I had the omakase and it was more of a pre set menu than anything else. Most dishes were boring and simple. Seared tuna salad was basic, the 5 types of almost the same sashimi in a bowl boring, the 5 nigiri was the only good part and was nothing more than the selection at a basic sushi restaurant.

Google
I’m actually pretty disappointed in the portion size for the amount of money paid. My roll was delicious, the rice was delicious but the duck.. it looks like I got someone’s leftovers. Tiny little baby pieces with all the garnish though for $25? Pass. Tried once, will not be back.

We celebrated a family member’s 60th birthday here and were not disappointed by the efficient and professional waitstaff. The food was absolutely delectable. The sushi bar area was a wonderful addition, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We were suggested the fresh tuna, and it was perfect. This is one of the few higher-end establishments in which the amount and quality of food is justified by the price. We look forward to returning, and we definitely recommend.

I’ve been twice for lunch and I have to say I love this place! Every time I’ve gone, I’ve had the same two waitresses and they are amazinggg! The lunch special is great It was filling but not too much! I really liked the salmon salad The dressing has a wasabi flavor to it also. Shrimp tempura also was gooood The veggies accompanied with the shrimp was delicious. I already see me coming often here any time I’m working near Memorial city.

Google
overall a decent experience — great ambiance and great social hour menu & hours (monday is 4:30 - 10pm!) food was a bit too fusion-y for my taste, but everything came out timely & beautifully plated. unfortunately, the kitchen ran out of a lot of items we wanted; tempura was too battered and fried; no soba/ramen for carbs (only pasta). the tuna crunch & Poseidon rolls were the favourites definitely not the restaurant’s fault, but there were a ton of mosquitos that hindered the experience for us. overall a decent place, would only be back for the social hour & drinks!

Google
The food and the waitress’s service were quite good, but the woman at the entrance didn’t let us leave, claiming we hadn’t paid. I told her to check with the waitress, but she stood in front of us and the door, as if trying to prevent us from escaping, and asked us to go back to the table. I had to find the waitress myself so she could confirm that we had already paid. Terrible attitude and way of handling the situation I won’t be going back

Google
Kuu is so good and their sushi is so fresh, their martinis are strong and the miso soup is so filling. They have great happy hour deals as well. I will always enjoy me some Kuu

Google
Came in to celebrate my son's graduation and the food was good. However, the customer service was terrible. Our waitress looks like she didn't want to be there to serve us, didn't bother to check in between to see if we need anything. We'd been here before, and the customer service was not this terrible. Won't be coming back anytime soon when there are so many other high end sushi restaurant in town with much better customer service.

Yelp
WOW! Food was delicious, service was excellent, and vibe was giving class! Must tries: the lamb and foie gras, lobster pasta, and poseidon roll. Yum! Also recommend the miso cod and chili shrimp! Our server Vi was friendly and attentive and the manager went above and beyond to make sure our dinner was lovely.

Yelp
Dropped by for lunch with H, my sister, niece & her hubby. Place was pretty much empty. Service was really slow due to only one server. He tried, very hard we ended up waiting a bit for our drinks. Being 1/2 Japanese, I really do not like the "fusion" of different flavors. Just give me top grade fish, good shoyu, fresh ginger, wasabi & rice. I opted for the octopus sunomono, hirataki & hamachi. While fresh, I was a bit disappointed because this place is so hyped up & people fawn all over this place. Is rather go down the street to my favorite place (y'all know) next time.

Yelp
RUDE and Disrespectful sushi bar staff. I decided to go here solo while in town on business.I sat at the sushi bar and waited for over 10 minutes to be greeted. In the meantime the sushi chefs were highly engaged in a Spanish conversation with the only other person (male) at the bar. This continued the entire time I was there. Little did they know I understood every word they were saying ( very disrespectful). My waiter came up to me and apologized for the wait. He was great. Unfortunately they don't train their sushi chefs how to be polite and show respect. Anyone going solo don't go to the sushi bar.

Yelp
This was a perfect sushi spot for lunch. Service was amazing, space is beautiful, and the food was super yummy!

