Phenomenal Chicago-style deep dish, and my personal favorite among all the different franchises. I can’t speak to all the locations, but this spot was extremely busy. The wait for a table was close to 45 min for lunch on a weekend, but having the ability order ahead made it surprisingly quick once we were seated. The pizza came out extremely hot. Service was incredibly friendly and they even assisted with cutting and plating. One small 10” pizza is more than enough for two people.

It's is one of the things you need to try visiting Chicago, deep dish pizza. I think I was expecting something more. Personal size pizza took 40 min, they tell you that up front. Pizza was watery, maybe the mushrooms and had what I thought was less filing than you would find on a traditional crust pizza. The Italian salad was excellent. Finely chopped lettuce, lots of meat and the lemon dressing added a great flavor.

Ordered a Chicago style pizza, first time ever for me being from Australia. I was recommended this place by a few locals. It’s a chain but it’s very well known for its quality. Pizza was made as fresh as they come, ingredients were all 10/10, everything was perfect. It’s a very different style pizza as opposed to NYC or Italian style, hard to judge for someone who hasn’t had one before although the crust, dough, sauce etc was all very high quality. I enjoyed it. Took a little while for my takeaway order, not because they have a slow service but because this place is EXTREMELY busy. Order ahead, at least an hour and if you wish to dine in you have to book well in advance.

As a tourist from Canada, I had my first ever deep dish pizza previously, at a different restaurant and it was quite disappointing. However, going Giordano’s and having their deep dish pizza was a completely different experience. The pizza was simply fantastic. And the staff were very friendly and extremely organized... Great job, great pizza! Will recommend to anyone. 👌👌

We only had to wait 20 minutes before getting in. Super fast. We preordered at the desk, and when we were seated ordered an appetizer. The appetizer came out really fast with little wait. Everything was delicious and highly recommend.

Good deep dish pizza- not the BEST I’ve ever had but very good. Good cheese is used for sure and fresh ingredients- in the pizza. The wings were burnt and over cooked- Calamari, cheese pillows, chicken bites- meh- tasted like it was made from frozen and NOT fresh. Bruchetta- flavorless Cesar salad very plain…good dressing Chopped salad VERY GOOD- would order it again. Great for big appetites. I suggest make your own combo while here.

I went there by myself. I was wondering if I could try a deep dish pizza by myself. I’m so glad they have personal size (6”) deep dish pizza. The waiter kindly reminded me the pizza takes 45 minutes to make it. It was great to know. It came about 10 minutes earlier. It was worthy waiting for, so delicious! I also ordered a Caesar salad for the starter. My experience on food was awesome, but the service was okay. He almost forgot my salad and didn’t have much service.

I ordered delivery to a local hotel so I was a little skeptical, but WOW. Let me tell you. It was bagged perfectly, food was Hot! And everything was there, nothing missing. I’ve never had Chicago style pizza before so nothing to compare but I’m pretty sure this might be one of the best. The mozzarella triangles- delicious! The tiramisu.. so so yummy. Would HIGHLY recommend!

As an Italian not being used to deep dish pizza, I have to admit that I enjoyed it! Me and my other two Italian friends had a really nice time here during our visit! And the staff was super nice!

Easily ranks among the worst gluten-free pizzas I've ever had. The crust was flat, hard, and seemingly laminated by the way the sauce and cheese slid right off of it. It would audibly snap when I bit into it and held absolutely no flavor from the rest of the pizza (not that there was much of it to begin with--the sauce was thin and the cheese was bland and oily). The service was bad. I had to dodge red-shirted employees on my way to the bathroom as they moved around corners blindly. Our waiter hardly paid attention to us beyond taking our order. Even the hostess waved for us to follow to an empty table in the middle of an empty section. To add insult to injury, they had the nerve to charge us $32 for this abomination. Save yourself the headache and buy a crust from the frozen aisle at Trader Joe's.

Pizza 10 out of 10. Ambiance good . Went during lunch not really busy but steady. Only reason for 4 stars is the length of time it takes for your pizza to be served, also we had an extremely slow waitress. Her customer service was good but she was very slow. Definitely would recommend and will return again while I'm in the city.

