The Best Restaurants and Bars in Reno, Nevada | Eater Vegas

"Mark Estee, probably the closest thing Reno has to its own celebrity chef, originally opened Liberty Food & Wine Exchange as a butchery, market, and sandwich shop before it evolved into a full-fledged restaurant. Meats are still carved up in-house — in the basement to be specific — and sourced locally from a Minden ranch. The menu also takes pride in using produce from nearby farms and a wood-fired oven that’s equally adaptable for pizzas, seafood, and vegetables. Yet for all the attention to detail, Liberty doesn’t take itself too seriously. Black-and-white photos of ’80s celebrities decorate the main dining room and the loose, casual atmosphere suits the location, just steps away from the scenic Riverwalk in downtown Reno." - Rob Kachelriess

Shared a fun guy Pizza added some bee sting honey drizzle to the top. Very good crust, very airy and crispy. Wild mushrooms tasted amazing. They also bring out a side of toppings the Parmesan cheese was very good it was an overpowering or too strong. Port beer good. Mixed drink ok.

I had a wonderful birthday brunch here, I've wanted to come for a long time and was very happy. I would like to see a larger brunch menu but what they had was great. Jayme was our server and her service was phenomenal. The bacon bloodymary was fine, the rose bellini was dangerously delicious along with the mango cider. I will absolutely be back for dinner.

Google
Great meal. Good service and great atmosphere. I love the old school pictures on the wall. We had the octopus, the gnocchi, the salmon, and a tomato salad. All properly executed and seasoned. The pizza looked amazing. We didn’t try it. I will be back.

Google
The pizza dough is very light with its crispy crusts. The tomato sauce is flavorful with other toppings on top. The regular pepperoni pizza was super delicious with the pull cheese and crispy small pepperoni slices. The waitress always check on my table making sure we’re doing good. Gotta have their seafood black pasta! It’s creamy and delicious!

Had a fantastic celebration dinner here! We made a resy in advance and had an incredible experience. The pizzas were so tasty and very large - the pasta was so flavorful as well. I highly recommend the focaccia app and pizzas as well! Cheers!

Google
Free street parking. Do have to look for it since it is in riverwalk district, which seems to be a downtown area. Came at a Saturday night around 7pm-ish. Packed restaurant. Duck yeah pizza. Amazing! Dough was yummy. I ordered a $40 3 piece scallop special. I would pass on this one next time. The pickled seabean salad was a little saltier than I would have liked. We liked the black spaghetti. The first itieration was delicious but the second order, there was one less shrimp and the shrimp were not as vibrantly colored (maybe less cook time, still yummy) and less sauce was included. Not sure why there was inconsistecy. Perhaps it was later in the night? Service was super fast and our waitress checked in with us quite frequently. I may be back one day since my parents are frequent gamblers and I pop into tahoe/reno for ski tuning/mounting and other ski activities.

Google
This place is awesome. I had the mocktail and the Duck Yeah! pizza. The pizza was INSANELY good. I also enjoyed the mocktail which I believe was $13 but it was made with NA spirits which I thought was cool. The only thing I didn’t like was the location, being right on the busy street and a couple of really loud cars flew by which was startling. But I would still go back and plan to again in the near future!!

Google
Solid brunch spot but not exceptional. I liked the carbonara pizza but was a bit disappointed by the chicken and waffles (too dry and not well seasoned).

Yelp
We recently went to Liberty Food and Wine Exchange, on New Year's Eve. The menu had a wide selection to choose from. Our group of four started with drinks and Oysters on the half shell and meat plater, let me say the cold cuts were amazing some of the best. We order the seafood special Lobster poached in butter over risotto, the lobster was cooked perfect, we also order the ribeye cooked medium Rear, was a great cut of meat, gnocchi and we added chicken and it was really good and the last dish was the pork plate, and the pork belly was the star of the dish! The meal was great, the service was outstanding,,,, We finish the night with hot butterrums and the baked Nevada. Bake Nevada peppermint ice, covered with whip marshmallows bake with flame bourbon, it was delicious. We had a wonderful evening, a great way to bring in the new year! I

