"As the name implies, this farm-centric restaurant, owned by chef-turned-farmer Lisa Becklund and her wife Linda Ford, is for locavores. Becklund defected from the West Coast to try her hand at farming (before everyone was doing it). She has developed something of a cult following as the host of multicourse Living Kitchen dinners on the couple’s farm in Depew, Oklahoma, which blend rustic and fine dining. In 2020, the duo finally brought the farm dinners to the city with Farm Bar. Make a reservation (they’re required) for a weekend dinner, when you can sample the signature multicourse tasting menus. Walk-ins are welcome during the casual service on Wednesdays and Thursdays, when customers can choose between an a la carte or five-course prix fixe menu. Tuesday is Burgers & Barbera night, when you can score a $10 burger with a $10 glass of Barbera wine." - Jess Brent

"There’s a really great place called FarmBar, and the owners have a destination farm restaurant called the Living Kitchen. They actually moved here from Seattle years ago because they wanted to give up city life and start a farm. And they started the Living Kitchen where they use all locally sourced ingredients. You’ll go and it’ll be like, ‘Oh, this is a wildflower salad,’ or whatever that they pick there on the land. It’s a really amazing place." - Monica Burton

What an amazing experience! The astomophere is quaint and cozy. We loved sitting at the chefs bar so we could ask questions and watch as he prepared our courses. We did the 10 course dinner and selected our own alcoholic drinks. Everything was delicious. The chef was so nice and down to earth. It's definitely a treat for any foodie looking for delicious, locally sourced, fresh food. The anniversary card signed by the staff was so kind also.

My wife and I shared an outstanding 10 course meal. This restaurant is the real deal! The people, the food, the ambience…top notch. Service is friendly and attentive. Sitting at the bar gives the opportunity to watch the chefs in action and when they have a few moments, great conversation! They are passionate about food and it really comes through in the flavors and presentation. This is the best farm to table experience we’ve had anywhere! You can taste the difference when food is locally sourced! Can’t recommend them enough!

Google
What an amazing culinary experience. I found myself in Tulsa on Thursday night and was able to get a seat at Farm Bar and partake in their 5-course prix fixe dinner. Every course was fantastic. Highlights for me were the duck perogi and the Romanesco. Such a treat!!

FarmBar’s Multi-Course Chef’s Tasting offered on Friday & Saturday nights is the best meal you can find in Tulsa. It is eclectic, delicious, and a perfect showcase of the freshest, most local ingredients available. The Chef’s Tasting is a culinary journey that highlights the natural flavors of Oklahoma’s produce. Our favorite dishes included Turnip & Apple Carpaccio, Candy Roaster Squash, and Pear Ginger Mousse Cake. FarmBar’s staff provided outstanding service throughout our dinner by offering detailed descriptions of each course coupled with friendly banter. We made our reservation months in advance and had very high expectations by the time our date arrived. In brief, FarmBar delivered on many levels and far exceeded everything we hoped. Cannot wait to return if we find our way back to Tulsa. Bravo friends!

What a wonderful experience!! I'm so thankful. My wife and I got to visit when we were in tulsa in September!! The staff was phenomenal, and the insight they shared next level. How they explained the courses and the sourcing was so neat. The courses themselves were unique and so flavorful. The wine pairing recommendations were spot on. Tried new styles I've never heard of and was educated as well!! The best part is the menu changes monthly so you can visit the same restaurant but it be entirely different just a month later. Love the locally sourced meal!! Likely the best meal I'll enjoy this year!!

Google
One of the finest meals I've ever had. We ate the 5 course tasting menu and every dish was superb. The wait staff is attentive, they allow you time to enjoy and talk about each course, and their descriptions of the courses are fascinating. So we decided to go back for the 10 course meal. It was a stellar experience in every way. The chefs came out and answered questions about the dishes and if I were to try to describe each course I would run out of superlatives. Out of the 10 courses only the hamachi (yellowtail) missed the mark. The star of the meal was the watermelon tataki, it was an explosion of taste and smell that was absolutely divine. We will be back.

I was a little hesitant to go because (1) I thought it might be pretentious (2) everyone I know who went raved, and I thought surely it couldn’t be THAT good. Readers, it was so beyond my expectations. My friend and I had the 5-course prix fixe menu and it was incredible. Every course was unusual delicious fresh flavors and beautifully presented. The service was great, and the ambiance was chill and peaceful. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back for an occasion!

Wow, what a gem to have in Tulsa. Zach and and the team are doing something special here. A true farm to table experience and you can taste the nuance and thought that goes into each dish. What a treat and I will be making it back soon.

