The Best Restaurants and Bars in Reno, Nevada | Eater Vegas

"Mark Estee, probably the closest thing Reno has to its own celebrity chef, originally opened Liberty Food & Wine Exchange as a butchery, market, and sandwich shop before it evolved into a full-fledged restaurant. Meats are still carved up in-house — in the basement to be specific — and sourced locally from a Minden ranch. The menu also takes pride in using produce from nearby farms and a wood-fired oven that’s equally adaptable for pizzas, seafood, and vegetables. Yet for all the attention to detail, Liberty doesn’t take itself too seriously. Black-and-white photos of ’80s celebrities decorate the main dining room and the loose, casual atmosphere suits the location, just steps away from the scenic Riverwalk in downtown Reno." - Rob Kachelriess

Great meal. Good service and great atmosphere. I love the old school pictures on the wall. We had the octopus, the gnocchi, the salmon, and a tomato salad. All properly executed and seasoned. The pizza looked amazing. We didn’t try it. I will be back.

Google
The pizza dough is very light with its crispy crusts. The tomato sauce is flavorful with other toppings on top. The regular pepperoni pizza was super delicious with the pull cheese and crispy small pepperoni slices. The waitress always check on my table making sure we’re doing good. Gotta have their seafood black pasta! It’s creamy and delicious!

Had a fantastic celebration dinner here! We made a resy in advance and had an incredible experience. The pizzas were so tasty and very large - the pasta was so flavorful as well. I highly recommend the focaccia app and pizzas as well! Cheers!

Solid dining experience. The pork platter was serious business! Lots of food and rich flavors all around. A bit spendy, but a great option for the occasional dinner out. Plus nice views of the Truckee River at the nearby river walk.

Google
Solid brunch spot but not exceptional. I liked the carbonara pizza but was a bit disappointed by the chicken and waffles (too dry and not well seasoned).

Google
Amazing gnocchi! Bit of a wait for a table even with a reservation. So many options. Will be back.

April 2024: Stopped by for a team dinner and was seated in a nice private room. We had a bunch of small plates to share. My favorites were the octopus 🐙, the margarita pizza 🍕 and the meatballs. For my entree, I tried the salmon off the special menu which was served with some bok choy over a bed of jasmine rice. It was very tasty 😋. Service was good. Overall, was very pleased with the dining experience and would come back again.

If I could give this place 6/5 stars, I would. The food was absolutely scrumptious. The bread and olive oil/ balsamic combo that was brought to the table was delicious. My party decided to order appetizers before our meal. We got the warm beet salad, fondue, and the citrus olives. I would recommend all of these options. For dinner, I shared a Peach Pie pizza and a Garden Veggie pizza with my mom. We enjoyed both. If you don't like a lot of arugula, tell them to leave it off. It came with a lot, which is not a bad thing, I just wanted to make a note of it. My dad got the bison ribs and said they were delicious. They come with brussel sprouts, and those were wonderful as well. I was so enticed by the pizza that I forgot to take a picture, but I have included pics of the appetizers below. I got a Cereal Milk Créme Brûlée for desert. It was very yummy. I will try the cast iron chocolate cake next time.

Yelp
We came a few days ago for Fritzie W.'s birthday and despite having enjoyed my last few visits, this one sort of marks the beginning of what may be a slump. There's a lot of things happening the world where sometimes quantity and portions suffer in order to preserve the experience for every patron. It's in these times you hope to get what you pay for however, and pay for what you get in servings. While the food was absolutely flavorful, the portion sizes did decrease some. Their delicious Wood Roasted Beets for example with Honey-thyme goat cheese, pistachio-oat streusel had gone to a portion size fit for child --maybe around 4-6 tablespoons. That's if kids were to actually eat beets. This evening I'd have their 8oz Sirloin topped with red chimichurri for maybe the second time. It was served with a small portion of season vegetables and a order of their herbed truffle fries. Their service regardless never misses a beat though (no pun intended). Fast, hospitable and attentive to our needs. Our server Michael was kind and welcoming. The serving of vegetables and fries in my meal however were as one may describe as boutique. Small to scale in terms of what one expects an entree/dinner size portion to be. Fritzie, whose go to is their Black spaghetti was visibility disappointed not having a serving size that was enough to take some home per her prior visits. Liberty is a place you'll have to expect that at certain times of week is bustling with customers, creating for a typical active restaurant ambiance. It's good to know their service hasn't suffered as much. I'm sure however it's challenging some days. You have to take it as it comes. I hope Liberty bounces back and can make their dining experience one folks can truly enjoy again all around or if this is the new normal, reflect it somehow in pricing, Happy Hour specials or maybe new menu items that'll give them an even better selection of entre's.