Yelp
We arrived about 5 mins after our reservation. Cause I had a hard time finding the place from our map app. It's at 100 Sierra and the app showed it was more on 1st and the address on 1st is also 100. So it was a bit confusing. You actually enter on Sierra. We sat down at a great table right by the windows facing Sierra. I asked about happy hour and found out that you can order HH from anywhere in the restaurant. I ordered a Manhattan and DH ordered an hot buttered rum. My Manhattan was excellent and they use the yummy luxardo cherries. DH said his drink was just ok. Nothing to write home about!! Then we ordered from the HH menu a couple of things. The fondue was fantastic!! Served with a large pretzel and apples. It was probably one of the top 5 fondues I've ever had!! We also ordered a margarita pizza. The crust was delish, chewy with a nice crisp. Then we ordered. I got the old skool gnocchi and DH got the bolognese. Both were excellent!! I loved the mushrooms in the gnocchi. Our server offered to add a protein but I really didn't need it. For dessert we ordered the cheese cake. Excellent service and food. You really can't beat their happy hour. Prices are great and the food is excellent!! We will be back!!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place and considered eating there more than once while we were visiting in town. We ordered the fondue, the warm olives and the bee sting pizza during happy hour. I was very impressed with the size of the happy hour portions. It was hot and delicious. The pretzel that came with the fondue was incredible. I've never had warm olives before, but I'm so glad I did!!! I really want more. And the bee sting pizza was perfect. I loved everything about the place; The wait staff was friendly and prompt, the vibe was warm and inviting and people were having a wonderful time. I hope to return again!

Yelp
I really used to like this place and I hate writing negative reviews but sometimes it just has to be said. Yes, it was a busy Saturday night at Christmas time. However, service was exceptionally slow and our waitress seemed to just be scattered and unbothered. Duck confit pasta. I discovered a fat bone. Really disappointing dish. I brought a friend who's new in town and I hyped this place up only to be disappointed. She said her dish was good though.

Yelp
Super fun place for a girl's date night, definitely make a reservation because it's popular even on week nights! The drinks are fantastic, I had a margarita and espresso martini and they were both so delicious, about $15 each. I ordered the nightly special pizza that had burrata, prosciutto, thin lemon slices and balsamic glaze, it was INCREDIBLE! So much flavor and it was really well balanced. Their side caesar salad is a nice size and the dressing is great! Can't to come back here with the girls or for date night.

Yelp
I certainly feel at home at Liberty Food and Wine Exchange, especially since we returned to the bar area for Happy Hour and have our favorite bartender / waiter, Michael R. Whenever a waiter remembers you and can recall what you ordered the last time you were there, it makes you feel special. The menu at Happy Hour is quite impressive. The food is delicious with Large quantities. There are many discounts on beers, wines and mixed drinks, too. The restaurant is comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. There is a banquet area with the ability for large parties. Parking can be validated and there is a parking garage across the street. I will check my calendar for the next opportunity to go to Liberty!

Yelp
Cassandra was our server and she did a wonderful job! Our food was fantastic! She recommended the gnocchi and it just melted in my mouth with flavor! The cheesecake was by far one of the best I've ever had!

Yelp
Pro's: Varied menu, good combination of apps, pizza and mains. Con's: Can be loud, but it wasn't this time...went early. Go back?: Absolutley More... I have dreamt of going to Italy just to EAT Italy. I dreamt of a pile of fresh and tender prosciutto. Well, I don't have to go to Italy anymore! Order the burrata appetizer and you will get a PILE of prosciutto, fresh burrata and "pizza puffs" to eat it with. These are like the bubbles that form on pizza crusts, but they have harnessed them to be a vessel for the proscioutto, roasted tomatoes and burrata on the plate. Also don't miss the fondue! I have never had pretzel bread that did not tear up the roof of my mouth. This fondue was so decadently wonderful...will be back for that, too. And the roasted cauliflower was so good, I didn't mind eating cauliflower! We also had the two tequila drinks to start...both were delicious.