Yelp
This might be the only worth while sushi location near the memorial area. There's free parking in the adjacent garage and large bar for happy hours. Interior is pretty muted, it's a dark environment and meant to be a bit more intimate of a setting. Our waitresses was friendly, attempted to be funny and personable, which is basically above and beyond this day and age. Menu is extensive, hot and cold prepared dishes are available, lots or nigiri and sashimi options to pick from, and about a dozen rolls round out a selection that should please most. The rolls had some flavor combinations that were new to me which made the experience stand out for sure, mostly ending towards sweeter notes. Spicy chopped scallop was yummy, tuna belly is always a winner, and foie gras also was nice to see on the menu. A fun item we ordered was the hot rock beef which adds some theatrically to your meal. A convenient location for the upscale sushi lover on the westside.

Yelp
Took myself to dinner at Kuu as a treat after getting a mammogram next door. It was delicious! I got the lycheetini and edamame on happy hour, and they were both so very satisfying. Then I ordered (with best starting first): seared scallop with uni, beef with quail egg, fatty tuna, yellowtail, chopped scallop, salmon roe, snow crab and octopus. All was delicious! Service was great too. I first tried this place when I was sick and in the hospital (next door) 8 years ago and it has been one of my favorite places since. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
Enjoyed a happy hour here last night. There is a huge parking garage with plenty of free parking. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the restaurant is beautiful. We looked over the regular menu and found everything to be extremely overpriced. From the happy hour menu we tried a crudo (tasted like it had Italian salad dressing on top), shishito peppers, spider roll, Poseidon roll, and yui roll. We would get the peppers and Poseidon roll again. They are big fans of sauce on rolls here. Even the spider roll had a sweet sauce. We would have enjoyed a simpler roll on the happy hour menu. Overall, we thought the happy hour was fine. Nothing blew us away.

Yelp
We started the birthday weekend with a great meal at Kuu. From start to finish, everything was fun, delicious and just right. The fish was fresh and well prepared. Service from our server Julio was great. And we had the bonus of a violinist who was walking through the restaurant. Truly great start to the weekend.

Yelp
Wowowowow! Went here on a whim since most our usual sushi places closed on Monday and was surprised!! Happy hour later until close (4:30? Something like that). Ordered a bunch from here and regular menu to try! The service was AMAZING, the sushi was straight from bar where we were sitting and I will say the rice was one of the best we've had in a long time! Our favorite of the evening was definitely the Kanpachi nigiri. Included bill between 2 people, 1000% will return

Yelp
Went in with some family members for happy hour yesterday(Friday) evening. Greeted as soon as we walked in. We were told for happy hour that we could could only choose between bar seating or sushi bar seating based on the fact that we were walk-ins. A bit odd but ok, numerous tables around us in the happy hour section were empty. Only 1 table was used. Wonder if it was a staffing issue but ohwell. Just be aware that if you want a table best to make a reservation. We were seated right away which was nice. Between the 4 of us we got 3 different drinks (one a mocktail). All were very delicious. We ordered 4 rolls of sushi, tuna tartar, 2 orders of ube chips, garlic edamame, Creamy rock shrimp, calamari, and a souffle. Everything was well cooked, had great presentation. Only one we didn't care for was the calamari, was kind of bland so the side sauce was very appreciated. For me the wait time for the souffle was worth it, I really loved it. The bartender was also our primary server and she was fantastic. Towards our last 20 or so minutes there was live music, a violinist was towards the end of the bar. I really enjoyed listening to him play. Even with the extra music it never got loud in here which was really nice. Able to enjoy conversation the whole time. Tip- look at the dessert menu ahead of time, we didn't and when we ordered the souffle we were told it takes 30 minutes.