Yelp
I love this place for their black spaghetti with a perfect balance of seafood and garlicky lemon squid ink pasta. However I've noticed from the last two visits that the portions seem to get smaller each time. I loved when they served the beets salad in a cast iron skillet that kept them warm and a nice presentation with a larger portion size. . A bit sad I have to lower the usual stars I give this place . Came for my birthday and I'm pretty sure my husband mentioned this to the staff. Ordered the caramel budino which was good but a bit on the sweet side . I didn't get a bday candle and was a bit bummed about it. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon based on this visit . Our server Michael was super nice though!

Yelp
So glad to see Liberty has added some new items to the menu! The pull-apart garlic cheese bread was a definite hit--everyone loved it. Unfortunately, the Pappardelle Bolognese was a bit too heavy on the garlic; even the garlic lovers at our table agreed it was overpowering. The chicken entrée came in a better portion than on our last visit, but it was lacking in flavor. On a positive note, we continue to enjoy the salads and the overall vibe of the place! The main dishes were just okay this time, though our adult kids really liked their pizzas. Next time, we're thinking of stopping in for drinks, appetizers, and those great salads!

Yelp
I wanted to love Liberty Food & Wine Exchange, I truly did. Unfortunately, the experience left me utterly unable to. The Old Skool Gnocchi looked and smelled delicious but the same can't be said for the taste -- while the cream sauce was tasty, the gnocchi tasted very floury which, according to Google, is an indication that an excess of flour was used and/or that the potatoes were improperly cooked. The Heirloom Tomato Salad, which I added a side of Burrata to, was better overall but could've used some more flavor. A bit of salt would've done wonders! I'm sad to say that, overall, I'm not impressed.

Yelp
This place was so cute & my parents and I had the best experience. The natural light & layout of the place is perfect, and our waitress was super helpful when answering all of our questions about the menu. I ordered the kale salad (split between 3 people) & the duck pasta which was very flavorful. My dad ordered the truffle gnocchi and it had a nice rich cream sauce. I also had a homemade lemonade which was fabulous. We went back a second time a few days later & ordered the prosciutto pizza with lemon slices (amazing!!) and another kale salad, yes it's that good! I highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
I can't believe this is my first review of Liberty Food & Wine Exchange. This is one of the better restaurants in Reno both in quality and diversity of their menu. Every time I've dined here I've left satisfied and fulfilled. For my most recent visit I went for a Sunday night dinner with the Mrs. before a concert. It was busy but not overly crowded, and we grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and friendly throughout the dinner, offering recommendations and answering my questions about the wall art, beer selection, and what mixed drinks he was making. We started with some draft beers and the Octopus Appetizer, which was delicious. We shared a salad and the Margherita pizza which was the perfect combination and completion to a nice full meal and dining experience. The wood fired pizzas are always a hit, and the salad was fresh and delicious, I'd recommend everything we ordered. I already can't wait to go back again, great dining experience and quality food, everything you can ask for on a night out!

Always great food and service! Always bring family when they come to town! Thank you!

Yelp
Pasta dishes can are so delectable and comforting when prepared properly. I ordered the Bucatini Amatriciana - Guanciale (pork cheeks), red onion, chili flake, crushed tomato, fresh herbs, with a good sprinkle of pecorino. This is is the perfect dish, yes perfect dish, for these cold winter days. It is a very well balanced hearty dish, spicy, that made me think of when I will be back for more. I paired my meal with hearty glasses of an Italian dry red blend. This is a very popular restaurant and reservatipns are definitely recommended. Service can be sketchy because staff is overwhelmed. Personally, my biggest peeve is the noise level. It is extremely noisy, but it is worth going back. I love their credo: The Exchange We exchange conversation. We exchange bites. We exchange food and wine knowledge. We exchange empty wine bottles for full ones. We exchange personalities, perspectives and stories. We believe the dinner table is where the exchange happens, where synergy builds and where we create unforgettable "fork and knife moments."

