"This restaurant is located on Böhmischer Platz, which is a lively little square – the hustle and bustle makes the pavement terrace a popular spot in summer. The interior also has its charm: distinctive whitewashed brick walls, attractive floorboards and modern design elements create a charming, almost minimalist urban interior. This is matched by the modern, straightforward and often pared-back cuisine made predominantly from regional ingredients, for example the mashed potatoes with lovage and whey foam. Chef Sarah Hallmann (she is also the source of culinary ideas and, as the proprietor, provides cordial and professional service) and sous-chef Rosa Beutelspacher complement each other beautifully in this remarkable partnership." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Berlin Restaurants | Eater

"Chef Sarah Hallmann’s Michelin-starred restaurant is partly notable for its focus on reforming macho restaurant culture and flattening the kitchen hierarchy. Based on the splendid food here, it’s working. The tasting menu varies, but often balances earthy local produce with nods to Japan in ingredients like yuzu and nori. Opt for the six-course tasting menu, or show up without a reservation for access to a small bistro menu if you don’t want to commit." - Tim Forster

Wonderful experience. Cozy and peaceful place. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. The food was amazing, the wine pairing top notch. Everything felt high quality and it was a fantastic experience. Definitely recommended and will visit again for sure.

Google
Probably my favorite restaurant in Berlin right now. Refined, but not stuffy restaurant with a tasting menu. Portions are big enough for a few bites, but not overwhelming. Pacing is good, with a variety of seasonal flavors. The wagu tartare with Jerusalem artichoke crisps was a highlight, for me since it has the best balance of texture, but overall a great meal. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Berlin.

I celebrated my birthday at Hallmann & Klee and it was one of the best ideas ever. The menu was creative, the food absolutely delicious, and the service flawless. A truly memorable Michelin-starred experience I won’t forget!

Google
My dining experience at Hallmann and Klee two weekends ago was without a doubt the best meal of my life. Sorry mom...As I do more international travel, I aim to book a tasting menu in every new city. And while I might upset some friends in Iceland, I cannot say enough about my experience here. Every course from start to finish was top-notch. There was diversity in flavors and presentations, and each dish left my mind wandering off. Trying to identify the ingredient adding some surprising sweetness or marveling at the childhood memories that came up with certain courses. While this would be enough in many situations, the service helped set things apart. Working in restaurant management in a previous life, watching the small staff work together was mesmerizing in its own way. As a solo traveler who does not drink, it's not uncommon to feel overlooked at times. Not the case here. Every team member was friendly, engaging, and dedicated to making this an incredible experience. Highly recommend!

Google
What a wonderful restaurant! It was one of my top culinary experiences in Berlin. We had the non-veggie menu with alcohol-free drink pairing. First of all the savoury courses were just amazing. Everything was very well prepared and balanced - but in combination with the drinks it all went up to a whole other level. The drinks complemented all dishes perfectly, big thanks to the sommelier for this amazing job. Really hard to say which dish was the best, all had their own twist. We had the feeling that dessert is not their strength, compared to all the savoury dishes before but it was still good. The service was attentive and really nice. We also liked the laidback atmosphere outside at the Böhmi. I can 100% recommend this place and the star is more than well deserved :)

We have a great and very tastefull evening. Great menu and good service. We sat at a high table at the window, very romantic, but not that visible for the staff.

The dinner here was absolutely great. The food was amazing. The showstopper was definitely the fresh pasta cacio e Pepe with this incredible ripened/cured cream cheese from Switzerland. Paired together with a nice Aligote with citrus notes, this course was just truly exceptional. The service was on point as well. Very attentive and perfect timing. 4hrs went by like nothing and we never had empty glasses. I really Want to point out the atmosphere here. The tables are not too close to each other, the lighting is perfectly cosy and not too dark nor too bright. This made the evening even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely come back 😊

After quite a long time thinking about visiting Hallmann & Klee, we finally made it. If you think about it and are able to afford it: book it! We had a very very good time, food is amazing, wine pairing could be shared and is a must, menus could be adjusted on a course basis between veg and non veg. Service was attentive and spot on. Standout dishes were the scallop, the dove and the kohlrabi, which doesn’t mean that the rest was not also absolutely delicious. Thank you so much for this evening!