Pizza was great. Service was cool. Ambiance was fine. We literally ate off a small Chicago style pizza (Chicagoan) for three days. It's only six slices. Salad was cool. Dressing was really good. The real showstopper was the pan size oven baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. The prices in the menu were NOT the prices that we were charged. Prices were not cheap. No liquor sold here. No beer and our bill was $90! Chitown is NOT poor.

I was craving another deep dish pizza in Chicago. Another popular place was Giordano's, with locations all over Chicago. The wait is killer. It took 1:15 hour for takeout from time of order, still busy on a Monday night at 9:30pm. I got the Chicago Classic. Pepperoni, cheese, onions, green peppers with tomato sauce on top. It did feel like a ton of cheese, I could taste the pepperoni and sauce on top. More toppings than Lou's. But crust is more basic, just a bigger crust of a normal pizza.

I went fairly early with a friend. So being seated was quick and easy. I will say there were at least 4 people that greeted us or walked us to our table (yes, 4). Someone then brought water and the 6th person was our actual waitress. The place is large. It's a pretty standard pizza spot. It was filled pretty quickly after we arrived. We ordered the deep dish. The amount of cheese in just a regular 10in pepperoni was pretty insane. Once was enough for me. Bread was basic and hard. Sangria was good I enjoyed it. Should have gotten a pitcher.

I was really excited to try a deep dish pizza from Giordano's, but my experience was disappointing. After waiting over an hour and a half to get back to my hotel, I found that my order was wrong. I was starving, especially since I was in town for a conference. The manager did offer to remake my food, which I appreciated, but it's frustrating when orders aren't correct from the start. Getting it right the first time is crucial for customer satisfaction. I hope they can improve this, as I'd love to give them another shot!

We came here with a large group and ordered a number of pizzas! Everything was so good. I think the establishment tried their best to accommodate the size of our group! I can't wait to come back

I'm a novice when it comes to deep dish pizza, but I had a pleasant experience here. Was it life changing, not necessarily. But did I have a kind server, got seated quickly, food was hot and tasty YES. I ordered the frozen mango marg, Caesar salad, fries, and a personal deep dish pizza. Loved the marg it was refreshing and sweet just what I needed. The salad and fries were standard and I thought the pizza was good. Crispy crust and upside down toppings with plenty of cheese which I personally like. This particular location is across from the sky deck so it makes for an easy outing. The place is casual and laid back so great for lunch or a quickish bite. The pizza does take 45 minutes for its deep dish. 9/10!

This is what a deep dish pizza should be: a perfect cheese pull with every slice. I went for the Chicago Classic, loaded with pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions. My review is biased because I recently had to become gluten and dairy free... so I couldn't eat much on the menu. However, they do offer gluten free versions of any of their pastas, though it'll have to be penne shaped. I got the bolognese pasta gluten free. The gluten free pasta was honestly falling apart (which is sometimes expected for gluten free)... but still a bit disappointing! The bolognese sauce was yummy, but lacked some depth. My friend got the Chicago classic deep dish pizza and said that the crust was very soft and flaky! The dish itself was flavorful too. Please note that the wait can get incredibly long! We went on a Saturday night and waited 1 hour for the deep dish pizza!

Holy moly y'all. This place made a pizza that touched my soul. Yes, the wait was long. Yes, the lobby was crowded. Yes, the service wasn't super fast because they were packed. But none of that matters after you take the first bite of their deep dish. Don't let the wait or the crowd scare you. Enjoy the experience for what it is! Not a great place for a first date unless you don't really want to talk to them because it is a bit loud. But I promise you, you'll fall in love with the pizza at least

Been to this one before. Didn't like it as much this time. Haven't a GREAT review a few years back. This time, they screwed up our table when we got there. I had to ask them if they forgot about us. They said they paged us...they didn't. They didn't call my name either. I was sitting right there at the door. The waitress was overly rushed. Iconic restaurant with Chicago deep dish pizza! Busy tourist place, with possible long wait to get seated and even longer wait to get deep dish pizza which takes about 45 minutes. Nicely stocked bar with good beers, and lots of TVs. Restaurant has modern feel of a sports bar... Service is good, and pizza delicious. However it is on pricier side as small personal deep dish pizza will run you about $20+!

We went during the weekend and it was super packed. The calamari fritters were good, the deep dish pizza was very cheesy. I felt the pizza was too big, there should be smaller sizes for 2 people. Service was okay as they were trying to cater to the crowd. There is not much to say about the ambience.