Yelp
It was a Sunday and Downtown Reno looked desolate. We stumbled upon this place and decided to try it. Service was great, chocolate cake was delicious. Bee sting pizza was good. I like the sweet and salty flavors. It was a cross between an Italian bistro and sports bar. Service was good, water glasses could have been filled up. Or at least a pitcher on the table could have been given so the wait staff didn't need to come over as frequently. Restrooms were clean.

Yelp
We made a reservation and went to Liberty Food and Wine Exchange after trying to get in on a few occasions without a reservation. The place appears to always be busy at dinner! The restaurant is bright and open, with a nice mix of modern and classic decor. The tables are nicely placed, offering plenty of space. My only complaint (which is more of my thing) is that a large television is hanging on the wall in the front dining area...I find that a bit distracting for a nicer restaurant. The service was good, but the server seemed a bit stretched thin, given he was tending the bar and taking orders. The food was delicious and fresh. The menu was not overly extensive but did offer a nice variety for different interests and tastes. We ordered the fondu, a cheesy delight paired with a warm pretzel twist and fresh apple slices. The steak was nicely cooked, flavorful, and tender, and the pasta bolognese was fantastic, fresh, and flavorful. Would definitely return.

Yelp
This spot has really gone downhill recently. I used to love the squid ink pasta with clams, scallops, and shrimp but ended up with many mouthfuls of sand when I went this weekend. Please actually clean your seafood before cooking. We were excited to try the octopus, but it ended up being very overcooked. Not tender at all. Only redeeming part about our dinner was the caramel budino: loved the caramel and cookie crumb combo. To be fair the taste of the octopus and pasta were good apart from the unwelcome textures. You can tell the pasta is made in house. I've been here many times for brunch and it's decent. But given this recent experience, not sure if we'd be back for dinner anytime soon.

Yelp
Wonderful time here after a 5 mile walk along the river. Pizza and beer hit the spot!

Yelp
YUM! Date night brought us here, and we had the pappardelle and the gnocchi for a balance of rich and savory. Both were delicious, but completely opposite! Fast service, some fun mocktails on the menu, and a great selection of tap beers as well. The only bummer was we got sat right by the door and it was COLD every time it opened--maybe avoid that table if you can but get ready for a great meal!

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while which is a mistake because I forgot just how good their food was. This is quickly becoming a favorite again for their unique dishes and because they are one of the few restaurants in Reno that has cheese fondue. Their place is set up where there are some more intimate areas and some areas for larger parties. But they also have a nice bar area with several TVs. I don't believe they have their own parking spot, but that is easily resolved by the parking garage that is across the street. Parking here is technically not free, but the restaurant can validate the ticket to make it free. We had the pork platter which we shared between two and consisted of: ribs, chorizo, two slices of garlic bread, mortadella, salad and pork belly. I may not be good at recognizing the differences between the meats, but all I know is that everything was delicious. The mortadella is similar to salami, but seemed to have the thicker texture of ham. The hot honey and applesauce? on the meats was a nice touch to keep everything from becoming overwhelming. They have equally interesting dishes such as black spaghetti on the menu, which leads me to want to return to try out the rest.

Yelp
I was exploring downtown and stopped by the Patagonia Oultet ( a Must). I wanted something fresh and authentic and boy did this hit the spot. I enjoyed the Kale Salad- so flavorful and the Parmesan crisps gave it the perfect crunch. The Arrabbiata was fresh with a little Sicilian kick. A great list of wines and food items - from flatbread , pizza , weekend specials and wood fires entrees. The Caramel Budino was so worth it !! Outstanding and a must next time you're in Reno. Ask for Cody - what a great server !

Yelp
My sister and I were visiting Reno and wanted to grab some dinner before our event. Liberty exceeded our expectations! Food, environment, and customer service were all exceptional. Bee Sting (pizza) - simple ingredients on top of a thin crust pizza. This was so good! It was sweet, spicy, and savory! The pizza was light and crispy but filling at the same time. All the ingredients felt quite simple but yet the pizza was packed with flavor. Highly recommend! Black Spaghetti (pasta) - garlicky goodness. There was a generous amount of perfectly cooked seafood. Clams were juicy and plump. Shrimps were meaty and bouncy. Scallops were sweet. The spaghetti was cooked al dente. Simple Green Salad - standard salad but great if you need to add some veggies to your meal. Overall, love this place and would definitely come back again next time I'm visiting Reno!