Yelp
Since the Feast of the Fishes has started we have always gone every year at Lupo as part of our Christmas celebration but this year we decided to do BOTH Lupo and Liberty. It was nice to experience the differences between the two but I have to say the kitchen at Liberty let me down with this meal. The restaurant was clean, bright, and open as usual. The restaurant was festively decorated. The server was new but was bubbly and did her very best (despite the kitchen) to make this visit my very best. When we made our reservations we made the note that I am allergic to onions. When we arrived we made the server aware who went to the kitchen to verbally tell them. When she put our order in, she showed me that she put a note on our ticket that I was allergic to onions too. Before our 1st course came out she told us the kitchen told her that only 1 dish had onions and they would leave them off...spoiler-they lied! Of the 7 courses I couldn't eat 2 because they put onions ON TOP not in but on top so it was very easy for them to leave it off. Course 1-Spanish Tinned Fish: delicious and paired beautifully. The bread it was served with was perfect! I wish the butter or fish was served slightly warm since everything except the bread had the same texture and temperature a 2nd warm item would add that elevated element the dish needed to bring it to the next level Course 2-Seafood Bisque: TO DIE FOR!! This was more of a seafood broth than a bisque, but it was the winner of 2025 hands down! It was rich in flavor and yet so light. Perfection in a bowl! Course 3-Crispy Shrimp "scampi": a bit heavy on the breading but yummy and served with a beautiful dipping sauce Course 4-Scallop Crudo: these needed acid of some sort (these had pickled shallots on top-the manager brought this to the table and said "no onions Miss" and put the one with pickled shallots in front of me and no shallots in front of my husband ‍we just swapped plates Course 5-Lobster Radiatore: This was brought out with onions mixed in my husband's and onions not only mixed in mine but TONS of onions thrown directly on top. From the small taste I was able to have that didn't seem to be sauced or any where near the onions (and confirmed by my husband) the lobster was extremely overcooked and the sauce was very spicy Course 6-Crab Claw Cocktail: delicious and served with the best cocktail sauce! Loved the sauce! Course 7- Wood Fired Branzino: this was another one I didn't get to eat and I was excited for this one. The charred winter greens that were on top of the cannellinis and directly below the fish had onions in them and was not left off my plate. My husband said it was delicious but the arancini was dry. I am super disappointed that the server tried so hard to prevent onions from making to my mouth plate and making this a wonderful experience yet the kitchen was very well aware that they had a table with allergies and didn't care one bit about preventing a medical emergency. We have always been a big fan of Estee and his restaurants, I think it will be a bit a bit before we come back thanks to the lack of care and consideration from the kitchen

Yelp
The atmosphere at this place is genuinely upbeat, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves when we arrived about an hour before closing, and the restaurant was buzzing with energy. Despite a lively crowd, there were still plenty of open seats, which was a pleasant surprise. We were able to get a table within 10 minutes. As we were seated, I took the opportunity to glance around at what other diners were enjoying, this always helps in making a solid choice! The plates all looked mouth-watering, so expectations were high. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, quickly bringing water, fresh focaccia bread, and olive oil with vinegar to the table. He happily answered questions, so I asked what the gentleman in front of us was having. It turned out to be the pork platter: a generous serving of sausage, pork belly, and ribs, each paired with different mustards. That made our decision easy. To start, we ordered the Burrata with fresh peach, fresh basil shiffonade on top and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, which was a refreshing and decadent appetizer. We also ordered the pork platter along with their homemade Arrabbiata, a bold and spicy tomato sauce that perfectly complemented the richness of the pork. Portions were great and it was all delicious! This is def one of our favorites places to visit when out on a late night on a Saturday. Next time I'm making a point to try a few cocktails. I saw some pretty fancy ones coming out from the their well stocked bar.

Yelp
This place is so charming! Love the decor love the atmosphere. It got a little bit loud, but it was fun and lively. The food was amazing! The server was really nice that the food was really the stand out!

Yelp
the food was really good, the server was excellent, the music is enjoyable. what's not to love. bring friends, enjoy. had the fondue and margarita pizza for an appetiser. the Bolognese and gnocchi for dinner. we were too full for any desert.