Yelp
Our special occasion dinner experience here really deserves the coveted 6th star. The team at Farmbar exceeded our expectations around every corner. Yes, it was the most expensive meal I've had in the last 10 years, maybe ever, but the Farmbar team really rose to the occasion and knocked it out of the park. The food was spectacular. Unexpected layers of flavors and delightful pairings. It's obvious that the food is made with love. The menu is all locally sourced ingredients which of course means it is seasonal and ever changing. The chefs in the kitchen really impressed us. Each plate was so well crafted and seemed so intentional. I wish I had a better camera. There were times as the evening progressed that in the cozy lighting my photos were just bad as I tried to capture the delicate details of our plates. The intimate dining room transformed as day turned into night. The coziness of the space enveloped us as we traveled along one of the most special culinary experiences of our lives. The team behind this dinner program from the chefs, to the local producers, to the hospitality team-everyone does their part and goes the extra mile and that was evident to us. Every special detail was a surprise and truly made the evening one of the best we've ever had. I highly recommend a special occasion dinner at Farmbar. If you know a foodie in your life, get them a Farmbar gift card! August 2024

Yelp
My boyfriend and I rang in the new year here and had an amazing time. We love to experience local farm-to-table restaurants as well as delicious tasting menus, and FarmBar definitely delivered on both! The food itself was delicious and clearly very fresh, but overall the ingredients and their combinations felt very safe, resulting in the least experimental tasting menu experience I've had the privilege to try. Some of the earlier courses were very filling as well, and I felt very full around the third or fourth of ten courses, and I was unable to finish a few courses in the later half. That's saying something because I'm usually a bottomless pit. These points are all probably positive things for many people, but takes the rating down a notch for me. When booking your reservation, you have the option to sit at the "bar"/countertop overlooking the kitchen, in the indoor dining room, or the outdoor patio. "Bar" is in quotation marks because even though "bar" is in the name of the restaurant, they don't actually have a full bar- alcohol options are pretty much limited to the cocktails, beers, or wines they specifically have listed on the menu. If you are a party of 2 and choose the indoor dining room, you will get seated at a four top table with a couple of strangers. We weren't prepared for that at first and were initially taken aback, but ended up forming a wonderful bond with the people we were seated with for dinner. The intimate atmosphere of the restaurant and the natural conversation pieces of the tasting menu really helped grease our socializing gears. Not sure if this is the case when sitting outside though, since it was too cold to seat anyone on the patio when I went. Highly recommend this restaurant for the social aspect alone; between this, the amazing service, and the intimate atmosphere, the tasting experience was so unique.

Yelp
I was surprised with a birthday dinner at Farmbar and was blown away. They had a Happy Birthday card at our table and the dessert came with a lit candle. We were tended to by all of the servers throughout dinner - they were attentive and they taught us a lot about our meals and where they were sourced. We ordered the Prix Fixe dinner, one vegetarian. And, wow! There seemed to be a common theme between each course, we were impressed with their creativity. We found everything delicious and we were licking our plates after each item. The ambiance was an elevated and intimate vibe. It wasn't loud and we were very comfortable. This experience will go in the memory books!

Yelp
In case you haven't yet had the opportunity to enjoy it for yourself, FarmBar serves dishes created using ingredients from Oklahoma farms, in an intimate setting, in the heart of SOBO. From their pop-up menus (hello Burger Night), to their a la carte menu, to their multi-course tasting menu dinners, FarmBar has something different and delicious every Tuesday through Saturday night. Our personal favorite is getting a seat at the Chef's Counter where you can watch all the action and interact with the entire restaurant team. (And you might even get some fun stories about the source of the ingredients.) What we tried: Pickle Martini Old Fashioned Country Bird Bakery Sourdough with Sweet Cream Butter Cantaloupe Gazpacho with Basil Flowers and Pecans Roast Tomato with Eggplant Custard, Garlic Crisp, and Breadcrumbs Goat Cheese Ravioli with Fried Rosemary and Sunflower Seed Gremolata Petit Banger with Ballymeloe Relish, Silky Leeks, and Cabbage Black Forest Bombe with Candied Sandplums, Chocolate, and Ice Cream

Yelp
Food was amazing. The atmosphere was great as well. It feels hole in the wall and simteanously upscale

Yelp
Burger night on Tuesday is a must. Absolutely amazing food from only the freshest ingredients made by people who love what they do. Beautiful.

Jamie S.

Yelp
We have friends that rave about the Burger night on Tuesdays at Farmbar, and we finally got to try it. We had 6:45 reservations and had the perfect table right in the front by the coolest dog art. The restaurant is very pretty inside and has great outdoor seating too. It was definitely an upscale burger night experience with so many delicious flavors. The pimento cheeseburger was wonderful. I enjoyed the bulgogi burger, but the pimento cheese one was king. The roasted sweet potato appetizer was delicious. That goat cheese was so good. And the miso sundae dessert was best bite of the night. We will definitely be back! Our friends said they did a blue cheese burger on a different night that we have to try if they do it again. I want to try the 10 course dinner they do too!