Yelp
Been here for brunch and happy hour recently. Brunch is okay but the options are somewhat underwhelming. I came in because the chicken and waffles sounded amazing but my friends got it so I decided against ordering that and going for what I love, which is shakshuka. Great meal but when trying the chicken and waffles, it was definitely a let down. Glad I went with what I chose. There is a Starter here that I really love because it's delicious and good for the body called the Wood Roasted Beets. I know, "beets tastes like dirt" but these do not. These taste heavenly, especially paired with goat cheese. Yum! The happy hour here is unheard of prices and what a happy hour should be. Monday - Friday 4-6pm. A $14 bee sting pizza is my weakness. Also, draft beer, well drinks and house wine for $5?! Sign. Me. Up! The bartender, Michael, is phenomenal and goes above and beyond in service and is very personable. Just another reason to come back. Which, I know I will be. Ciao for now!

Yelp
Amazing food, service, and ambiance!! Love taking friends from out of town here and it's the perfect location! Weekend brunch is a must. Not to mention the happy hour is KILLER!! 4-6 weekdays only Love love LOVE liberty.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Reno. The food is so good and the menu has a good variety of unique dishes across different cuisines, such as pizza, pasta, and meat entree dishes. My previous review still holds true in all aspects. You can easily make a reservation online (often times same day reservations are available). Parking is easy as the lot is across the street and parking is validated by the restaurant. Only complaint this time around was the amount of times we were asked if we wanted a drink. We went with waters, but I was offered a cocktail menu and asked by the waiter at every visit to the table if I'd changed my mind on drinks. I'm not exaggerating, I think we were asked at least 4-5 times. It felt like we were being pressured. Other than that, the food was great. We got the Burrata appetizer and two pizzas: the carbonara pizza and the bee sting. The carbonara pizza is by far our favorite! Seems like the Burrata appetizer has changed a bit since I last ordered it, but still good. We ended with a delicious cast iron chocolate lava cake. It was the perfect size for an after dinner treat. Yum!

Yelp
Had a mini vacation with the wife and stopped by Reno. I had been craving a good woodfired thin crust pizza and after browsing Yelp found Liberty and bruh.....so happy that I did. Or should I say my wife did. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices...maybe it's because I'm used to stupid CA prices but everything was reasonable, even at full menu price. We didn't know it was happy hour, but this allowed us to try a couple things that I wouldn't have otherwise. The Happy Hour meatballs come with 4 meatballs....more than enough for 2 people. I was surprised by the size for only $6. The marinara appeared to be scratch made and not from a jar. The Cesar had real cheese, not those plastic parmesean sticks you normally see.....and an actual anchovy! I wish they would have chopped it up and mixed it in, but I digress. I get it some people might be like "EWWWWWW CESAR THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MADE AND SERVED?! I WOULD NEVER!" Anyway, the wife got the gnocchi with her pre-fixe option. It was creamy and filling. Very filling. A good sizeable portion. She selected the Budino for dessert, which is pudding. Had ore crumble to add texture and caramel for some additional sweetness. Would recommend. I had the pizza l and it was probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a VERY long time. The bee sting is actually spicy and definitely a winner if you're into it. Topped with Serrano, not weak jalapeños, puts it on another tier. The honey adds a nice sweetness that balances it out. Service was very good and attentive. The parking at the garage across the street is validated for 2 hours. I would come out of my way again to dine here....wife agrees next time we stay in Tahoe we would drive out just to eat here.

Yelp
Came to meet friends for a happy hour dinner and it was a great night at Liberty. They have a great happy hour menu as well as a prix fixe menu for a variety of choices. I ordered from that menu and chose the kale salad, spaghetti and meatballs and the budino for dessert. My hubby ordered the carbonara pizza off of the regular menu. Our friends also ordered off of the prix fixe menu. Every part of our dinner was delicious and perfect as we had remembered from lots of previous visits. Certain drinks were happy hour prices! Service was wonderful from Regan. She's delightful and enhanced our evening. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had two team dinners here for large groups, and I was pleased with the great service. For larger parties, they offered a limited menu, which was a bit disappointing, but everything else went well. They have an excellent selection of wine and tasty sharable appetizers. The burrata is a must-try; we couldn't get enough of it! The charcuterie tray and the cauliflower were my next favorites. For the main dish, I tried the black spaghetti for the first time, and it was decent. I loved the old school gnocchi that I tried the second time--it was fantastic!