Yelp
I honestly don't know what is taking me so long to write this review. Let me just say, I love this place. The decor is very modern and aesthetic and the service was great. My server was friendly and patient and answered all the questions I had whether it was about the food or the drinks they serve. The food was delicious. For appetizer, the burrata plate with fresh from the oven bread was a good starter. The bee sting pizza is one of my favorite pizza from Liberty. Also tried the arrabbiata pasta which was both savory and a little spicy in one dish.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while but am not really in the habit of eating in downtown Reno anymore. Talked my mom into trying it finally. We parked across the street on Sierra in the big parking garage (Liberty validated two hours of parking). We were there just after they opened so had our choice of seats. We picked a small table up front. The decor is very fun, hip with some retro touches. Lots of art. Our server Eva was outstanding. She started us with drinks while we decided what we wanted to share. There are a lot of nice choices on the happy hour menu. We wound up each starting with a small Caesar salad, then got 2 small orders of meatballs, the Basque Shrimp, and the Wood Fired beets. It's hard to pick a favorite! The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had, perfectly dressed with lots of cheese and one little anchovy on top. The Basque Shrimp were packed with flavor and lots of little chorizo discs. The Beets were warm with smeared goat cheese, such and unusual preparation. And finally the meatballs were also tasty, but we gave up and brought a couple home. For dessert we shared a Budino and I had a great Americano. It was such a great evening and I was so surprised by how good the food was. The flavors were so complex. We've been to the three other places in this restaurant family but this was by far the best. Hope we get to go again soon.

Yelp
Things started off a little rough as our reservation was lost and we thought we were going to be without a Christmas party place. However they came through and put us at the end of the bar we were ok with that. We went to have the feast of the seven fishes and we decided to have the wine parring with it. Started with Spanish tinned fish. It was sardines with roasted tomatoe butter and confit garlic served with little pita bread. We had prosecco with this dish very nice!! Seafood bisque and prosecco was the second round. The bisque was lite with clams and icky bread crostini, outstanding!! On to some crispy shrimp scampi. Not at all what we would have thought but very tasty little shrimps deep fried with roasted garlic aioli. Yummy!! The next one sounded amazing and tasted really good. Scallop crudo. This was basically sushi with some lovely flavors including blood orange, pistachio, fennel pollen, pickled shallots, and micro basil. Never had anything like this but it was amazing. We learned while eating that they only used day scallops (meaning they are caught and delivered daily) Next we had some lobster radiatore super good vodka sauce with nice chunks of lobster. The crab claw cocktail was delicious and beautiful. Little crab claws standing in ice ready to eat with cocktail sauce and garlic butter sauce. Oh my!! Last was a nice piece of branzino with some cannellini ragu crab arancini and charred winter greens fabulous!! The atmosphere worked well with the meal that we had and it was a fantastic Christmas party place!! We will be back to try the many unique dishes that we saw on the menu!! Thank you to our fabulous bartender and server.. Sorry we failed to take pictures next time for sure!

Yelp
We came a few days ago for Fritzie W.'s birthday and despite having enjoyed my last few visits, this one sort of marks the beginning of what may be a slump. There's a lot of things happening the world where sometimes quantity and portions suffer in order to preserve the experience for every patron. It's in these times you hope to get what you pay for however, and pay for what you get in servings. While the food was absolutely flavorful, the portion sizes did decrease some. Their delicious Wood Roasted Beets for example with Honey-thyme goat cheese, pistachio-oat streusel had gone to a portion size fit for child --maybe around 4-6 tablespoons. That's if kids were to actually eat beets. This evening I'd have their 8oz Sirloin topped with red chimichurri for maybe the second time. It was served with a small portion of season vegetables and a order of their herbed truffle fries. Their service regardless never misses a beat though (no pun intended). Fast, hospitable and attentive to our needs. Our server Michael was kind and welcoming. The serving of vegetables and fries in my meal however were as one may describe as boutique. Small to scale in terms of what one expects an entree/dinner size portion to be. Fritzie, whose go to is their Black spaghetti was visibility disappointed not having a serving size that was enough to take some home per her prior visits. Liberty is a place you'll have to expect that at certain times of week is bustling with customers, creating for a typical active restaurant ambiance. It's good to know their service hasn't suffered as much. I'm sure however it's challenging some days. You have to take it as it comes. I hope Liberty bounces back and can make their dining experience one folks can truly enjoy again all around or if this is the new normal, reflect it somehow in pricing, Happy Hour specials or maybe new menu items that'll give them an even better selection of entre's.
google avatar

Fritzie W.