Camillia E.

Yelp
My first experience at this establishment was actually years ago at their farm in Depew. Both of the times that I went to those dinners my expectations were exceeded. This restaurant is no different. The ambience the staff and the meals are above and beyond what most Tulsa restaurants can offer.for our large table was brought out on time and those with food challenges had great alternatives. If you want to go to a homegrown restaurant and a fine dining setting with progressive meals this is the place to go downtown.

Kallie G.

Yelp
The food, staff, atmosphere was so incredible! We did the 5 course pre-fix meal and each course was so unique and delicious. We sat at the bar seats so we could watch the chef work and had so much fun chatting with them and learning about the restaurant and each dish. It was fun going in with an open mind to be surprised with the menu! Next time we are in a Tulsa we will for sure be coming back!

Kent S.

Yelp
in general the food was good, service excellent and ambiance just fair. Pescatarians like fish dishes, sans meats such as pork and chicken. The only fish offered was bottom feeding catfish and it was served to everyone in our party, including those opting for the traditional menu. An extreme disappointment to say the least. Based on a former experience i had recommended Farmbar, but based on this most recent dining, i am withdrawing my recommendation.

Jyl C.

Yelp
I've been to Faembar twice and have been blown away both times. Expect elevated service and casually classy ambiance. Once was the prix fixe dinner with wine pairing, and the second time was for the burger and barbera night. Two very different experiences with very different price points, so if you've been wanting ti try Farmbar, but aren't ready to commit financially, definitely check out burger and barbera night. If you're looking for a unique upscale date night culinary experience, I recommend going to Farmbar on the weekend for the coursed dinner with wine pairing. It was worth the $$$.

Yelp
FarmBar - "Burgers and Barbera Tuesday" Mini-Review Overall: 97/100 (Original Score) Introduction: Following an exquisite experience at FarmBar that mirrored Michelin-star quality in service, food, atmosphere, and overall enjoyment, I felt compelled to explore their famed "Burgers and Barbera" event held on Tuesdays. What I encountered surpassed mere burgers and drinks; it was a multi-dimensional feast brimming with excitement, indulgence, and unparalleled service from Mallory, Christa, Zidaya, and the cocktail maestro, Bri. I ventured in with an insatiable appetite, allowing Chefs Caleb, Christian, and JJ to orchestrate a culinary symphony for my senses. Experience: I must preface by acknowledging the excessiveness of my order--an item from each vegetable and burger on the menu, alongside two desserts. This was not a rational choice but an indulgence encompassing gluttony, sloth, lust, and pride, all woven into a singular, enjoyable evening. Drinks: A special accolade is owed to Bri, the cocktail magician, who served a captivating sangria, an unprecedented blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon, apple, and orange. Each sip revealed distinct yet harmonious flavors, a true testament to mixology mastery. Bri's basil watermelon creation proved equally enchanting, rendering me speechless amidst its delightful taste. Food: The culinary voyage commenced with Chef Caleb and Chef JJ's Spicy Cucumber Salad--an artistic fusion of textures, flavors, and heat. The crispness of cucumber juxtaposed the intense spiciness of garlic and chili, ingeniously tempered by the tangy creaminess of skyr, resulting in a fiery yet balanced dish. Continuing the vegetable parade was the Gailan, complemented by a lemon vinaigrette, breadcrumbs, and Grana Padano cheese, delivering crispness, vibrancy, and a nuanced bitter aftertaste. The Better Farm Salad, featuring butter lettuce, onion, tomato, cucumber, and garlic breadcrumbs in a creamy herb buttermilk dressing, exuded simplicity and elegance, with sweet tomatoes accentuating the tangy buttermilk. Moving to the Eggplant and Potato Tajine, a Chef Becklund masterpiece. This hot dish showcased potato and eggplant flavors intertwined with Eastern-inspired herbs, offering subtle sesame undertones, providing a perfect contrast to preceding cold vegetable delights. Chef Caleb's sautéed mushrooms with brown butter, porcini, truffle salt, and Grana Padano were a euphoric experience, a symphony for mushroom aficionados, from the seared crust to the lingering, tantalizing flavors. The three spring potatoes with smoked paprika aioli and chili-garlic crunch presented a harmonious marriage of rustic potatoes and smoked paprika, honoring the potato's essence amidst luscious aioli and a hint of heat. The spotlight then turned to the Meatball Burger by Chef Caleb, initially met with skepticism but ultimately unleashing an explosion of beefy richness balanced by a subtle, exquisite sweetness of marinara, an unparalleled burger experience. For desserts, the pecan frangipane and apple tart with spiced ice cream offered a beautifully balanced treat, while the zucchini cake with pear compote and whipped cream provided a light, ethereal conclusion to an extraordinary meal. Overall: FarmBar's "Burgers and Barbera Tuesday" transcended the typical start-of-the-week blues, offering a sanctuary of bliss and culinary delight. It's an oasis where problems dissipate, and serenity reigns--a burger-driven slice of heaven during the workweek. In short, it's an experience that speaks for itself--Michelin-quality burgers in Tulsa! Price Note: With burgers priced at $10 and $17 respectively, FarmBar's offerings present incredible value. My indulgence in the entire menu (except 2 desserts) should not detract from the sheer reasonableness of these exceptional burger prices. Overall: 97/100; Who knew Michelin-quality burgers could grace Tulsa?!