Yelp
Walked in on a Thursday around 6pm. The place was busy but they had some seats available. There was also a bar area to sit at. We were seated at a freshly cleaned table. So fresh that there was still water on it... For drinks I had the Winter Bliss and water. The water came in a glass that was refilled by our waitress throughout the night. The Winter Bliss was a non alcoholic drink that tasted like cranberry juice and lime. It was disappointing because it came in a small glass and was mostly ice. $12 for ice. I could understand if there were alcohol in it but it was non alcoholic. For food we ordered the Bee Sting and Three Little Pigs pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. They were both personal size and around $19 each. The toppings on both were extremely flavorful and fresh. The crust was light and soft. The Bee Sting had some kick to it but wasn't too spicy. The meat on the Three Little Pigs was packed with tons of flavor. I believe the meat was local as well. Overall a great experience. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I would come back again to try the pasta and brunch but would skip on the drinks filled with ice.

Yelp
Liberty Food & Wine Exchange is likely the last bastion of exciting and skillfully curated eats in the once bustling area that hangs just off the river walk in Reno. A once vibrant area bespoke with food and cocktail establishments, Liberty shines defiantly now amongst a smattering of shuttered shops that now litter the area. Whether by chance or design, It's rather inconspicuous from the outside. Deviously unassuming, a menu hangs on the glass store front. You stop and read it. At this point I realize Liberty is akin to an anglerfish. It's menu an analog for the glowing lure that tops the anglerfishes head. I read the menu. I'm mesmerized. It's Game Over, I'm hooked. Unlike the anglerfishes unfortunate prey, however, you'll be rewarded for taking this bait. The menu is so full of desirable dishes anxiety may well set in as you weigh your culinary options. Here's where I ultimately landed. PORK PLATTER {Comes with the following: PORK BELLY with Calabrian hot honey SMOKED RIBS with Carolina BBQ sauce BASQUE CHORIZO with Red wine, paprika, garlic MORTADELLA with Mustard and pickles PORCHETTA Belly wrapped loin with chimichurri} This thing is Porcine Perfection! Perfect for sharing and wondrous in its variety. The Chorizo is especially problematic as it may well prevent you from being able to enjoy any other. As you enjoy this piggy platter you're likely to work up a bit of a thirst and I'm glad to say the drink menu is just as inspired as the food menu. My pick to pair with pig? GOLDEN BELLS (Rye, Lemon Juice, Honey-fig Simple, Angostura Bitters) I visit Reno a handful of times during the year and lately it seemed like this area was in decline, it's exciting find a place like this and I'm looking forward to diving deeper into their menu!

Yelp
Once again the food does not disappoint! Such yummy and fresh tasting items! One minor thing, i asked if the mango margaritas can be made without the jalapeno which she said yes. However, when it came i could still tasted of jalapeno and it had a some heat. I asked in which she said it was pre batched she just told them not to add extra. I was able to drink it, but a little concerning as it could have been an allergy vs. just a dislike for the flavor. I wish she would have been upfront to begin with saying there still may be some flavor due to being prebatched.

Yelp
What a great experience... stumbled upon this gem when walking around d downtown the day before Mother's Day last weekend. We were seated with a slight sense of exasperation without a reservation, even though there were tons of empty tables (and this was my only complaint)... but once seated our server was super nice and very attentive. We had the burrata plate and shared the seafood pasta (called black pasta). I ordered a twist on a amaretto sour. I actually like this one more. The food was beautifully prepared and presented/ there was nothing I could have asked for differently. The actual restaurant was cute with a black and white theme and a big open window in the front dining room. Can't wait to go back and try a dessert (the tables next to us got a chocolate brownie and some other playing dessert!!) and to try some of the other exciting things they have on their menu.

Yelp
Liberty Exchange is a great happy hour and dinner spot in Downtown Reno. The happy hour menu includes a lot of appetizers, pizza, and a pasta prix fixe menu, which includes a salad, pasta, and desert for $30. I highly recommend the prix fixe because you get delicious food for a great price! Happy hour runs from 4-6 pm Monday through Friday. We took advantage of the happy hour drink specials and got two tap beers for $5 each. We also ordered the happy hour Shishito Pepper special, which came with a fantastic aioli sauce. The star of our visit was the pasta prix fixe. Between the two of us, we had the casear salad, green salad, Old Skool Gnocchi, Bolognese, affogato, and Budino. In my opinion, the Caesar salad is better than the green salad, but they are both good. The Old Skool Gnocchi is my absolute favorite dish and I will order it every single time I'm here. Both dessert options are great too! Overall, it was the perfect meal. We arrived around 4:30 pm on a Friday and it wasn't too busy, but by 5:30, it was pretty busy. I highly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit after 5.

