This place is such a gem.

Lillie A.

Yelp
Ended up coming here because a different place had no seating. They offer outdoor and indoor seating but I came on a Saturday night and all that was available was bar seating. I got a nice window seat. Wish my water would've got filled up more than once. They didn't have a great menu for a pescatarian but I got a nice meal. The lighting inside was way to dim to take pics of my food without flash so I could not take pics after the sun set. Will come here again and hopefully get outdoor seating.

Mary F.

Yelp
I have never had a bad meal or experience here. The staff are gracious and friendly, the food well thought through and delicious, the ambience amazing. Tacoma is so lucky to have a place like this. Of note, the chickpea appetizer, their old fashioned and just about any pasta dish.

Ali M.

Yelp
I've eaten food here/from here 8 times in the last 5 years. Great few experiences before Covid, and during the shut down we got meals to go as well as "make your own meals". This was my second time back post Covid closures and the first really relaxed meal. The last time was good but not excellently curated like it was the first few times. It was largely a series of little things that added up to my current rating. Their lavender drink was one I loved so much when I first tried it that I scienced at home until I had a replica. The one I had with dinner was not that good, and it wasn't garnished like it used to be, and I do feel the pain of paying for a fancy cocktail so do need the lemon zest or a few lavender flowers sprinkled on it so I feel fancy. Date got a bartender's request drink which didn't meet the fruity tropical request in either of our opinions. Netflix and Chill however was amazing with complex depth. Pimento cheese appetizer was tasty but 3 pieces when it's largely a date night destination for two seems poorly thought out, messy sort of thing to cut in half to share. My paccheri pasta was excessively al dente, which was too bad because the flavors were amazing, so I didn't eat much of it. My date's pasta was well cooked but the flavors were bland. Radish sprouts were on everything (and they are great, but it was odd they were on all three dishes). On the environment level, we were seated outside, and the table was wobbly which isn't something I find OK when you have a small craft cocktail that can easily tip over. The server was casual and inattentive, not rude - the table closer to the building got water refills without the server looking the three feet more to us to check on us (I wanted more water), and later filled my date's water but not mine. No checking to see if the food was OK, no offer for a to go container when I asked for the bill even though there was enough on my plate to expect a server would at least ask if I wanted a box. I'll likely go back again to check, because my pre-Covid meals there were so full of contentment that I want quality food/drink/atmosphere to exist there again. Regardless, I do recommend everybody who can, try this restaurant, because it's a lovely experience most of the time.

Alex M.

Yelp
Risotto was seasonal, but so so good! Had it a couple weeks ago, I believe it's no longer available.

Wendi K.

Yelp
Cool spot with amazing cocktails and delicious small plates. Located in a industrial-ish area in downtown Tacoma. Food: We tried the bread ($3, unlike any focaccia I've had, THICK crust and delicious butter with flaky sea salt), mussels ($14, I could swim in that broth omg), risotto ($14, this was alright, the cheese gave it depth in flavor but the rice was a little crunchy), and burger ($12, amazing, gooey cheese and smashed style patties). Drinks: Baby Netflix-and-chill ($10) was incredible and very impressive looking. Lavender ($10) cocktail was very sweet and creamy, definitely a dessert drink. Also tried a the Mezcal Penicillin ($12), and a classic old fashioned ($10) which were both great. Service was an A+, good amount of outdoor seating with heaters.

Fiona K.

Yelp
If I could give En Rama a 10 star review, I really would. Each iteration of their seasonal menu is so well balanced in flavor, texture, and creativity. That includes their individually and uniquely crafted seasonal cocktail (arguably the best cocktails in Tacoma). It is the perfect spot for a date night or to bring an out of town visitor to show off what the Puget Sound food scene can offer. They also have a way of making you feel special or like you matter, with their impeccable service. For instance, we ended up making a reservation for the patio on a very brisk fall day (it was the only option available 5 days before the visit - make sure you plan ahead). The manager went out of her way to call ahead of our reservation and offer to squeeze us at the bar top if we preferred, which I gladly took her up on! Then when we arrived, she surprised us with in an indoor table that had been saved for us from a cancellation. If you are ever in Tacoma, En Rama is a must. I can't speak highly enough about this spot.

Agnes G.

Yelp
Delicious! Everything we tried was great, loved the pimento cheese toast and patatas bravas dishes in particular. The place is cozy, we were lucky enough to snag seats by walking in but reservations are recommended. Would definitely come back for a date night!