Yelp
I can not even begin to express how amazing our night was! I have been trying to plan a great experience for my son's birthday for months and decided on Farmbar. Best decision ever! Chef Christian and Chef Caleb went above and beyond. The food was amazing, but the experience and service were out of this world. The time they took to talk with my son, who aspires to be a chef, about being chefs and how they got where they are was so special. I'm not sure I've ever seen him happier, and as a mom, that's an irreplaceable memory. Bree was one of the best servers I've ever had in my life. She was so kind and made the night so great! They even made my whole meal gluten-free and coconut free due to my food issues! But yet still made it so I had almost the exact food experience. Seriously cannot say enough great things. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yelp
We dined in FarmBar on a Thursday evening to try their new 5-course tasting menu that is offered on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. We had made reservations in advance. At arrival, were delightfully greeted at the door and escorted to our table. The server brought water and explained the tasting menu offering since it was our first time to have this experience. We ordered our cocktails and then the first course came along. The pacing of the entire meal was so nice! Each course was unique yet so well-balanced among the other items. We even visited with one of the chefs about the Tuesday night Burger Night (which we hope to get to attend soon!). Additionally, we hope to experience the full 10-course tasting in the near future. Thank you, FarmBar for a lovely evening!

Daniel B.

Yelp
My wife and four friends dined here this evening, we had the five course prix fixe menu. The food quality was average with the chicken fried brisket main course being nearly inedible. They comped us 20% after we complained how over cooked it was, but the reality is the kitchen should have never served it up. Overall, small portions, average to poor quality with medium high prices. With drinks and dinner the price was just under $100 per person. For this price the dining experience should be much better.

Christy B.

Yelp
My husband and I loved Farmbar! The food, ambiance, and service were all excellent. I loved how they used local ingredients. Everything tasted very fresh, unique, and satisfying.

Louise R.

Yelp
Went here with friends on a Thursday night. Did the tasting menu and found it quite lackluster. Not enough sauce on any dish, and, like a lot of tasting menus, not a single dish was hot. If we go again, we'll try the main menu. If we go again. Service was excellent!

Paul C.

Yelp
This was a great dinner. Not cheap but I loved the experience. The room was quiet and since we prepaid I didn't have to worry about the bill or gratuity. It was quiet and I wasn't interrupted when we were talking. This is a great date spot. Think anniversary or celebration dinner. The gnocchi was insanely good! The best thing on the menu that night. 10 courses was $150 out the door. Worth it.

Amy M.

Yelp
Get to FarmBar today! We've done the weekend 10 course tasting (one traditional one vegetarian) but this was our first time to go on a weeknight. Seriously, it was so so good. Ridiculously good. Wine pairings were absolutely perfect. I really can't recommend it highly enough. Every course was a masterclass in flavor. The service was impeccable. This meal was in our top 5 of all time, which includes Michael Mina in LV, a lovely Italian in Sonoma and a couple of celeb chef-owned places in Miami and New York.

Mark S.

Yelp
4th time to eat at this highly rated Tulsa eatery. Service was outstanding, food not so much. Wife had the Halibut. She said it was tasteless. Cut up cubed fish boiled in a bowl. Roast beef special was promised to be tender. It was over cooked, so-so tender and disguised with a "funnel cake" on top of it. We were there at 5:00. Ordered 1 Negroni from drink list menu. Tried to order 1 more but was informed they had ran out???? The 2 appetizers we ordered were sub par. Unhappy to shell out $$$$ for very mediocre food.

Monica R.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant knowing it was Tulsa, OK, not expecting top of the line. I chose the wine pairing which I am glad I did. The experience was a slap in the face. Just because you plate things in small portions does not mean they are good. One of the dishes was a piece of bread with butter. Bread should have been an accompaniment. The duck looked awful and it was. There was a dish with cucumber and cherry tomatoes and yogurt that was very sad. Everything needed salt, or acidity or something. It was not worth the $190 I paid, it wouldn't even have been worth for $30. The 2 stars are for the service! Everyone was very nice and knowledgeable. And the wine, the wine was very good! Thank God for wine!