I feel like I'm missing something. I do not want to be super judgmental because I realize most of these employees are teenagers but dang does the customer service lack here. My husband and I have had deep dish in California so we were dying to try Giordano's because all the reviews made it sound like it was one of the best. We arrived and the place was packed outside! There was people everywhere and we took this as a good sign. There is a lunchboard sign outside that displays the menu. My husband and I walked in and it was madness. There are literally no signs as to what to do/where to go. I wish the outside lunch board told you but you basically have to figure it out. There is a line for ordering and a line for seating, so confusing! We didn't know which to go to first. By chance my husband went to the correct line under a sign that said check-in. He checked-in and then was told to go order the pizza. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait. They told us the pizza should be ready by the time we were seated. I do not mind waiting, especially if the food is fire. It was my husband and I's first time in Chicago so we just walked around for a bit. We got a text that our table was ready so we went back inside. My husband got in the check-in line which was huge; after 10 minutes he tells me the employee told him to go upstairs. We get upstairs and there's another line. A family is being helped/speaking to someone who is part of management. The hostess goes to the party behind us and asks them if they received a text that their table was ready to which they respond yes. I then say to her that we also received a text that our table was ready and she side-eyed us then ignored us. She then sat the group behind us. This is one of the things that really grinds my gears because she didn't even acknowledge us. We end up waiting longer and a different hostess takes us to a table near the outside patio but still on the inside. The food was not that great. We got an appetizer- the Giordano's sampler. It was okay, I would say I only enjoyed the mozzarella triangles. The marinara sauce that came with it was cold but paired well with it. Everything else was okay. I also got a Cesar salad which in my opinion had too much dressing and ruined the taste a bit. Pizza - we got a small deep dish: half jalapeño and pepperoni, the other half was chicken and jalapeño. When the pizza arrived at our table, it looked good. The pizza however was nowhere near hot. I am a huge sauce girl, the pizza sauce is in my opinion, the best part of the pizza. This pizza lacked sauce in my opinion. The chicken tasted like it came from a can, not sure if it did but definitely tasted like it. The crust on the pizza had the consistency of a pie crust which I thought was interesting. The crust also tasted like a pie crust. I thought it took away from the pizza. Overall, the pizza was a huge let down. We notice some guy going through pictures that he took of parties through the glass window. We also saw the same guy taking different pictures of groups of people at all the tables throughout our meal. After our meal, we saw him take pictures of a couple directly in front of us. We never got our picture taken.

Giordano's, a staple in Chicago! I was excited to dine here with my coworker during our work trip. I'd say, definitely pack your patience because it gets busy! Even though we checked in without reservations, we were able to get seated in under 40 minutes on a Tuesday night. If you're aiming for a deep dish pie, it's recommended to pre-order before you're seated, which we didn't do but wish we had. Just a heads up! I also tried their buffalo wings, which were a hit, along with the bolognese lasagna. The bolognese was tasty, and the pizza was plentiful. After just one slice, I was full. Our server was trying her best to accommodate the busy load she had. This is a very fast-paced environment, with options for indoor or outdoor dining. Also, I can't go to a restaurant without checking the cleanliness of the restroom, and this one was definitely clean. Overall, the experience was not bad. I just wish the AC blew more on the enclosed patio, as the discomfort of eating a hot plate made me feel even hotter.

I really liked Lou Malnati's last time I visited, but I thought this deep dish was just okay! Very big room, nice servers, and don't need to wait to be seated! FOOD: Chicago Classic Deep Dish (6/10) - Really wish there was more sauce! It felt like it was almost all cheese :(

Giordano's came up as one of the most highly rated deep dish pizza places during our search, and we were excited to dine there! The wait was pretty long as we came around a very busy time, but their ordering system made the process a lot simpler. We placed our deep dish pizza orders first (they take about 45 minutes to bake), then got seated and placed the rest of our order. Despite the packed restaurant, the customer service at Giordano's was excellent. Our waiter, Chris, was very attentive and made the dining experience fun and enjoyable with his energy! We ordered the Chicago classic deep dish pizza and a starter of the caesar salad. The caesar salad was great. We added chicken to the salad and appreciated that there was a good amount of chicken on the salad. The pizza was delicious, and we were shocked by the height of the cheese pull. We took two slices with us as leftovers, and the pizza still tasted phenomenal when we had it a day later. Overall, the service and food was fantastic! I highly recommend Giordano's for anyone wanting a taste of authentic Chicago deep dish pizza.