Yelp
I was looking for somewhere to go for happy hour and I found this place nearby. They have soooo many delicious options for HH. We got 3 different rolls, 2 orders of Ube chips, calamari, edemane, tuna tartare, spicy shrimp, lychee martini, and a Ube soufflé. The tuna tartare was to die for. I mean really, cooked to perfection. The best thing I had tonight. My lychee Martini was nice and smooth. Def felt a tipsy 30 minutes later haha! The service was also very very good. Forgot the bartenders name but she was very kind & patient with us! Also, the restaurant is very pretty as well. The only thing I disliked was the Ube soufflé. I love Ube and it caught my attention when I saw it on the menu. The bartender did mention it would take 30 minutes to make but I def don't think it was worth the wait. But other than that everything was great. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Yelp
This is one of the best sushi places I have been to in Houston. The service was excellent as well! They have a great Happy hour as well which was nice.

Christine J.

Yelp
Drove by the restaurant multiple times but finally decided to try! I thoroughly enjoyed their sushi/sashimi and couldn't complain about the quality. Fish tasted fresh, service was good, and the interior/vibe was nice. The price is a bit on the expensive end for the high quality you are paying for. However, it's a nice place for a nice date or dinner with friends. Their specialty rolls were all really good. No complaints from me!

Liz A.

Yelp
This place is amazing. We happened in here one afternoon looking for sushi on our way out of Houston. We walked in and got a table right away. We had a hard time navigating the menu but our server helped us out and explained everything well. She made some great recommendations- Like the Japanese Lemonade - I can't even express how delicious it is! We started off with the garlic edamame which had an incredible smoky flavor and wasn't too spicy or too heavy on the soy sauce as edamame can sometimes be. Next we had the June roll and the truffle roll as well as a few other small bites. There is valet parking and a parking garage but we just parked in the lot. They also had live music which was very romantic!

Yelp
Wifey had our first born at Mem city hospital so KUU probably strategically placed itself in front of the hospital for new mom's first meal of sushi. Thats exactly what we did. Unfortunately, we couldn't get her to come down for happy hour so I had to do take out. We ordered one roll and 6 nigiri which came out to $50 bucks which is on the higher end. KUU clearly has delicious sushi and high quality. However, for the similar cuts of sushi and nigiri, it would have been half the cost if we ate there during happy hour. Good place. I'll have to come back to try out the happy hour. Looks good, wish they did take out for happy hour.

Ananya S.

Yelp
Tasty and inventive nigiri and rolls - on the pricier side but it's worth it. Service has been a bit slow lately - maybe they are training new servers? The chefs at the sushi bar are excellent and friendly if you choose to sit there - sometimes they'll give you an extra dish if things are slow. Try the social hour - it's a good one!

Eni A.

Yelp
We should have known by the strange odor when we were seated that the food was NOT going to be good. The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 2 is due to the wonderful waitstaff, it's not their fault that the food was gross. The sushi had strange spices and dare I say it too seasoned. The scallops came with a raw egg that the waitress rubbed all over the rest of the dish which made it even less edible. The crispy duck while quite nice came with accompaniments that I can only describe as fruity, gritty pieces and chewy paper..yah. My family won't be returning.

Kim D.

Yelp
I'm always looking for sushi places with a great HH menu. They have an extensive HH menu that includes carpaccio, rolls, fried items, and drinks. Heads up, during HH you're only allowed to sit in the bar seating or sushi bar seating without a reservation. We were fine with that; however, if you prefer a table, make sure to reserve. Getting into the food, we ordered several pieces of nigiri: sake, chopped hotate, and foie gras. They were all tasty and fresh. We ordered the June roll and Poseidon roll. I was very impressed with how they tasted. I wasn't a fan of the wagyu unagi as the meat was chewy and defeats the name wagyu. As for the uni pasta (AVOID), it was dry and flavorless. It tasted like butter noodles, and it's as if there's no uni in it. Overall, I recommend getting the rolls and nigiri here.

Alyssa C.

Yelp
We went for New Year's Eve and really enjoyed it. They gave the option of a holiday box with a variety of different types of sushi so we got two of those. They have a violinist that plays an electric violin that walks around the restaurant and gives it a really classy ambiance. The food was extremely good and we will for sure be going back. We did make a reservation and sat for about thirty minutes and had to ask for someone to take our order but they gave us on the house edamame so we ended up being very happy. I wish I took a picture of everything but was really hungry. I would recommend the California uni which was both our favorites.