Yelp
Super glad we found this in Berlin! The pastries are divine, and everything was just very flavorful and light. We came around 9:30am on a Sunday (opening time), and within an hour the place was rightfully packed. Pro tip: the mimosas are made with fresh OJ and prosecco, so fresh you can taste the pulp.

Yelp
I adore this place. It is my favorite breakfast place in Berlin and the best pancakes I've ever eaten. They are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside I have no idea how they pull that off. I've only ever been here for breakfast so I can't judge their dinner menu. If you want to come here for breakfast on the weekend you should be prepared for a waiting period of up to one hour. It is absolutely worth it though. A++

Yelp
This is, hands down, my favourite restaurant in Berlin. I've been here three times, once on a date, once with friends, and once with visiting parents, and all experiences were flawless. The atmosphere is easy-going, the staff are smart and offer interesting suggestions without up-selling. Their chanterelle dishes in early August were perfect, burst in your mouth chanterelles, and the spargel dishes in May were delicate, juicy, super fresh dishes. I think the best thing about this place is that they take these perfect ingredients, and make slightly strange and surprising dishes out of them, without ever letting you lose track of that very specific joy of a crisp, fresh bite of something just picked or caught.

Yelp
This is a little bit of Chez Panisse in an unlikely corner of Neukölln. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors are subtle yet adventurous. The menu changes based on the availability of ingredients, so there's a reason to keep coming in over the course of the season. It's quiet enough for an intimate lunch or a business meal, and attractive yet almost entirely unpretentious. Hallmann und Klee is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Had delicious, beautifully presented lunch in a nondescript part of Berlin. The ambiance is airy and modern. Loved my squash soup with coconut cream - generously portioned and silky smooth topped with crispy squash (6 Euros). Green salad w/ radishes and pumpkin seeds was very fresh (8 Euros). I stole many bites of my hubby's braised ox cheeks and super creamy mashed potatoes (14 Euros). A meal of this quality would cost at least 30% more in San Francisco. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Happened upon this cafe en-route to a park and I'm so glad I stopped in. Even though we just had breakfast, I couldn't resist ordering a slice of their beautiful double layer poppyseed cake with a not too sweet filling, it was cake perfection. I also ordered a cappuccino and it was also good. I sat close to the kitchen and saw all the beautiful plates coming out and I wished I had a second stomach, everything smelled good and plated beautifully. I'm definitely coming back next time I visit Berlin.

Yelp
How I love this place! Great exquisite cuisine at normal prices! If I am one day to open a place myself it would have exactly this mixture of great ingredients, love for the dishes and laid back interior! Must try!!! The current seasonal dish, white asparagus with lamb is endulging!

Yelp
the first thing you notice coming here is the carefully designed, airy interior in a completely renovated space right on böhmischer platz - not what you'd normally expect from this part of town, but perhaps a sign of things to come for old rixdorf. it seemed pretty popular already on their first sunday, but having just moved in, their menu is small for now (and the facade outside is still under construction). will get better and better i'm sure!

Yelp
We made a long trek to have breakfast in Berlin. Special gem in a quiet neighborhood. Poached eggs with salmon were perfectly cooked. Warm banana bread with quark and berries were outstanding. Attentive wait staff. NEw York Times recommendation - a sure bet it's good. It was wonderful.

Yelp
Brand new place. It has a clean and natural modern look with an open kitchen where the owners are cooking up Flammküchen and risotto. The Flammküchen's good stuff-went for veggie and wasn't disappointed. Crispy edges rounding off a small rectangular nod to Italy. Prices for dinner are great, but they close too early, at least for now. Their desserts, however, are a bit pricy, but worth it if you like soft chocolate pieces of joy. I must admit that I do. They've got a sheer black piece, moon-shaped and sprayed with gold that is killer. As in I think I would probably kill for it. Darin is a chocolate mousse, touched by a kiss of caramel, over a thin sole of coconut, and centered by a single fresh and proud raspberry. I would recommend an afternoon here in the sun outside with a book and a ping pong racket. Or maybe call them and see if they'll deliver if you're too lazy to get out of bed. It's always worth a shot.