Yelp
Liberty Food & Wine is my GO-TO spot for a nice dinner/happy hour, especially when I have family in town. I seldom have a bad meal there; on one occassion, the pretzel was over baked and sometimes the pasta selection doesn't appeal to me on a certain night. When I say bad meals are rare, I mean very rare! At minimum, you MUST get the Liberty Fondue to start and the Caramel Budino to finish the meal. You can never do wrong with either of these selections. My all time favorite dish is the butter squash agnolotti. I believe it is seasonal since I haven't seen it on the menu in a while. I've had pizza, pasta, and entrees at liberty and they've all been delicious. The service has always been great and the restaurant has a great ambiance- never too loud and there are some great photos inside. Check it out and don't forget the fondue and Budino!

Yelp
This place has the best fondue you can get! I've been going to Liberty for years just for this dish alone. Other items on the menu are just as lovely as well. A cute restaurant in downtown Reno with the front room having beautiful windows. A go to spot for all occasions!

Yelp
Liberty was so good! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! We had an amazing server who even helped us pick our drinks. The building is beautifully designed with a lot of modern and contemporary architecture!

Yelp
The food was very good. I had the the special, choose a salad, entree, and dessert for $30. I ordered the gnocchi, green salad, and the affogato. The service was okay, a little slow. I didn't really notice the decor too much.

Yelp
My friends and I came in last night, and we had a great time. I made the reservation for 10 people a few days ahead and had no issues. We ordered a wide variety from salads to pizzas to pastas. I loved the duck sugo pasta and the margarita pizza! What diminished our time was our server. She yelled at us and accused us for apparently changing seats when she came back with the drinks. She could not recall who ordered what drink and got quickly flustered. FYI we did not change seats. I had also requested the bill be split at the very beginning because we took two tables, so one table was its own bill and the other table was its own bill. We told her we understood gratuity should still be charged because we were large party and were not trying to get out of it. When we received the bills, we quickly realized she did not separate per table and we were scrambling to figure out who to Venmo and what across two bills. Lastly, we ordered two salads and never received them. The salad were never in the system as they weren't on the bills. Absolutely unfortunate. I had a great time with my friends, and the food was delicious. However, the service was subpar to say the least.

Yelp
Liberty is a top Reno restaurant for me! Always delicious, high quality, beautiful meals from locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant is large and open and has views of their kitchen which is such a fun experience. The staff is always on top of things. The food never misses! Some of my favorite items: roasted cauliflower, rotating charcuterie options, kale salad, bee sting pizza, and every single pasta. The Gnocchi is one of my favorite dishes in the city, I dream about it! Always a great spot!

Yelp
Cute, spacious diner with a vintage vibe and delicious brunch offerings. Came here for a Saturday brunch for the first time and we were not disappointed. Here's what we tried: Veggie omelette: not bad, but also nothing to write home about. Tasty, but pretty basic in terms of the ingredients. The skillet potatoes that came with it were delicious though. Pure hash: absolutely delicious and unique in the pairing of beets, cauliflower, and fennel. There's nothing like it in town. Highly recommend. The interior is also a lot more spacious than it appears from the street. This would be a great place for groups.

Yelp
I finally had the chance to attend their annual Feast of the 7 Fishes and it was magical! 7 courses packed with flavor and generous portions for $85. We added the wine pairing for $40 which comes with 4 carefully selected 3.5 oz pours. It's impossible to pick my favorite dish as they all stood out. The hamachi crudo was high quality and sea bass with pork belly just WOW! Staff go above and beyond and make the experience even better. Nice ambiance with some stellar portraits around s the place. They validate at the restaurant for the garage across the street. Or you can walk a short bit and use the city hall lot for free for evenings and weekends but check the Pioneer Center schedule as it will be full if a show is on. My first time visiting and already can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Update: what a difference a few months make. Service on a Sunday evening was lackluster. Server was obsessed with a food vlogger by the window and only checked on us a few times. We had to flag down other wait help for a promised doggie bag container and to pay the bill. A belated "have a good evening" is not going to do it. Mr Estes and staff: yes, your street cred is wonderful but don't destroy it with bad service. We'll think of our last visit before returning. Primacy and recency.