Abby H.

Yelp
Overall, very delicious! Went for the social hour on a Monday (must sit in bar or lounge area). Great prices for really yummy food! Highly recommend.

Alexandra K.

Yelp
This was my first time at Kuu and overall it was alright. First and foremost, the fish quality was great! Each piece was a pretty good size and they were cut well. But, I didn't like that the pieces didn't already have wasabi under the fish like a traditional piece would. Also the wasabi provided at the table didn't taste that great.. it wasn't bad but it didn't taste freshly made. The appetizers were all tasty but maybe a little over oiled. Our server was very kind! The only other shortcoming was when our fish was served, they didn't always inform us of what was on the dish and when they did we were quickly told which piece was which so I hardly even know which fish I enjoyed more and was just blindly eating them. There's definitely no chance of me reordering my favorites since I have no idea of what was what. Bottom line is it's not a bad place but considering I live inside the 610 loop, it's not worth the drive for me. I also assume there might be cheaper options with similar levels of quality nearby this restaurant. Parking wasn't easy but if you're looking for somewhere semi fancy and you're nearby this isn't a bad choice.

Maria N.

Yelp
second time coming here and it did not disappoint! they have an extensive happy hour (hh) which is what we mainly came for but we also ordered off the regular menu. the fish was fresh and did not taste fishy at all some items we ordered were foie gras - 3:5 toro nigiri - 5/5 otoro nigiri - 5/5 kuu roll - 5/5 - very refreshing bincho carpaccio - 5/5 (hh) madai carpaccio - 5/5 (hh) wagyu & eel - 4/5 (hh) - beef was not tender yellowtail nigiri - 5/5 salmon nigiri - 5/5 garlic edamame- 5/5 (hh) lycheetini - 5/5 (hh) waygu hot rock - 3/5 - slices were a lot thicker and a little chewy they didn't have uni (expected since we came on a tuesday) service was fantastic, ambiance is cute ! will come back

Graciela I.

Yelp
Second time coming to this restaurant and I think it is soo good, will be coming back. Their social menu is great, lots of options at a very good price. Everything is delicious, though I admit the tuna tartare is my favorite! The ambience is really nice, the waiter was very efficient, knew the menu so well; she was so helpful and friendly. The food is served very fast so I would suggest order as you eat so it's always fresh.

Jen I.

Yelp
The food was 5 star but not the table service. Ambiance good. There was a huge party that came in after we ordered a few items then we were pretty much forgotten about. Bar service was 5 star though. If I go back I will definitely just sit at the bar to eat and drink instead of a table. I forgot to take a pic of the sushi

Vicky B.

Yelp
I came here to try their sushi with my boyfriend since we had gotten a coupon at the Menu of Menu's event and wanted to use it before it expired! When we arrived we were greeted by a hostess who notified us that it was happy hour on Monday evening. We were seated at a small intimate table and our waiter came by right away to introduce himself and ask us about drinks. We both ordered cocktails and he gave us some time to review the happy hour menu and the regular menu to decide on food. We ordered multiple things to try and EVERYTHING tasted soooooo good. I can't explain how good it all tasted. Our waiter gave excellent service as well. Up until the end of the meal. He was on top of everything, picking up empty plates, checking up on us to see if we wanted to order more drinks, get more food or anything as such. At the end of the meal, it took a while for our waiter to come by our table so we could ask for our check and then another while for us to receive our check. Overall, great place for all occasions. There was a table nearby us of all ladies celebrating someone's birthday too and a slightly larger party in the back party room. Pricing is good for happy hour but regular pricing is pricey but honestly, I'd still pay because the food is just so delicious. Love a great place that's upscale and romantic!

Annie A.