Yelp
I love this place for their black spaghetti with a perfect balance of seafood and garlicky lemon squid ink pasta. However I've noticed from the last two visits that the portions seem to get smaller each time. I loved when they served the beets salad in a cast iron skillet that kept them warm and a nice presentation with a larger portion size. . A bit sad I have to lower the usual stars I give this place . Came for my birthday and I'm pretty sure my husband mentioned this to the staff. Ordered the caramel budino which was good but a bit on the sweet side . I didn't get a bday candle and was a bit bummed about it. Not sure if I'll be back anytime soon based on this visit . Our server Michael was super nice though!

Yelp
Liberty is such a "go to" place for us because their brunch menu is one of the best in town. Not only do they have a good menu, they also do a good job with Gluten Free for my buddy. If you want fresh and unique tasting food this is THE place to go. My go to orders are the Green Lantern Benny, Pure Hash and the Breakfast Tacos. There are some weekends that I just HAVE to head down there to get my fix of these and a nice bottomless mimosa. If I wasn't on a heavily restricted sodium diet I would go here much more. Those dinner dishers sound delicious! Parking is a pain in the butt for Reno, but it's nice to have a little walk after a meal to get it settled.

Yelp
Might be my new spot, quality eats and a quality price. Pork platter slapped. Apps slapped. Dessert slapped.

Yelp
Wow, wow and WOW! Liberty Food Exchange is an awesome downtown Reno restaurant. Great ambiance, service and close parking make this place a gem of the downtown. We started off with the warm Castelvetrano olives with the lemon zest. Wonderfully warm and buttery in flavor. Also, a warm kale salad with lemon garlic vinaigrette, Parmesan crisps and a poached egg- this could be a meal in itself. Next, an old fashioned with Bulleit bourbon and a hot buttered rum. Perfectly balanced drinks. Main entree- a Duck Yeah pizza- duck confit pizza with garlic cream sauce, green onions and a house made chili crisp. The duck was awesome- tender and flavorful and crispy edges on some of the duck. In addition, the crust is nice, thin and crispy, as well. Secondly, homemade pasta with roasted beef shanks. A great dish with a tangy tomato sauce. Liberty was very busy but the service was on point and fast. Eva, our server, was very pleased and had a few moments to spend with us and talk about her homeland- Bulgaria. Parking is half a block away and the restaurant is close to the river if you want to walk around a nice part of downtown Reno.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was so cute & my parents and I had the best experience. The natural light & layout of the place is perfect, and our waitress was super helpful when answering all of our questions about the menu. I ordered the kale salad (split between 3 people) & the duck pasta which was very flavorful. My dad ordered the truffle gnocchi and it had a nice rich cream sauce. I also had a homemade lemonade which was fabulous. We went back a second time a few days later & ordered the prosciutto pizza with lemon slices (amazing!!) and another kale salad, yes it's that good! I highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
I've visited liberty many times for either an after work happy hour with small bites, work dinner and brunch. I must say I have enjoyed pretty much all of the meals I've ordered from here. I feel like every dish is created with a lot of attention. If I had to choose a favorite it would be Brunch. I very much enjoy a well made eggs Benedict with a mimosa! I've always ordered their eggs Benedict with regular bacon-delish! Idk if they just recently changed up their hollandaise sauce but it wasn't as creamy or flavorful as I remember it being in the past and they also gave some type of wedge fries instead of home style potatoes. I wasn't as pleased with it this last time as in the past, such a bummer. I might just have to find a new go to food item on the menu for breakfast. It did take a minute for our server to come and take our order as well so I'm not sure if it was an off day or what was going on but it wasn't super busy in the restaurant, so atleast it was a chill atmosphere in the restaurant in a very loud downtown area. I still highly recommend this restaurant because they do dish out some other great quality meals, their bee sting pizza is a must try!
google avatar

Chuck S.