Cooper W.

Yelp
Farmbar was very chill. We went to burger night. The restaurant has a special menu on Tuesdays. For $10, it was a steal. Great burger. We had great service. Good overall experience!

Sarah D.

Yelp
I've been wanting to eat here for more than a year and I finally got to the other night. It was well worth the wait! Everything from the food, to the staff, to the ambiance was amazing! Lisa and her staff are incredibly good people and I cannot wait to go back!

Anthony S.

Yelp
Beautiful meal in a beautiful space. We went last night to celebrate a birthday and our family of four had the tasting the menu at the bar. Our underage children had some mocktails while we opted for the wine pairings. The food and wine was excellent. We enjoyed the ~12 courses from start to finish. Standouts included the Hamachi Crudo, Egg Yolk w/ puffed grain, and the whole wheat pasta. The vibe was professional, but not pretentious. Chefs, owners, wait staff were all friendly and engaged. More than happy to accommodate our requests and questions as we watched the meal coming together. Next stop for us to attend one of their meals at the farm!

Daniel S.

Yelp
They have amazing food here and a lovely, classy atmosphere. I ate at the bar where they are also doing all the food prep and cooking out in the open. The "Cod" special was incredible as was the French press coffee and peach ice cream with a blackberry purée. The waitress, Ashlyn is also top notch. Very personable and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. Nice walk back to double tree hotel. About a mile and a 1/4.

Gibb W.

Yelp
The absolute BEST food you will every bite, chew, taste, swallow and digest with complete satiation. It's an experience. An incredible experience. The staff is 100% wonderful and they throughly explain every course. The bread that Cat bakes changed my life and I think you will feel the same. Glendy brings her own magical je ne sais quoi. This is my favorite restaurant. And I'm kinda picky. So. If you are reading this and you don't try it, I'll simply be offended. Now go. Make that ressy.

Madison D.

Yelp
Great for the price! Nothing too crazy but nice for a quick meal. I loved dining here as the ambiance was very romantic for my boyfriend and I. The service/server could have been way better as we were left with empty drinks for awhile.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
I came here tonight with my partner for an early dinner because we had later obligations. The restaurant had just opened but we had made reservations on their website days earlier which proved to be a seamless process. Making a reservation online included price for both meals and tip before you ever walk into the restaurant. Before you wonder why one would do this - let me explain. This restaurant is based on a farm-to-table concept in which the chef and owner picks only the finest ingredients for their weeks menu from local sources. We happened to come in tonight on the drop of their new menu for the week and could not have been happier. Dinner includes 10 courses (that's right, TEN) and can be adjusted according to dietary preference if given 24 hour notice. The 10 course tasting menu is 85 dollars per person. There is a wine pairing and nonalcoholic pairing that are available for extra upon booking. Tip is collected at time of booking for 20% which is fine by us; we would have anyway if not more. We arrived and were seated at the chefs counter which we specified upon booking. The restaurant is beautiful. There is a barrier between the counter and kitchen. All employees/chefs are wearing masks. They take your temperature upon arrival. I felt extremely safe, particularly with spacing between parties seated. I could go into detail about each dish, but honestly I can't say enough good things and it would take me all night. Some were bite size and some were enough to be a meal. They provided coffee on the house from double shot in single serving French press. So cute. We were SO FULL walking out of there and SO PLEASED. I did not leave anything on my 10 plates. Highlights - corn and chèvre soufflé, millet sourdough, seared tenderloin in radicchio, tomato fettuccini, charred cucumber and grape, roasted pork shoulder, zucchini cake. Oh I'm sorry, was that almost all of the dishes? Again, these menus are based on what is fresh and available, I hate to tease! All I can say is: GO. I've never had a tasting menu where I've finished every last thing and wanted more. The unknown can be scary, but not here. I've been to Michelin Star restaurants, they have nothing on FarmBar!

Denise K.

Yelp
Food. Service. Ambiance. Amazing. I overlooked some of the past reviews and went. It was an incredible dinner. I went a la cart. Had innovative bread. A beautiful salad. Rib-eye. Those potatoes were WOW! And pecan tart with this incredible orange and cardamom ice cream really propelled me to write this review! Thank you for my dinner tonight; it was beautiful.

Sherena J.