Yelp
*Singing* yummy, yummy, yummy! I can't believe it took me so long to try Liberty Food & Wine! Everything about this restaurant is my favorite. Location, ambiance, service, food & drinks. All A+. What drew me in was the Fondue appetizer, and I'm glad it did! It came with a giant soft pretzel and apples. So perfect. For our main, we ordered the pizza with pesto and mushrooms, and that was killer as well. It's all about the dough. It had the perfect balance of chewiness and crispy bits in the crust. To drink, I had some sort of blood orange Old Fashioned... well, I actually had two of them. These were so delicious, and such a brilliant variation of a classic favorite. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Chef/Owner Mark Estee recently invited celebrity chef and longtime friend Chris Cosentino, to come in and take over the specials menu at Liberty and I wasn't going to miss it because these two really know how to make great food, especially snout to tail pork! I've been a fan of Chef Estee's since his start in Reno and a fanboy of Chef Cosentino for longer than that, and adding in the fact the menu benefited No Child Hungry made this meal a no brainer. Fortunately I had a group that wanted to taste the whole menu, so that's exactly what we did. Literally every item on the specials menu came to the table and all of them were delicious. The "Hot Mess" should really be a recurring dish here. I could see it iterated a bunch and made super popular during brunch service. The most surprising dish was the steak, which looked beyond simple with a swipe of bright green broccoli rabe pesto (yes an interesting direction), some beautifully cooked beef and some roasted veggies beneath. The veggies were traviso, which is a bitter cabbage shaped vegetable related to endive, and the natural flavor of that with the added char combined with the seared beef and bitter pesto actually translated to a sweet and bitter, incredibly balanced and memorable bite of food! Seriously all of the other dishes were fantastic too, but those stood out. I loved watching Chef Daniel running his kitchen with this new menu too. It was very nice to see all the camaraderie and fun being had during this and I can't wait for the next.

Yelp
Really good food and a really good happy hour! One unique item they have in the menu that I did not expect was cheese fondue. It was pretty tasty, but my only complaint is the portion seemed a little off. Not enough cheese for how much bread you get. The cheese got too hot as well because there wasn't enough of it. The bread and cheese were both very flavorful though. We also got a pizza and it was delicious! There is also an axe throwing spot right next door. Great date spot and I do plan on going back!!

Yelp
I LOVE Liberty! I am a big fan and will always recommend this place! My to go is the Pure Hash with bacon on the side and it is always DELICIOUS. This time around I grabbed a speciality cocktail from the Easter menu and it was spicy and strong! The server was very kind and helpful. Our food did take an hour to get to us and the restraint had only a couple of tables - which was a bit frustrating but we were all chatting. The setup is great and the windows allow for lots of light! ai also love being able to see the open concept kitchen.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new and ended up at Liberty Food and Wine. I had one of their special drinks, the margarita. It wasn't anything like I thought it would be unfortunately not in a good way. It was spicy and not my favorite. I also tried their fondue which was just ok. It reminded me more of fettuccine and I didn't taste any of the white wine/was hoping for more stringy cheese. The pretzel that was served with it was delicious and it looking forward to trying their kale salad next time. Just missed the mark for me this time and at that price point I had higher expectations, I'm sorry. The service was friendly and atmosphere comfortable.

Yelp
Service was a bit slow and they weren't that busy but they were very nice! All the food that came out was superb. It was indeed expensive but everything tasted good. We got the all you can drink mimosas for $25. Worth it! Brussels sprout salad and breaky pizza. The pizza was alright for the price. We won't order it again as their menu is large and there's more bang for your buck with other items we'd love to try. The Brussels sprout salad was tasty! We also tried the beets... great! And the burratta starter.. delicious!

Yelp
Pretty awesome spot, I love the decor of different portraits and how much seating there is. Came here for dinner and had the pork platter and cacio e Pepe arancini. Everything was super delicious, wish they had some sauerkraut in the pork platter itself. Great service, yummy food.

Yelp
This place is so good at any time! But specifically come here for the chicken and waffles, best in town hands down. Service is great, Kat and Sophia are amazing and always treat us right. Restaurant is clean and welcoming, have football on during the weekends and music is good! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Back for a second time and still loved everything we ordered. Wood oven beets, octopus and the bee sting pizza.