Yelp
Pro tip: if you have the Amex Gold or Platinum cards this restaurant will count towards your semi-annual Resy benefit, which is automatically credited to you even if you did not make a Resy reservation. Cool downtown vibe. It's downtown though, so you'll need to find street parking or park in a garage. We got 2 appetizers, two 3 course meals, a drink, and a toddler meal for just under $100 which seems like a decent deal for the quality of food. I really liked the salads (kale and Caesar) which were both fresh and high quality. I had the Arrabbiata and my wife had the gnocchi. I would eat here again but probably try the brunch or pizza, which both look great.
google avatar

Yelp
Pasta dishes can are so delectable and comforting when prepared properly. I ordered the Bucatini Amatriciana - Guanciale (pork cheeks), red onion, chili flake, crushed tomato, fresh herbs, with a good sprinkle of pecorino. This is is the perfect dish, yes perfect dish, for these cold winter days. It is a very well balanced hearty dish, spicy, that made me think of when I will be back for more. I paired my meal with hearty glasses of an Italian dry red blend. This is a very popular restaurant and reservatipns are definitely recommended. Service can be sketchy because staff is overwhelmed. Personally, my biggest peeve is the noise level. It is extremely noisy, but it is worth going back. I love their credo: The Exchange We exchange conversation. We exchange bites. We exchange food and wine knowledge. We exchange empty wine bottles for full ones. We exchange personalities, perspectives and stories. We believe the dinner table is where the exchange happens, where synergy builds and where we create unforgettable "fork and knife moments."

Yelp
It was my first visit let's start with appetizer I had olive they were great and the beet were great that was the first I had beets Now for my meal was steak and fries that was the worst that had for a steak that was 32 dollars and the fifties potato was good the steak was hard to chew no flavor so don't eat there steaks But the service was excellent nice place clean

Yelp
I can't believe this is my first review of Liberty Food & Wine Exchange. This is one of the better restaurants in Reno both in quality and diversity of their menu. Every time I've dined here I've left satisfied and fulfilled. For my most recent visit I went for a Sunday night dinner with the Mrs. before a concert. It was busy but not overly crowded, and we grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and friendly throughout the dinner, offering recommendations and answering my questions about the wall art, beer selection, and what mixed drinks he was making. We started with some draft beers and the Octopus Appetizer, which was delicious. We shared a salad and the Margherita pizza which was the perfect combination and completion to a nice full meal and dining experience. The wood fired pizzas are always a hit, and the salad was fresh and delicious, I'd recommend everything we ordered. I already can't wait to go back again, great dining experience and quality food, everything you can ask for on a night out!
google avatar

Cheryl L.

Yelp
It was a Sunday and Downtown Reno looked desolate. We stumbled upon this place and decided to try it. Service was great, chocolate cake was delicious. Bee sting pizza was good. I like the sweet and salty flavors. It was a cross between an Italian bistro and sports bar. Service was good, water glasses could have been filled up. Or at least a pitcher on the table could have been given so the wait staff didn't need to come over as frequently. Restrooms were clean.

Yelp
I wanted to love Liberty Food & Wine Exchange, I truly did. Unfortunately, the experience left me utterly unable to. The Old Skool Gnocchi looked and smelled delicious but the same can't be said for the taste -- while the cream sauce was tasty, the gnocchi tasted very floury which, according to Google, is an indication that an excess of flour was used and/or that the potatoes were improperly cooked. The Heirloom Tomato Salad, which I added a side of Burrata to, was better overall but could've used some more flavor. A bit of salt would've done wonders! I'm sad to say that, overall, I'm not impressed.

Yelp
Loved it. Meatballs were amazing. Ceaser salad was good but dressing was lacking a little flavor the night I went. Pizza bee sting was pretty good 8/10. Seafood Pasta delicious and homemade 9/10.

Yelp
Walked in on a Thursday around 6pm. The place was busy but they had some seats available. There was also a bar area to sit at. We were seated at a freshly cleaned table. So fresh that there was still water on it... For drinks I had the Winter Bliss and water. The water came in a glass that was refilled by our waitress throughout the night. The Winter Bliss was a non alcoholic drink that tasted like cranberry juice and lime. It was disappointing because it came in a small glass and was mostly ice. $12 for ice. I could understand if there were alcohol in it but it was non alcoholic. For food we ordered the Bee Sting and Three Little Pigs pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. They were both personal size and around $19 each. The toppings on both were extremely flavorful and fresh. The crust was light and soft. The Bee Sting had some kick to it but wasn't too spicy. The meat on the Three Little Pigs was packed with tons of flavor. I believe the meat was local as well. Overall a great experience. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I would come back again to try the pasta and brunch but would skip on the drinks filled with ice.