Yelp
We were looking forward to dining here after reading all of the good reviews but in reality, it was disappointing. The food is okay but not knock your socks off good. The Sweet Potato Bisque was okay, no depth of flavor and it was lukewarm. The Kale Cesar Salad was good but nothing we haven't eaten before and then we chose a pasta. Our waitress recommended the pastas as being a highlight of their offerings. I debated between the Lasagne, the Whole Wheat Fettuccine or the Gnocchi w/lamb bolognes, she recommended the lasagne. Maggiano's has better lasagne than this place. I'm happy we went on a la carte menu night and not the pre-fixe dinner night because this was underwhelming to say the least. The staff were friendly and pleasant but the food just isn't that good. We won't be back, I'd rather eat at Juniper or Amelia's than this place. The ambiance is nice I loved the sketch of the dog on the wall but that's not good enough for us to return. Edit** after speaking with the owner/chef and hearing her concept for this restaurant, I've decided to give this place another try the next time we're in Tulsa. We will reserve the tasting menu and I will update my review to reflect the full experience of Farmbar.

Jamie T.

Yelp
We love this place! Great atmosphere. Wonderful, welcoming staff. Excellent food and service. Fully recommend and will be back again and again. Wish I would have taken pictures but I was too excited to try the food! Great experience

Charles W.

Yelp
Wow. Tulsa needed this place. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all top notch. We had the beets for an app. Honestly could be improved by using a variety of beets. We also had the local shishito pepper app - terrific. Roast as an entree was exceptional as well.

Smith F.

Yelp
Temperature checks and questions at the door. Take notes local restaurant owners. Farmbar is making people feel safe and social distancing. I was nervous about going out to eat but made an exception after calling to verify social distancing measures were in place. This team is doing what every establishment should be doing. Also, the food and wine were perfect...Oh and the cookies were just what I needed.. Your staff is hands down some of the nicest/best in the industry as well. Thank you for making us feel safe as we enjoyed a rare occasion out.

Jim H.

Yelp
I still have a Farmbar glow almost a week after my visit, like I had the best first date ever. The staff made my solo meal feel more like I'd popped by for dinner with friends. I feel like sending them flowers. The food could hang in the West Village or Silverlake, but why would it? Tulsa's vibin! Can't wait to come back for more.

Tony W.

Yelp
So, so good...yes I said it twice. Perfect evening enjoying great food and great company. The food quality and preparation/presentation was exceptional. The staff/servers? Super attentive and super knowledgeable. The meal was not at all rushed and the dishes were timed perfectly between each presentation. We really enjoyed our evening and will for sure be back. Great job to all at Farmbar!

Vickie S.

Yelp
Pretty good but ridiculously expensive for the food served. Dinner for 2 with an average bottle of wine was over $400. We can say we tried it.

Brandi B.

