French-inspired brasserie at the Century Plaza Hotel featuring vintage decor.
"Do you ever need to go out of your way for a $16 bowl of soup? If it’s the French onion soup at Lumiere, the answer is yes. The upscale brasserie on the ground floor of the Fairmont Century Plaza is an all-around solid French restaurant and a great spot for a client lunch—a major necessity in an area like Century City. But it’s the soup that’s worth ducking out of your noon meeting early to experience. A gooey, half-inch layer of aged gruyere cover a light onion-filled broth with hunks of bread. One bowl is substantial enough to count as your meal, but if you want to balance your lunch with something green, try the surprisingly hefty tuna nicoise." - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore
"For upscale French food, head to Lumière at the Fairmont Century Plaza. The menu leans mainly on classics including steak or salmon tartare, raclette, mushroom gratin, and steak frites. Reflective of its hotel surroundings, the dining room is classy without being overstated and provides a perfect backdrop for a fine French meal at any time of the day." - Rebecca Roland, Eater Staff

"Nestled inside the Fairmont Century Plaza, Lumière is a relaxed brasserie-styled spot for French-inspired cooking. Friendly staff are on hand to offer guidance and share their favorite selections, but you'll certainly want to indulge in a variety of classics like fruits de mer and steak frites, if only for the delicious fries. Start things off right by ordering the velvety chicken liver mousse served with an olive jam, or sample the Bayonne, Fermin Iberico or five year-aged Iberico hams from the charcuterie menu. Seared sea bass is plated with a delicious onion soubise for a pleasing main dish. Then for dessert, you'll never go wrong with crème brûlée with its pure vanilla flavor and nutty caramelized crust." - Michelin Inspector
