NYC New Restaurant Openings, August 2025 | Eater NY

"A new neighborhood spot for sampling cheddar cornbread, Hudson Valley steelhead trout, and steak in one sitting; opening highlights include house-made fettuccine, Benton’s country ham with summer melon, and grilled cabbage with tomato curry, with cocktails from an alum of LA’s Alta Adams and a wine list curated by a former L’Atelier de Robuchon sommelier." - Nadia Chaudhury

NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"In Hell’s Kitchen, Hudson Local is a cork-covered restaurant with a grand piano, which will host a performer playing classics from the Great American Songbook every Thursday evening (starting in September). It’s from the same chef behind Hudson Vu, and the menu takes inspiration from all over the world: there’s grilled cabbage with Indian spices, golden tilefish with tomato gochujang butter, and steak marinated in shio koji and pineapple. A wine program from a Le Bernardin alum, and cocktails from an Alta Adams bartender round things out." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

What a great place in Hell’s Kitchen to have dinner. Excellent food ! We had the grilled cabbage - I don’t remember ever having such an amazing vegan dish. We also had the hunger steak which was delicious. Chef came over to check in and make sure everything was to our liking. Finally, Lacey recommended outstanding delicious and perfect wine pairing to our selected dishes. Will definitely be back !

⭐️⭐️⭐️🤩Major vibe! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed — every staff member was friendly, organized, and genuinely attentive. The energy of the restaurant is chic and inviting, with beautiful art and photography displayed throughout. I started with the mushroom ravioli, which was perfectly flavorful and served hot. Then came the steak with broccoli and potato hash browns — absolutely top notch. The sauce that came with this dish was so delicious I could’ve eaten it by itself. I went with the wine pairing, and every pour was high-quality and perfectly matched to each course. The presentation of every dish was creative and thoughtful — truly picture-worthy. Even with a packed house, the service stayed smooth and attentive all night. Dessert was the perfect finish — a cornbread-inspired dish that hit that ideal balance of sweet and savory, and another vanilla and raspberry delight that was light, refreshing, and full of flavor. Both felt comforting yet elevated. What made the evening even more special was learning that the menu was inspired by the chef’s childhood, paying tribute to his late parents who encouraged his love for cooking. You could really feel the heart behind every dish. This is the kind of place I’d celebrate my birthday or bring friends to make memories. There’s even a grand piano in the dining area, so I’m sure live music will be a vibe on some nights too. Highly recommend — 5/5, amazing food, amazing service, and full of soul.

Amazing night!! Great location, wonderful atmosphere. No complaints, I am very satisfied. The staff was extremely accommodating. Especially enjoyed the sommeliers insight on wine pairings. The food is some of the best I have had in the city, everything was really amazing. The summer medley vinaigrette I could DRINK! And by far the chicken tartine is a must try. Can’t get over how juicy it was!! My favorite of the night was dessert with the Eton Mess. To die for. Highly recommend this place, you won’t regret it!

Even if I could give the folks at Vu 10 stars, that wouldn’t be enough. They went above and beyond for our anniversary dinner, from complimentary bottled water to the chef bringing our meals out and explaining them. The wait staff was friendly and genuine, and the surprise free champagne was the best nightcap ever (until we went upstairs to their sister property, Vu, for sunset cocktails and more unexpected VIP treatment)! The menu is so much more accessible under the new ownership. Our meals were very different but each nailed it on every level. We WILL be back!

What a gem!!! We started our evening with cocktails on the Hudson Vu rooftop (always a favorite), then took the elevator down to the beautifully designed restaurant…stylish yet relaxed, with perfect lighting. From the start, service was spot-on. Lacey and her team were attentive without being intrusive. The food was just as impressive. The baby gem salad was crisp and perfectly seasoned, and the steelhead trout came with a tahini sauce so good we wanted bread just to savor every last drop. For mains, the confit chicken with truffled polenta cake was next-level delicious, and the crispy Comté-topped potatoes were pure decadence. We finished with the warm blondie topped with gelato and pecans…a dessert worth returning for on its own. The chef’s talent for layering flavors and textures blew us away. We left already planning our next visit…thankfully, we’re local!

This amazing place has quickly risen to the top of my favorite spots in NYC. The menu is phenomenal, I’m a huge fan of the burger and hanger steak. It was my second time dining there and the General Manager Lacey remembered me from my first visit which was a great personal touch. Lacey is always so friendly, warm and welcoming, she is beyond knowledgeable when offering great wine pairing suggestions. The cocktail selection is also incredible, I recommend the Cucumber Gimlet its beyond refreshing and delicious. This is definitely a place you have to experience.

We were here for a rose soiree on the rooftop this week. The rooftop is beautiful with scenic views of the Hudson River and the city behind you. Appetizers were creative and great with the Whispering Angel rose. We decided we were still hungry and sat down in the beautiful restaurant for dinner. Our party of eight agreed the food was outstanding as well as the service. The cornbread ( yes cornbread ) was amazing as well as the fettucine, steak and chicken. The fried broccoli side and graham cracker ice cream were also a real taste sensation. I have a finicky group and they thought this was one of the best meals they have had in a long time and can't wait to go back.

My husband and I had a last minute dinner at Hudson Local after drinks on the rooftop and we were really blown away with the meal. We shared the smoked trout, which was slightly charred and so flavorful, and the fettuccine which was house made and so delicious. At first, we were not sure what to expect of the chicken tartine but the meat was so tender and not dry. We learned from the very welcoming Chef, the chicken breast is brined. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
Service [check] ambiance [check] but the food is a [check plush]‼ Sometimes restaurants connected to hotels are better looking than the food is tasting this is not that place! The staff are nice from greeting upon arrival, it's a pretty space well lit but dim and the music was vibey which set the tone for what we are here for the Food! The Chefs name is Drake and he made that Hotline Bling on my plate! Come for the flavor in every bite from the mushroom ravioli to the steaks and everything in between is slamming!! Came with a large party meat eaters and plant eaters alike all raved about their dishes! Notable mention the wine selection is top notch so ask about the wine parings! It was my first time but not my last, I will be a repeat offender!

Yelp
Little Gem 'Caesar' - sweet chili vinaigrette, apple, cucumber - pickled onion, parmesan, garlic breadcrumbs Got in too late to want to walk or go anywhere so we decided to check out the menu in one of the restaurants located in Ink48. We learned that they had only been open for a couple of months and that they were not a hotel restaurant. The menu looked great so we dove in. We ordered: Corn Ribs - lime, chili - this is a potentially good dish, the corn was a little too charred for me. Tumbleweed Cheddar Cornbread jalapeno, maple butter - loved this more but again, a little over done. The bottom was sticking and a little too crusty. Chicken Confit - truffle polenta, honey mustard kale, maitake - this was delicious, cooked perfectly, the truffle polenta was amazing. It made the whole dinner. Dry-Aged Double Cheeseburger - sesame bun, American cheese, crispy onion, tallow remoulade - great burger! Crispy onions are the way of the burger now. I'd definitely eat here again when in New York!

Yelp
Linguini was quite good, but a hamburger was greasy and yet overcooked, with a fairly dull seasoning and a bun saturated in even more fat. Maybe should have ordered something else, but the menu only has a tiny set of options. The waitress was nice, though.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience hanging out at the downstairs bar. Martese was a pleasant personality.