Not worth the wait. The pizza wasn't even piping hot when we got it and the mushrooms didn't even taste fully cooked. Average calamari. Also, we weren't even seated in the main dining space either which I thought was weird since I made a reservation. The booth is so cramped too. The service here is so slow I guess they don't do it like the west coast does. Takes a while just to refill waters or even take away our plates when we finished our appetizer etc.

Giordano's Chicago deep dish pizza has proved to me it is most delicious fresh and warm, especially eaten with loved ones on the shore of Lake Michigan, AND also delicious eaten cold for brunch the next day! Efficient phone service for takeout orders, inclusion of utensils, plates, and advice for curbside pick-up were very helpful for a restaurant in high demand!

Our waiter was so communicative and friendly. He answered any questions we had, and gave us his personal favorites to try. I highly recommend getting appitizers because the pizza will take a bit to come out fresh.

I recently tried the deep dish pizza and it was absolutely incredible! The pizza was a cheesy masterpiece, with layer upon layer of gooey, melted cheese that perfectly complemented the rich tomato sauce. The crust was buttery and crisp, holding all that deliciousness together. What really amazed me was how the pizza tasted even better the next day. This review is based upon a modified version of the classic Chicago deep dish pizza. The person I was with doesn't eat pork, so I swapped sausage and pepperoni for meatballs. Therefore, it would be unfair to compare with Malnati's or Pequod's. The quality of the ingredients is superb-although I was not impressed with the meatballs. Not poor quality, just not up to my standards (coming from an Italian family who takes pride in our meatballs). The fried calamari was fantastic! One of the best I've ever had. The waiter was top notch. Couldn't be happier with the service! If not for a table of cackling teenagers right next to us, the ambiance is very nice. A bit rustic in decor and pretty cool photos and kitsch all around. Extra shout out to our waiter. He was stupendous!! P.S. Avoid going for Chicago Deep Dish Pizza with someone who doesn't eat pork. It's simply not the same. Not fair to the pizza!!

It checked off all the boxes of what I wanted for a Chicago deep dish. I ate two slices and the rest went to waste because I was the only one in my party that would eat it. Also I am okay with the occasional olive, but this was overload and I wasn't a fan of the olives. Service was ok, pizza took forever to make and we were starving. I would probably go again, but not before visiting another spot for deep dish.

Loved loved my pizza!!! We had the Chicago classic deep dish pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, onion & green peppers. As soon as you sit down the waitress lets you know that it will take 45 minutes to make the deep dish so be prepared to order right away. It wasn't a bad wait and was well worth it!! Cheesy and fresh ingredients, crust was nice and flakey! Definitely checked this one off the bucket list! Place had a nice vibe as well, just across from the park.

I had really high hopes for this pizza, but it just didn't meet my expectations. The pizza crust was falling apart, and I feel like it should've had more pepperoni. For $16, you would expect to receive more than a kid size pizza.

Chicago is known for their deep dish pizza which is why I made an effort to check out one of the many popular chains. With so many reviews it proved advantageous to book a reservation for two. After checking in, we were seated within 10 minutes. The place was packed with plenty of other hungry customers and you could tell the staff was super quick. We started with the buffalo wings and shared a small size of the Special which included 6 slices of sausage, mushrooms, green bell peppers, and onions. Sadly, the buffalo wings were tiny, seemed somewhat soggy from all the sauce, and clearly overpriced at $18+tax. I'd definitely pass on this next time. The Special honestly just seemed...average. Don't get me wrong, the cheese pull was awesome to see and the ingredients were tasty but the crust certainly left more to be desired as we ended up not eating it. I'll have to check out Lou Malnati's and compare to their signature butter crust.

Yummy... I was so looking forward to coming here on this trip since I never had the chance to on previous visits. We got there kind of late (9:30-10pm-ish?) but didn't have to wait long to get seated. Also nice to be able to order pizza ahead of time! My colleague and I shared the chicken parmigiana pasta and we each got our own pizzas and cocktails. It was such a good meal after walking around being touristy all day.

