All the New Restaurants in the Hamptons | Eater NY

"James Beard Award winning TV personality Rocco DiSpirito is bringing his coastal Italian favorites to this Southampton space with soaring ceilings and a large veranda. Among the standouts are impossibly thin pane carasau topped with rosemary and stracchino; paccheri pesto with shrimp; and nut-crusted halibut." - Beth Landman

12 Great Summer Dining Spots in the Hamptons

"Rocco DiSpirito is back, having joined forces with nightlife impresario Kyky Conille to take over Southampton’s former Blue Mar space in Southampton and to open a sister to the Little Italy’s flagship. Among standouts dishes are paccheri with pesto rosso, heirloom tomatoes and local royal red shrimp; Ora king salmon with cashew cream; and whole herb-roasted baby chicken. The back room lounge, Bijoux, revs up later in the evening." - Beth Landman

This is a beautiful spot right in town in Southampton. The restaurant offers spacious indoor and outdoor dining. I loved that the outdoor terrace was covered in beautiful hydrangeas. Service was excellent and the food was tasty! My friends and I ordered many of the dishes on the menu and were blown away by the flavors. Looking forward to going back for another visit to try the rest!

Tonight we were celebrating a birthday and without saying anything the staff made it soooo special with glasses of bubbly and a candled dessert. Besides the wonderful service, by Alex, the food was awesome!! Loved the tuna appetizer and pastas were excellent. I only wish the restaurant stays around for a long time! Thanks for a great dinner!

My family and I were so excited to try this restaurant, however we were met with so much disappointment. The service here was beyond awful. When we first sat down, the bus boy brought us stale bread. We told him it was stale and he argued with me that it wasn’t. I pulled out another piece of bread to show him that I couldn’t even pull it apart it was so stale. He finally agreed that it was stale and said he would get us a different batch. Again it was stale. Our waiter took over 20 minutes to greet us and take our drink and appetizer orders. However, we waited patiently and the appetizer came out, but no drinks. The bottle of wine and sprite came out half way through eating our appetizer. The waiter never came back and we had to ask a bus boy to find him so we could put our dinner order in. We ordered our dinners and the waiter asked me if I wanted another sprite and I said I’d wait for my dinner. Once our dinner came out, we never saw our waiter throughout dinner, even after several requests to bus boys that we were looking for him because we wanted more drinks and another bottle of wine. We finally saw the waiter after our dinner plates and drink glasses were cleared. We ordered dessert and that was the last we saw of the waiter for the rest of the night. He didn’t even bring us our check or take it to run our credit cards. Someone else had to do it. Because of this horrible service, I will never come back here. This situation should be addressed. The food was fantastic and the decor was beautiful.

The food, drinks, and atmosphere were phenomenal. We arrived early to our reservation and they were very accommodating. Also, we were celebrating birthday and they brought over complimentary champagne which was a very nice touch.

Since the hours here are limited to the evening on only 4 days of the week, and I was in Southampton on a Sunday at dusk, I decided to try this new establishment. I came here hungry, so I ordered a lot of food. The setting is fabulous, with hydrangeas adorning the pale, chic decor. I started with Sardinian olive oil and cheese-covered pane carasau, which was super yummy. Service was somewhat choppy, with a large gap between the appetizer and main course. However, the wait was definitely worth it, and the paccheri and Brussels sprouts were absolutely worth the splurge. I dream of this meal every day! If you’re here on an evening in Southampton (not Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday), come here! Worth the high price point and hype.

So happy Rocco decided to come back to Southampton. He is a gifted chef! The Italian burrata salad was spectacular, an explosion of taste, highly recommend. The halbut was delicate, perfectly cooked with an orange beurre blanc that lingers on the palate, light and super healthy. We finished this exquisite meal with Chocolate Gianduja Crunch Cake absolutely devine; like an Italian wafer cookie on crack. And a lemon affogato that was a whipped cloud of perfectly tart and sweet cream with a lingonbery compote. Out of this world. Treat yourself to a worthwhile dinning experience. The only negative was the 70's disco music.

Il Pelicano brings a fresh vibe, new menu, and the delicious food of Rocco DiSpirito to Southampton. Service was also impeccable — a new “must visit” when you’re out east.

Just wow… can’t overstate how good the food was here. The ribeye was literally perfect. It was the best meal we’ve had in a long time. Will 100% come back.

Yelp
Rocco DiSpirito has done it again! Flawlessly executed dishes with a mix of local ingredients and imported ingredients (the famously amazing red shrimp) make this a can't miss spot in the Hamptons this season.