Yelp
We made a reservation and went to Liberty Food and Wine Exchange after trying to get in on a few occasions without a reservation. The place appears to always be busy at dinner! The restaurant is bright and open, with a nice mix of modern and classic decor. The tables are nicely placed, offering plenty of space. My only complaint (which is more of my thing) is that a large television is hanging on the wall in the front dining area...I find that a bit distracting for a nicer restaurant. The service was good, but the server seemed a bit stretched thin, given he was tending the bar and taking orders. The food was delicious and fresh. The menu was not overly extensive but did offer a nice variety for different interests and tastes. We ordered the fondu, a cheesy delight paired with a warm pretzel twist and fresh apple slices. The steak was nicely cooked, flavorful, and tender, and the pasta bolognese was fantastic, fresh, and flavorful. Would definitely return.

Yelp
The server was kind and in the end apologetic, but overall nothing could redeem our experience. This was our first time here and the reviews were very positive. We got our drinks, and then proceeded to see everyone around us get served. They said difficulties technical and otherwise were the problem, but after over an hour we decided to leave. They sent us with our order, but after trying it, it was really lackluster. The duck.... Was it confit? The whole pasta was just meh. The whole experience was sadly disappointing.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Reno! Great food at a good price point. Ate here three times during our trip. The pizza is wonderful and the fondue is to die for!

Yelp
We've always had an enjoyable time at Liberty, both for the food and the atmosphere. Imbibing and sitting inside and looking through the large windows at the 1st and Sierra cross streets is relaxing. They also have a great happy hour for food and drink. 5 stars! Stuart M

Yelp
Wonderful time here after a 5 mile walk along the river. Pizza and beer hit the spot!

Yelp
Had a fantastic celebration dinner here! We made a resy in advance and had an incredible experience. The pizzas were so tasty and very large - the pasta was so flavorful as well. Atmosphere is great as the restaurant is brand new! I highly recommend the focaccia app and pizzas as well! Cheers!

Yelp
Never disappointed with the atmosphere, service and food at Liberty! Very creative menu, best pizzas in Reno and they use locally sourced ingredients

Yelp
The food here is delicious! From the appetizers to my main course.. I got gnocchi and it was so flavorful and creamy. The meal was a bit pricey but it was well worth it, very impressed!

Yelp
The food comes closer to 4 stars, but the service here was below average. I ordered the three little pigs pizza but also got to try my friends' old skool gnocchi, black spaghetti, and pork platter. My favorite was the black spaghetti which was light but aromatic with tons of garlic and seafood flavor! Everything else was decent but on the salty and oily side, especially the pizza. When we were first were being walked to our table, I let the host know that it was one of my friend's birthday and she said she'd let the server know (I heard they do comp bday desserts). After we sat down, the server comes and tells us "by the way, did the host already let you know that this table is reserved for a birthday party at 8?" It was around 6:45PM at the time, so we asked for another open table for more time. We ordered and waited approximately 35 minutes for our food! It was already 7:45PM by the time we got our food, so I'm not sure why they expected us to finish our meal by 8PM at the original table. We waited very long to flag a server down for the check, so long that my friend just decided to go up to the register and ask. The place itself had a bar typa vibe with lots of pig paintings and frames. It could be been a nice spot for a pleasant dinner, but the service made it very mediocre.

Yelp
Liberty Food & Wine Exchange is a downtown gem with delicious, rich food and great options for vegan and gluten-free eaters. The interior is spacious and inviting, making it just as perfect for a casual meal as for a special night out.

Yelp
Had a mini vacation with the wife and stopped by Reno. I had been craving a good woodfired thin crust pizza and after browsing Yelp found Liberty and bruh.....so happy that I did. Or should I say my wife did. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices...maybe it's because I'm used to stupid CA prices but everything was reasonable, even at full menu price. We didn't know it was happy hour, but this allowed us to try a couple things that I wouldn't have otherwise. The Happy Hour meatballs come with 4 meatballs....more than enough for 2 people. I was surprised by the size for only $6. The marinara appeared to be scratch made and not from a jar. The Cesar had real cheese, not those plastic parmesean sticks you normally see.....and an actual anchovy! I wish they would have chopped it up and mixed it in, but I digress. I get it some people might be like "EWWWWWW CESAR THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MADE AND SERVED?! I WOULD NEVER!" Anyway, the wife got the gnocchi with her pre-fixe option. It was creamy and filling. Very filling. A good sizeable portion. She selected the Budino for dessert, which is pudding. Had ore crumble to add texture and caramel for some additional sweetness. Would recommend. I had the pizza l and it was probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a VERY long time. The bee sting is actually spicy and definitely a winner if you're into it. Topped with Serrano, not weak jalapeños, puts it on another tier. The honey adds a nice sweetness that balances it out. Service was very good and attentive. The parking at the garage across the street is validated for 2 hours. I would come out of my way again to dine here....wife agrees next time we stay in Tahoe we would drive out just to eat here.