It's been a long time since I've visited Chicago. It's still on my list as I'm sure it's changed in the 28 years since I last went. With the world changes in the past four years, the access to foods from places nationwide changed too. During the peak times of the change, my friend and I depended on food consolidators to give our home menu some variety. In this case, she ordered this from a local outfit called Locale, of course, in the Bay Area. With a good number of deep dish pizza places in the Bay Area and having tried a couple of ones based in Chicago, one that has nationwide locations and the local favorite that has the same 1st name as baseball great Mr. Gehrig, trying this was not on my radar. My friend was curious especially since there was a non-meat option. Since it'd been a while and I don't recall how it looked when it arrived, I was a bit concerned with the lighter hue of the tomato sauce. My friend generously shared it with me so I reheated it a few days later for breakfast, The flavors were fine and I liked that it was the basil on top to give some contrast to the spinach and cheese. The crust was more cracker-like even being thick crusted, unlike the national one which is chewier and buttery. I know which one is likely healthier. My friend tried one slice and gave me her other two slices as there was too much cheese for her liking. In reading the packaging, the frozen pies are apparently made in Los Angeles and shipped nationwide so I cannot comment on this particular location. If I were to order, I would likely order a meat or mushroom one next time. But, like I said, with the numerous options here, I'm not sure when that will be.

this is probably one of the hardest reviews i had to write. Visited chicago and can't leave the city without trying the infamous Giordano's Deep Dish Pizza. Husband and i got to the place and outside/waiting area was full on chaos, & HOT. So much people just standing and waiting to be seated/for their orders. It was hard for us to even go inside the restaurant to order. So we decided to check online if they do online orders so that way, we can just pick it up. We were able to order via online and skip the chaos. We were given a pick up time which was about and hour & a half after placing the order. We walked around the Cloud Gate & millennium park and took pictures, visited others shops and stuff to kill time. Finally it was time to pick up our order, we got there maybe 5 min after given time, still chaotic inside. We went to the pick-up side of the counter and we were told our order was not ready.. so we were waited inside for another 30min. It was hot and it was too crowded. It almost felt like being in a club filled with sweaty drunk people! Finally our order came out. Now for the pizza: We ordered the Chicago Classic Pizza. It was nice, hot, fresh, & thiccccc. She was filled. The dough had a texture/taste of a pie. Crust was also on the thicker side.. like a pie. I really didn't know what i was expecting tbh. A slice was heavy enough to be a paper weight. And it was also heavy enough to make you feel full. We ordered the classic. Cheese was super thick, and had some nice cheese pull. i got super full after 3 bites. Was it worth it? In my honest opinion, it all depends on your preferences. But i'd prefer thin kinda crispy crust pizza, easier to eat, less mess, and i could actually enjoy it and able to taste the flavors more. Finally, the long awaited food of chicago- deep dish pizza! I heard giordanis and lou's is the classic, but i tried the Chicago classic 10" deep dish. damn the portions were huge, and it was sooo much cheese. i thought deep dish was a lot of sauce but it was thick, bready/breadstick like dough with hellllaaaa mozz cheese. was obv not the best pizza i have ever tried but it was pretty good! Would not get again but fun experience. the smallest size was definitely enough for my friend and i, we threw away a lot of it because we didnt want to carry it. The wait time for one deep dish is 45 min-q hour, so i would say that unless you want to wait indoors for an hour, get appetizers or order ahead for takeout. Also would recommend getting sauce for the crust!

Giordano's has a great set up. You walk inside and there are 2 hostess 1 to put you on the wait list and one to take your pizza order since it does take a while. Deep dish takes 45 min. I loved the hostess or manger that was in a white shirt calling out the names. She wasn't paying any games and was getting people in them seats. It is quite busy so the service was a tad bit slow but that's to be expected with a packed restaurant. All of the food I tried to was a 10 out of 10 no complaints. If you get the Italian beef you can't go wrong with adding hot peppers!

I've never tried deep-dish pizza in my life, so I decided that Giordano's would be a good start since it was recommended by locals. The classic cheese pizza was VERY filling (Ordered a 10-inch, ate two slices and saved the rest...), but the crust was flaky and it really brought down the taste profile of the pie. The price was just as hearty as the food itself- $22 for a 10' pizza. While the food was fine, the service took an hour when our waiter promised it would be out in half an hour. I understand this; such a gigantic (and deep) pizza must take a while to make. All in all, Giordano's is a good place for tourists seeking a simple serving of deep dish. Be sure to stop by and try some!