Yelp
If this were a food review, the title would be You Must Learn to Walk Before you Run a Marathon It completely breaks my heart to write this review. I had read all about the chef and her work and her farm before coming, we were so excited to eat at FarmBar when visiting Tulsa. To begin with it's a very hip, beautiful vibe when you walk in...with an open kitchen. However, the giveaway might have been that there were a lot of empty tables, and only two staff running the kitchen, one of whom was the chef. They told us the tasting menu was available even though our reservation said it wasn't. We're super foodies/cooks from SF, so very happy to let the chef cook for us. We also asked about our daughter who is vegetarian and they reassured us that they offer a tasting menu for vegetarians too. The two lovely parts of the ENTIRE meal were the amuse bouche (fantastic) and a spinach and potato soup (excellent). Also, one dessert was a good effort with a pavlova over a creme pat... but literally everything else they served I would be ashamed to have served to friends at a casual weeknight dinner at my house. And the vegetarian dishes were simply ridiculous...none of them were thought out and there was no protein outside of three or four very tiny, dry, granular beans served in a "hash" (which we were also served in our menu). It was completely an afterthought. My daughter commented that what should have been a marinara sauce tasted like tomatoes from a can... I didn't believe her but tasted them and was so sad for the chef. Our first course was a line of three separate bites. First, the pieces made no sense together...meaning it wasn't a plate, it was disparate pieces. Each piece was awful. One piece was entirely cold, one was lukewarm and one had been recently warmed...nothing had been just cooked. And all of them were tasteless. Early in the meal I asked for some kosher salt because nothing was seasoned properly. They brought out a course kosher salt...after so much discussion in the open kitchen. EVERY chef's kitchen I've even been in has fine kosher salt. They might use a course kosher for soups or things cooked more thoroughly, but fine kosher is used for salting things where the salt must dissolve quickly. It was already an embarrassment that they didn't season things in the kitchen, but then a coarse salt for table salt?? In my life I've never asked for salt anywhere that offers a tasting menu. They made a ravioli and though the filling was fine, the ravioli was undercooked and thick and super tough...homemade pasta that is thin and delicate is so easy...this should have been an underhand pitch... We had a course with monkfish, which I normally love. The fish had been cooked and either hadn't been patted dry or allowed to drain or properly defrost because the inside was spongy and watery??? How can this happen at a restaurant that offers a tasting menu? We were served a piece of filet, that was half fat (and I love fat because it's where the flavor lies) but it was chewy because it was served with the muscle sheath still attached?? A properly butchered piece of filet and a $75 sous vide stick and you can serve the most delicate filet pieces you've ever tasted...so easy. One course had a thick sauce that had pieces of smoked bacon...but when they smoked the bacon on some of the pieces they didn't cut off the pig skin? It's thick, rubbery and in that state inedible?? How did this happen in this kitchen? These are just some of the obvious pieces. At some point I think the waiter thought I was a food critic and at the end sent over the chef who asked how our meal was...we just sat in silence, not knowing how to tell her how bad the food was...to someone who was pouring her heart into this food? I explained gently that I was sorry to tell her, and mentioned the highlights to soften the blow, but there's no easy way to explain and I just stopped, it was heart breaking. With tip (only ordering 2 cocktails and a soft drink, with tip it was $500...even though my daughter's meal consisted of less than $5 worth of ingredients. THEY CHARGED exactly the same for the vegetarian tasting menu that consisted of nothing upon nothing. This is in a city, where gas is under $3/gallon and everyday food is a fraction of the cost in San Francisco. This was one of our all time worst meals ever. Before you can offer a tasting menu, you have to get the easy things right...totally perfect. If the chef had tasted all those things she sent out that night, she would have NEVER sent them out. I was so disappointed that we spent that much money on a horrible meal and wasted that whole evening. We cooked at home for the rest of our trip. We couldn't imagine a lower bar.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our total dining experience at Farmbar last Saturday. It exceeded all of our expectations. We have experienced some great food in Philadelphia, NYC and Washington DC at some of the top restaurants, but rarely have been enjoyed the food and atmosphere as much as last Saturday. The 10-course menu was creative and sitting at the Chefs table allowed us to interact with your staff. It was obvious that your team enjoys their work, love the creative and sustainable approach to food and feel a part of the process. Our meal was memorable, portions perfectly sized and flavors amazing and surprising. Don't expect large portions, heavy use of butter, salt and sauces to mask the flavors of fresh, high quality food. Do expect serving sizes that showcase flavor and careful preparation.

Yelp
Just as lovely as it could be! The service, the wine, the food! Do yourself a favor and book a table and experience it for yourself!

Yelp
I WISH I COULD RATE IT LOWER I went to this restaurant a couple months ago with one of my friends and ordered a couple apps and a couple entrees as that what the restaurant tells you to do. We had higher expectations, all the pictures I saw looked good, and the dishes seemed creative, both of these things ended up being incorrect. The apps were okay not bad but glorified baked potatoes I wouldn't order them again. And then the entrees were just lacking basic fundamentals of cooking, little or no seasoning, burnt pieces of meat. I don't consider myself a food expert in any way, but I eat out a lot and I'm always eating different foods at different restaurants, I've been to almost every restaurant in tulsa and okc and love trying new foods, and farmbar at first glance it just a mediocre restaurant hiding behind their fancy "techniques" and "plating". But I've eaten at other restaurants before I didn't like the first time and I've came around on, so I decided to go recently with my s/o to their burger night. My burger was fine normal burger not bad, not good, not as good as the burger me and my partner make at home. But very shortly after only a bite or two it was clear that my partners burger was completely undercooked, raw in the middle. And I'm not talking rare ( I order everything medium rare) this burger was completely raw in the middle so raw it was almost cold to the touch. I felt really bad as my partner got all dressed up and was excited for this date night and I ate most of my burger so quickly that she didn't get that much food just the rest of my burger I gave her which honestly was a little too pink in the middle as well, as the texture got a little chewy towards the middle but we just ate the outside of it. I was so disappointed we just decided to pay quickly and leave, leaving the raw burger on the plate as we leave. And go get fast food on the way home. I'm not the type of person to write bad reviews in fact this is only my second review ever I've wrote, but I'm I big fan of restaurants and the restaurant community and this place is fooling people with its aesthetic, they want to be tasting menu, expensive ingredients, but can't even cook a burger or serve an entree. Their menu might look impressive reading it but it is a disguise. I will not go back.