Yelp
YUM! Date night brought us here, and we had the pappardelle and the gnocchi for a balance of rich and savory. Both were delicious, but completely opposite! Fast service, some fun mocktails on the menu, and a great selection of tap beers as well. The only bummer was we got sat right by the door and it was COLD every time it opened--maybe avoid that table if you can but get ready for a great meal!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Reno. The food is so good and the menu has a good variety of unique dishes across different cuisines, such as pizza, pasta, and meat entree dishes. My previous review still holds true in all aspects. You can easily make a reservation online (often times same day reservations are available). Parking is easy as the lot is across the street and parking is validated by the restaurant. Only complaint this time around was the amount of times we were asked if we wanted a drink. We went with waters, but I was offered a cocktail menu and asked by the waiter at every visit to the table if I'd changed my mind on drinks. I'm not exaggerating, I think we were asked at least 4-5 times. It felt like we were being pressured. Other than that, the food was great. We got the Burrata appetizer and two pizzas: the carbonara pizza and the bee sting. The carbonara pizza is by far our favorite! Seems like the Burrata appetizer has changed a bit since I last ordered it, but still good. We ended with a delicious cast iron chocolate lava cake. It was the perfect size for an after dinner treat. Yum!

Yelp
I was exploring downtown and stopped by the Patagonia Oultet ( a Must). I wanted something fresh and authentic and boy did this hit the spot. I enjoyed the Kale Salad- so flavorful and the Parmesan crisps gave it the perfect crunch. The Arrabbiata was fresh with a little Sicilian kick. A great list of wines and food items - from flatbread , pizza , weekend specials and wood fires entrees. The Caramel Budino was so worth it !! Outstanding and a must next time you're in Reno. Ask for Cody - what a great server !

Yelp
Been here for brunch and happy hour recently. Brunch is okay but the options are somewhat underwhelming. I came in because the chicken and waffles sounded amazing but my friends got it so I decided against ordering that and going for what I love, which is shakshuka. Great meal but when trying the chicken and waffles, it was definitely a let down. Glad I went with what I chose. There is a Starter here that I really love because it's delicious and good for the body called the Wood Roasted Beets. I know, "beets tastes like dirt" but these do not. These taste heavenly, especially paired with goat cheese. Yum! The happy hour here is unheard of prices and what a happy hour should be. Monday - Friday 4-6pm. A $14 bee sting pizza is my weakness. Also, draft beer, well drinks and house wine for $5?! Sign. Me. Up! The bartender, Michael, is phenomenal and goes above and beyond in service and is very personable. Just another reason to come back. Which, I know I will be. Ciao for now!

Yelp
It was so good for so many years. It's not anymore. Sat at the bar this evening and the bartender wouldn't give us the time of day. Had kind of an attitude. The server had so many tables she tried but just couldn't keep up with the bar and the tables. We felt bad for her. Might not come back. Yikes n

Yelp
This place has a very diverse menu and after 5-6 visits, I think it's all very good. Seafood, pasta, pizza, steaks, and great salads. All of it top notch. And a great wine list. The bartender, Michael, is a pro who knows his stuff. If you're in downtown Reno, this place is a no-brainer. Nice atmosphere and free structure parking across the street with validation. Go to Liberty. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Once again the food does not disappoint! Such yummy and fresh tasting items! One minor thing, i asked if the mango margaritas can be made without the jalapeno which she said yes. However, when it came i could still tasted of jalapeno and it had a some heat. I asked in which she said it was pre batched she just told them not to add extra. I was able to drink it, but a little concerning as it could have been an allergy vs. just a dislike for the flavor. I wish she would have been upfront to begin with saying there still may be some flavor due to being prebatched.