This was highly anticipated but very disappointing. Amazing salads but the pizzas were not great with undercooked dough. Friendly but very slow service.

First off, the service and flow of this place is INSANE. I felt like I was being conveyer belted through right on to flavor town. Our server was tyler, he was amazing!! We tried chicago classic as our first ever chicago pizza and we loved it. The manager (I think?) was the one who brought the food and served it up to us. It was so hot and juicy and filled up and epic. 8.9/10!!!! Also the wall of the pizza was so flaky and soft. I loved it. I WILL SAY IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME VISITOR: you have to pre order your pizza!!! They are super busy and the pizza takes a little bit.

I recently took a trip to Chicago and was sooo excited to experience true Chicago deep dish pizza. Giordano's was highly recommended by locals and tourist and it did not disappoint! My friends and I ordered wings, the house salad, and a Caesar salad as appetizers. The salads were fresh and the wings were cooked to perfection. When we received the pizza I was super excited!!! It was EVERYTHING!!! Hot, fresh, and oh so cheesy I am obsessed!!! Every bite was filled with cheese and toppings. I was in pizza heaven!!! In addition to the deliciousness, the service and environment was exceptional. I can't wait to visit again!

You can order the pizza ahead of time before you sit to make it more efficient but even then our table was ready even before we had time to order. The ingredients and the pizza was very fresh. But the flavor and taste was super basic. Maybe I'm too bougie for this kind of pizza. I like to have fig and brie on my pizza.

Always an awesome pizza place to visit when I'm in Chicago. Love the food and the service!! Get there early dinner time because the place gets packed fast.

Came here for date night and we were very impressed. We already knew the food was good but didn't expect the service to be the highlight of the night. Our waitress went above and beyond to get me a mocktail (I'm pregnant) even though they don't have it on the menu. She was so nice and I wish I got her name for this review. Pizza had a really nice char to it but not too much. Grimaldi's sausage and meatballs are the best on pizza. Will be back again!

First things first, eat pizza. Specially Chicago's deep dish pizza. We decided to check out the iconic Giordano's for early dinner (5pm). We got lucky and only had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. When we left, there was a huge crowd waiting for a table. We ordered the small classic chicago deep dish (6 slices) to share. Server did say it will be quite a wait for it because they have to ensure it gets cooked (estimated time was like 45 minutes). We were hangry lol. Ambiance is lively and busy. Lots of tv for the basketball game. Service was great despite there being a wait for the food. They checked up on us and offered water and ETA for food arrival. The Cosmo drink was so strong that the server was kind enough to replace it with another drink of my choosing. I went with the Moscow mule. When the pizza finally arrived, it was glorious!! It was pretty big and cheesy. The server prepared us a slice and the cheese pull was strong! It was nice and hot. Although I'm not a crust person, I did like how flavorful and cheesy the pizza was. We got it with pepperoni and mushroom. So delicious. We definitely had leftovers. All in all, I'm still a fan of thin crust but it's good to try Chicago deep dish pizza at least once.

First authentic Chicago deep dish pizza! The crust was so light and flaky. The cheese was certainly stretchy and it's evident in the image attached. I will say, you better bite and cut the cheese with your teeth as you chew before swallowing because the strength of the cheese elasticity is high lol. Their drinks are also very good. Great experience and would certainly be back when in the city again.

Expectations were high as this was one of the top 3 places recommended for pizza in Chicago. I tried both dip dish and "tavern style" it's just thin crust. Honestly both were sad. Don't recommend. The servers wear the coolest t shirts though.

When in Chicago it's a must to go here! Like we're you really in Chicago without deep dish! Pizza so good any flavor! Great for family and they take picture to remember the moment! I'd be back

This review is just to let those visiting they NO LONGER have the lunch special for $11.95. I was still able to get a 6 inch deep dish (sausage and mushrooms added) for $15.95. The special was either a sausage or pepperoni 6 inch deep dish with one side. Was my pizza delicious? Absolutely. Did I get great service? Yes! I arrived at 11:30 on a Thursday and the place quickly filled up.