Yelp
Went to Kuu for dinner and sat outside on their patio. They have a large indoor dining area and plenty of tables out on the patio as well. The cushions on the chairs outdoors were not the cleanest, but it was a bit loud inside so we decided to sit outside anyway. Our waitress was great and made sure to check in on us frequently. She had great recommendations for what to order. We ordered several pieces of nigiri as well as items from the hot and cold tasting categories. The Brussels sprouts were flash fried with a nice sweet and slightly tangy sauce on them and came out piping hot. All the fish was extremely fresh. My favorite dish was the Kanpaccio (Kanpachi with slices of orange and grape drizzled with yuzu). It was fresh and flavorful. I probably would not order the akaushi & quail egg again. I've had better wagyu elsewhere and the dish came out at room temperature when it was supposed to be served hot. Overall I had a good experience and would definitely go back here. They had good quality sushi and good prices on their regular menu. They also have a happy hour menu that I would like to try next time.

Bushra A.

Yelp
Love the place , food , service ... We ordered quite a lot and everyone enjoyed the live music , they have a lot of variety with dessert, food and love their selection of wine , mock tails and cocktails . Service is good , staff is pretty efficient.

Lizzie H.

Yelp
We went on a Friday night for Social Hour. Great deals and selection for this menu. The staff was very friendly and we liked our waitress. Love the modern Asian decor and feel of the restaurant. The bar lounge area is very large. We lived all the food! The rolls were the best. Very good and unique combinations that I hadn't seen before. The ika karaage was also one of my favorite things. Lastly the ube soufflé is a must! Hands down one of my favorite desserts. The ube chips were ok. I liked the creamy rock shrimp but they seemed a bit soggy. The only issues we had was that the waitress never brought soy sauce but had brought out the little bowls for it. Thought that was odd but the rolls didn't even need soy sauce so we didn't care. Also one roll took like 40 minutes to come out. It came out after our dessert did. Not sure why it took so long but it was worth the wait as it was delicious.

Angelique C.

Yelp
Definitely stop by for social hour. This was a cute place next to our hotel. I loved the sushi here. Everything was excellent from drinks, food and service.

Ken N.

Yelp
The food was delicious with the Happy Hour menu. I started out just trying out 2 rolls. It was so good that I ordered more & more. The waiter was also very attentive. He wanted to (and I let him) explain to me what's in the Tuna bites when I was served, & they were divine!!! It is also located between a shopping center & right in front of the Memorial Hermann hospital, & no way I am going to settle for deli or cafeteria food there. What a great location !!

Lisa M.

Yelp
This place is wonderful and every item I tried, soup and sushi was just THE BEST! If you are not sure what to order please ask your server because they know what to order and will let you know all about that item on their menu too! Very clean and the booth seats are comfortable too. The lighting is just right and this place is somewhere you go to celebrate a birthday, anniversary etc. It is a very nice place that you want to dress with business casual type clothing. No flip flops or tank tops , shorts etc. I wore a skirt and flats and felt very uncomfortable. Be prepared to spend over $100.00 for 1-2 people. Try their sake too it is delish!

Han N.

Yelp
Kuu was exactly what I expected a semi-fancy sushi restaurant to be. Starting with the ambiance, it is fancy enough for a special date night, dimly lit, booths and high tables available. The servers and hostess were all very friendly throughout the night. My friend was able to get a dinner reservation for 7 last minute, but it was a weekday; I assume it will be much busier on the weekend. The restaurant will cost a pretty penny depending on what you order. Sou Vide Wagyu (3.5/5): this came with four pieces of wagyu, there was too much fig red wine reduction sauce on the wagyu, I had to scrap some off so it doesn't overpower the slice of wagyu, fig pieces felt plain and out of place, but the actual wagyu was very soft and flavorful Lamb and Foie Gras (4.5/5): two lamb chops with a thick slice of foie gras on top; it was good, I am biased towards foie gras so I'd eat it with anything Bison Tartare (2/5): the flavors were just not blending well, Korean beef tartare is much better Miso Black Code (5/5): one of the better dishes we tried during this dinner, flavorful and soft Crispy Duck (5/5): I love duck and the way this was prepared was similar to Peking duck where the skin is extremely crispy and separated from the meat, the sauce was great and compliments that duck As for sushi, the restaurant did not have any fatty tuna (chutoro, otoro) or salmon belly, which was a bit disappointing. The server mentioned that it was due to their popularity on Valentine's Day. However, the items I really wanted were available. We ordered different pieces of nigiris: foie gras (5/5), Japanese uni (5/5), scallop with Japanese uni (5/5), ikura (4/5), akami (4/5), and hamachi (4/5). The cuts were reasonable sizes, reasonable amount of rice for each piece of nigiri, and the fish tasted fresh. Throughout the night, we ordered rounds of tequila shots, which came out quickly. I would visit Kuu Restaurant another again another time when I visit Houston, maybe for a nice date. There is valet parking, the valet guy is lowkey rude though.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Nice spot, good food, service and little slow but we showed 15 before close on a Sunday so.....

