Marrow On The Go

The smashburger itself was very good; juicy, well cooked, and flavorful but for the price, it didn’t quite feel worth it. I get that it’s Birmingham and that comes with higher prices, but $28.55 for a small burger, fries, and a Coke is still hard to justify. The fries were extremely salty, but they were also very crispy and clearly fresh. The space is cute and works well for a quick bite, though parking can be a bit of a hassle. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Overall, good food and a nice concept, just a bit overpriced for what you get.

Excellent food and service, but pricey. I've been to their primary location several times over the years and never had a bad meal there. I'm glad I finally made it to Marrow On The Go. I'd definitely get the smashburger again. It's hard to find a better burger in Detroit. Their Kerch sauce is magnificant. I probably wouldn't get the grilled cheese again. It was good but very basic for $10.

This is the perfect place. Attention to detail spreads to every aspect of the place, from food to aesthetics. They even sell fresh butcher shop meats, which we of course bought as well.

After 5 or 6 visits getting the burger. It's dry. $20 is fine if the burger is good but it's really not. It's cool they cook their fries in tallow but they don't know how, so they're dry as well. The staff always seem tired. Also it bugs me that they definitely take some type of health aim with the tallow and selling (outrageously overpriced) seed oil free products but don't keep it consistent with their menu offerings. Non grass fed patties, seed oil sauce, etc. You can get a better burger without leaving Birmingham. Luxe or Terra.

Visit 1- obsessed. Told everyone I know to try this burger and ranked it in the top 3 burgers in all of Detroit. It was heavenly. The staff were welcoming and kind. Visit 2- 2 very underwhelming and overcooked burgers. 1 bone dry, effortless kids burger (with no sauce or lettuce, which I specifically asked for when I called to order.) Dry, stale tallow fries. It’s a shame because the potential to be great is there, and maybe just an inconsistency in staff training? But when I’m spending $60+ on carry out - there won’t be a 3rd visit.

We finally tried Marrow On The Go today. We’ve been going to Marrow for years and we love the smash burger. Unfortunately the burger at on the go isn’t the same. It was a little dryer and all three of us noted a weird aftertaste, kind of metallic but mostly just a bitter taste. We will stick to the Detroit location from now on.

Had an amazing lunch at Marrow! I ordered the Reuben sandwich and my friend ordered the salad with steak tips. Both meals were amazing, it was their second day open and the staff were absolutely on top of it. The food was delicious, it’s the best Reuben I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back and try the smash burger and the breakfast sandwich! They have a pretty large selection of meats at the butcher counter and pre-packaged foods available as well. I grabbed some farm fresh eggs, dog bones, and wine on my way out the door. The wine selection is really great with a good range of pricing, and they order it from full body to lighter so it’s easier to make a selection. I highly recommend this spot for lunch and/or to grab groceries, meat, wine, etc after work! Looking forward to being a regular!

Stopped for lunch, the burger is always a favorite but I tried the smoked turkey sandwich today and it was delicious!!! Also grabbed a couple of steaks for the grill. Oh and those fries 🔥🔥🔥

I am a big fan and regular patron of the Marrow location on Kercheval and was extremely excited to see them open the Birmingham location. Excited to have another pasture raised butcher shop in the area. Had the Smoked Ham sandwich that had a great mix of flavors. The Smashed Burger was also very tasty. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. All the meats cuts look good with great marbling. Looking forward to grabbing some next weekend! Good luck on your new location!

Pretty exciting to see Marrow in the burbs! Though not in its full glory, it's still titillating to see them slang their infamous smash burgers and plenty of intriguing creations in their more casual vibe new digs. Gotta, gotta, gotta have their double smash burger, no questions asked. Fantastically melt in your mouth, though the seasoned griddles over at the OG Marrow in the West Village definitely leave a tastier imprint on their delectable custom blend of beef. Cant wait to try some new new next time!

Ordered the breakfast sandwich and it is worth the hype!! The sandwich is $10 and is $4 to add sausage. Not totally clear from the picture but it was a gigantic piece of sausage. I would not think to include pimento cheese on a breakfast sandwich but it's a perfect match. They also have a cute little bar seating area at the front and some tables in the back if you want to eat there!