Yelp
i really want to rate this place as horrible and terrible JUST so it doesn't fill up--and i can still make a reservation! i can't lie though, just to make sure that i have a spot at the chef's counter. with absolutely no hesitation, i can say that you must go to Farmbar. don't put it off, go immediately. the food is fresh, creative, perfectly cooked, elegantly seasoned and exquisitely presented. the artistry that goes into each and every detail of the tasting menu is a real treat to any regular person off the street--but is a massive turn on for real foodies. when you ask what my favorite course was, i can't really decide. each and every one was so different and took me on a revitalization of my tastebuds. flavors, textures, colors, temperatures--they were all varied and somehow were sewn together with the finest of threads, to make an amazing tapestry of culinary euphoria. the staff is amazingly warm and helpful, and will do their greatest to make your visit one to remember. trust me. go.

Yelp
We were so excited to try Farmbar after reading the rave reviews. In our experience, the food was a 4/10. The atmosphere was a 3/10 due to broken air condition (it was sweltering and miserable to eat warm food). The service was a 7/10 - polite but not super friendly.) There is only a prix fixe menu, which is fun, but what I didn't realize was that there are a handful of core ingredients featured throughout the evening. So if you dislike one ingredient on the list, you are likely to dislike most of the 10 course meal. I dislike goat cheese in almost all forms. I'd been dreaming of my visit, which was a birthday splurge (the meal is $95 per person, plus tax and tip). We opted not to purchase the wine pairings for an additional $50/person, but we should have because the wine would have made the food more palatable. My heart instantly sank when I saw the menu. I'd been pouring over social media pics of old menus and food. I had seen no ingredients I dislike. The menu I was presented with contained my least favorite food (goat cheese/goat's milk) in multiple dishes and revolved around some of my least favorite vegetables (beets and tomatoes). It also featured my least favorite meat, pork, as the main dish. I tried to remain open-minded as I've enjoyed all of those ingredients when well-paired, but first bites often generated an involuntary gag. It wasn't just the ingredients; it was the way they were put together. I kept wondering why they had ruined a perfectly good plate of food by adding seasonings or ingredients that just didn't work together. Instead of the cacophonous tastes "dancing on my tongue," it felt like they were doing a battle match with my taste buds as the casualty. The blackberry-basil sorbet (as a palette cleanser) would have been excellent on its own, but topped with a generous helping of brown salt ruined it. The same sorbet was featured later in a cookie shell with pecans, fresh basil, and three sauces that ranged from quite good to shockingly polarizing (smoked blueberry). I would have liked all these things on their own, but they didn't work together. It was reminiscent of the milkshake experiments we used to make as kids where we combined ingredients we like on their own to make something disgusting. The pork chop, which was the main dish, had good flavor on its own, but the beet sauce was off-putting. It was also unevenly cooked; half was white inside, and half was bright pink. My husband's was white or light pink all the way through. I did truly enjoy one dish, a roasted cauliflower that was quite yummy. Because you are served 10 courses, most come in teeny tiny ramekins, so I only got a few bites of it, but it helped a bit to have one dish I actually liked. Most dishes were edible, but not enjoyable. Some I couldn't eat and handed off to my husband, who will eat anything (although even he was discussing how he didn't like the tastes). The best way I can describe the meal is that the flavors were so strong - and polarizing - that nothing was subtle. It felt like going to a play and having the actors scream in your face for 2 hours. I am guessing we might have enjoyed the food more with the wine pairings - or on a week when the menu has core ingredients we like more.

Yelp
One of the worst dining experiences of our lives. For a special event, we made a reservation one month in advance and selected the 10-course prix fixe menu. Despite the reservation, upon arriving on time we waited 1.5 hours to get seated. Once seated (after the 1.5 hours), it took another 20 minutes to get service. We were told there would be 10 courses, but there were 9 (and one of the 9 was a scoop of ice as a palate cleanser). We were willing to wait for nearly 2 hours because we were so excited for the food. Unfortunately, the food was bland and uninspiring. By no means worth the price. Moreover, the service was slow and unprofessional. Plus, the patio had just one heater for six tables during the winter. Brrr! We recommend avoiding this restaurant due to the well below average food and unprofessional and disorganized service. In summary, it is NOT a five star (or any star) fine dining restaurant or experience and definitely not worth any price.

Yelp
Simply the best restaurant in Tulsa. It's not even close, and there are lots of very good options in the downtown area.

Yelp
Everything about this meal was exceptional!! The food and wine pairings were exquisite. TULSA is beyond lucky to have this type of restaurant!! Don't overlook this place. I Just can't say enough. Thanks for a wonderful and delicious dining experience.

Yelp
This is hands down the best food I have ever eaten in my life, and I have eaten all across the country at numerous James Beard award winning spots. Still blown away the day after eating here. Thank you to the staff, and compliments to the Chef.

Yelp
Overall a good experience. Staff were awesome and we were there nearly 3 hours. My main complaint is that both my wife and I left hungry because the portions are very small. The cost for two after tax and tip was over $200. Stinks to leave hungry after spending so much.