Tianyao W.

Yelp
The food cannot be better. Had a great time with my friends together, even four dishes I ordered was out at that night. I cannot see any other Sushi alternatives of Kuu in Memorial area.

Jim B.

Yelp
I thought I had reviewed this but maybe not. This is my go to place for great sushi when I don't care about the bill. Clients are told to take me here and when I just want a good night out and price is tertiary this is it. The oma something menu we here they just bring u stuff is the way to go but alacarte if u are not so hungry is great. Always specials and simply everything is fresh, great and creative. Cold yellowtail hamachi and warm black miso cod are essential, wine list though small is good, cocktails nice and chase it all with yamazaki Service great, ambience great.

Bryan V.

Yelp
I came here for Mother's Day and loved the elegant decor of the place. Our waitress was eager to recommend us the best dishes on the menu. We tried a variety of crudo dishes and nigiri. I thought it was cool how they import their fish from fish markets in Japan. The quality of the nigiri was good and I enjoyed the large size of the seared scallops. This place is pretty pricey but I guess you pay for the luxury experience!

Reshonda S.

Yelp
Great experience here and the beef dumplings were delicious (can't think of the actual name on the menu)! We arrived about 1 hour before closing and still received the most amazing service. The violinist was leaving but stayed to play one more song for us. Our waiter went out of his way to help us understand the menu and select an option. No one rushed us to leave and allowed us to eat and enjoy our experience in peace. Additionally, I was in a party of 10, and no one waited too long for their food and everyone enjoyed their dish. Short experience, but we truly appreciated the employees and their service. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! Thank you for your kindness and attention to detail to make this a great dining experience for your guests.

Huyen C.

Yelp
First time at Kuu Restaurant. We were able to easily get a reservation on a Saturday night via Open Table. Our waitress was awesome, kind & really funny. She gave great suggestions for food & was attentive to our group. The price is on the higher end of sushi restaurants, but the sushi did not disappoint. They had just flown in fish, and everything was absolutely fresh & good. My husband got a lot of nigari. His favorites were Chutoro & Shima Aji. I personally liked the Seared A5 (japanese A5 waygu). I got the Rin Makimono Roll without avocado and really enjoyed it. As a table, we got Shishito Peppers and they were very good. The Yakibuta (sous vide pork belly) was amazing. The butter squash puree and pomegranate pieces were a perfect touch to the protein. For dessert, we got the Ube Souffle and man o man!! So delish. Takes 30 minutes to prepare, and came out super hot. You are suppose to pour the coconut cream, take some purple yam souffle and dip in ube candy (salt). The ube fries were a nice touch to eat at the end. Definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Chris R.

Yelp
My new favorite mid priced sushi spot in Houston! The truffle rolls here are incredible, the ambiance here makes it feel like a five star restaurant, and the customer service was impeccable. They also had a seafood miso soup which was really unique and packed a ton of flavor. On the weekends they even have a violinist which really added to the relaxing atmosphere in the room.

A And B G.

Yelp
We love the Suzuki truffle roll. The violin music is fun as well. We had one of our first dates here it will always be a place of remembrance. The staff is always super kind.

Eric J.