My first thought of this place was chic and cozy! Nestled in the corner of the courthouse, this is the perfect place for drinks and dinner on the patio. They also have a limited menu of small plates inside at the bar, which includes a small number of mostly 2-person tables. Servers are chill and prompt! Cocktails here are on point! I have been frequenting speakeasies for the last couple of years and this place absolutely did not disappoint. I got a mezcal penicillin, which had just enough spice and citrus to balance out the smokiness of the mezcal. Spanish tapas here are just as amazing as the drinks. We got the tinned sardines, pickled vegetables and pimento cheese. The cheese comes with a berried onion compote which at first I was confused about but once I layered that stuff on top of the cheese, it was a flavor explosion! Tinned items are not your average grocery store cans and definitely worth trying. The sardines weren't "fishy" and came with crostini, red peppers, flaky salt, and lemon to assemble and devour. They also have oysters on the half shell. I was so full already so that is for my next visit. Happy hour is Tues-Sat 3-5pm.

Yelp
We have always considered this to be a great bar and I was excited to share it with some friends this evening. However we were met by a hostess who proceeded to make us feel unwelcome. She kept insisting we were a large group and couldn't sit together, even though we didn't ask for that and came in at different times in small groups of 3-4. We did ask to sit near each other on the wide open empty patio and she made a huge fuss about that saying we couldn't pull up another chair at a large table, or sit more than 5 at a table or, or, or and if there were more of us we'd have to hear the "large-group policy". We said we would pay with one bill if that would help. Apparently that didn't help. She told one group they could only order one drink (at 4:30) because there were reservations coming at 6. I got up from my table to coordinate a dinner location and time with another group and she came bustling over like that wasn't ok. The bar was relatively empty when we arrived and there were still several tables open when we left. All together we were made to feel like we were imposing and not welcome. To be fair, the drinks were really good, and our server was awesome. She was kind and helpful and even, gasp, let us order a snack and second drink. We wrapped up well before 6. It will be awhile before I return or encourage any friends to patronize this bar.

Yelp
Keep Carly as long as you can, they are great at being a host and server. Very prompt and polite in a genuine/kind manner. The bartender human is awesome at what they does! I asked for something light, refreshing and not to sweet to pair with my oysters and boy was that drink perfect. The bartender's special was the Walking Spanish- A Pisco tonic with cherries. The oysters come with a tasty lemon infused salt bed and cava mignonette. The mussels are lavishly bathed with a buttery bacon garlic lemon broth with a hint of smokiness. Everything is chopped precisely for easy consumption except for the pig bits (I wish they were smaller cubes) Everything was perfectly tender. These guys know what they are doing! Don't regret missing out on such exquisite flavors Thank you En Rama!

Yelp
I gotta say this is one of my fav places hands down. I've been wanting to come here for a long time. My partner and I finally had the chance to come on our anniversary and it was an amazing experience. The ambiance was so inviting, it felt like you were eating out of a friend or family kitchen. The staff was so friendly. They gave great recommendations. The food was well thought of. The complex flavors I would never think to pair together work so well. Every dish that came out had beautiful presentation. It was an immersive experience. To the staff of En Rama: Thank you so much for bringing a unique menu with new and wonderful flavors to our city. We look forward to explore more of your menu. Side note: no photos were taken because we were too busy taking it all in.

Yelp
Such a cute spot to catch up with friends over a drink and appetizers. Staff here are chill and super friendly as well. Would recommend to anyone in Tacoma!

Yelp
This restaurant is as amazing! The food & service was also outstanding. My boyfriend and I started with the mussels which had the most amazing and explosive flavor I've had in sautéed mussels. It was the perfect balance of savory; tad sweet and spicy. The house made bread was fluffy and baked to perfection. I highly recommend the Pistachio Tagletelle!! Noodles cooked Al dente and the pistachio cream sauce was perfect. I like how you can order half or full portions as well. My boyfriend ordered The stewed Rabbit with Gnocchi as his entree and was very delicious in flavor. Overall I give this experience 10/10. Waitress was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable with the menu.

Yelp
Tiny little place, they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. We had the fresh bread, muscles, Cesar salad, burger and bread pudding! We took 1/2 home we ordered way too much. The vibe was very cool and the food was top notch!

Yelp
Usually this has been a great place to eat, but the service we recently had was slow. We arrived in early for a 5:15 reservation and it was 6:15 before we were served our food. This was a Saturday night. We would have ordered a dessert, but didn't have the time since we had a concert to get to at 7:00 Shouldn't have to wait that long for service or food.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised at how amazing their food was! Staff are very friendly and they seem to genuinely love and passionate about their food. They make everything from scratch. Very good, fresh , and light pasta dishes. **If you like the big chain Italian restaurant with lots of cheese and heavy cream. This place is not for you** We ordered the "clam chowder." If you think of a bowl of soup, delete that thought. It has fresh, amazingly tastes clams l, handmade sausage in a light sauce on top of two slices of yummy bread! Very creative and tasty! Their coffee is excellent as well. The coffee flavor hit you at the end and stay. Unlike the common sweet -sweet coffee bread pudding is addicting because their bread is so good.
