"Mijin Lee’s restaurant in the Edgewater neighborhood offers a solid, affordable menu of her family recipes. Focus on the bulgogi, the several fried rice entrees, and (spicy or not) sweet potato, wheat, or egg noodle bowls. For vegetarian or vegan options, fill up with hearty dishes like vegetable japchae, and vegan jajang myeon (noodles in black bean sauce) made with black bean paste. Pair the dishes with kimchi that Lee learned how to make by hand in her South Korean home’s backyard. "Fuchai is a small Edgewater spot that has a menu split pretty evenly between Chinese and Korean food. We prefer the Korean dishes - which include bulgogi and japchae - over the Chinese ones. But neither side of the menu is really too impressive, and this place is more of a third-string back-up plan - or a viable option if you're stuck in Edgewater and absolutely need kimchi." - Ryan Pfeffer