Yelp
I'm giving Kuu a 3 star mainly for portion size vs price, a little bit for service. I like to ask questions and understand what the unique offerings may be of a certain establishment, which was a bit of a challenge. Probably would've been a two star if not for the unique+fresh offerings that claim to be Next Day Air from Japan. I would place Kuu in the after work snack n' social category, not for a meal personally. Pros: Very fresh offerings Unique offerings Cons: VERY small portions Price Service

Yelp
We went here for our two year dating anniversary and I completely fell in love. I told my husband I wanted to have an omakase experience with him and so we did it on our anniversary and Valentine's Day weekend. Omakase, for those that are unfamiliar is a series of food prepared by the chef. Literal translation means "I leave it up to you." At Kuu, their omakase consisted of 7 course meals. Every single thing that they have bought out was delightful, interesting, and completely delicious. Oh my. I fell in love with every bite. Obviously, it was so good we ordered more afterwards! My favorite for the night had to be the amberjack sushi . My husbands favorite was any sushi with the yuzu kosho (he loves flavor). Feeling spontaneous? Come here for a try if you love sushi! The server we had (Jennifer) was amazing and knows her sushi's well. Atmosphere was on point and they even have a live violinist playing! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Good Japanese/Sushi restaurant near the Westin. Dropped in here for dinner while on a business trip. Good selection of dishes, including many which could be considered fusion. 4 star over all for concept, 5 star for Jay's service and mix of 3 and 4 star for execution. I live in Seattle, so have high expectations for Sushi Here's the details. Clam miso soup. 3 star. Tasted like basic miso soup with 3 clams dropped in. Was expecting a more "clammy" taste. Guess they did not use clams when they made their broth. Grilled waygu beef salad. 4 star. Excellent, as I would expect for bringing Texas. Truffled Hamachi and Tuna Roll. 3 star. They gave it some special name on the menu which I can't remember. I love Hachi and love the aroma of truffle, so wanted to try. Good concept but fell down on execution. Hamachi and Tuna were ok, but not the freshest; in fact the hamachi was a little mushy. As for the truffle, taste or aroma, there is zero. Very disappointed there just tasted like plane plane ponzu sauce. Black cod (could have been Chilean sea bass cannot remember). 3 star. Grilled fish on top of cauliflower puree with some asparagus. Another good concept but poor execution. Fish was cooked perfect but served lukewarm and the cauliflower parade and asparagus were downright refrigerator cold. Maybe this is okay for some people but you should not be mixing very cold and then warm ingredients on the same dish; very jarring to the pallette. Actually was going to give this two stars except that the fish tasted so good. Rice pudding. 1 star. Description sounded good, and they had all the correct flavorings in there for rice pudding but This was a case of failed execution. The rice was way overcooked so they had this bowl of hard gelatinous rice mush, flavored like rice pudding. Worse you have to put a belay on top which again is warm but the underlying rice was cold right from the refrigerator. At minimum that should have been at room temperature. This was a failure dessert I was expecting something soft and delicate like a chawamushi or a pannacotta but with sweet rice in it, and of course cinnamon and brown sugar flavoring

Yelp
The atmosphere is very nice, service was excellent, and the food was great. I don't think there's too much more you can ask for at any establishment we tried several different rolls, and we were happy with each one of them. Good friends, great atmosphere, equals, a great evening.

Yelp
My all time favorite spot. I'll never ever stop coming here. And that new brunch menu is amazing and so affordable

Yelp
Don't hold back and embrace the sushi! I first tasted chef Addison Lee's creation at. Dinner Lab years ago but never given myself a chance to try out his restaurant. I'm glad we did today and it was great. Ordered mostly cold dishes. They were all pretty good minus the tako ceviches oily chip.... Minor compared to the magnificent fusion. Happy they had fresh wasabi and thought it made a big difference. I'd like to come back and try out more cold dishes and sashimi.

Yelp
Pretty good restaurant, sushi is top notch. Kitchen items were above average. Phi (our server) was very friendly, knowledgeable and personable. I think Trang was our other server but she was mainly at the bar. The violinist was amazing too!

Yelp
I want to hear a while back. The food was amazing. The sushi was so fresh, service was just as good as you would expect from a fine dining sushi restaurant, and the ambience was great. The music set a very good vibe. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
