Multilevel bistro serving New American fare, beer & cocktails in a chic converted-warehouse space.
"Milk & Honey's Cascade location is in a shopping center, which works in the DC transplant's favor—the big, flower-covered step and repeat outside the entrance stands out boldly enough to lure you away from mundane tasks and into the all-day brunch spot. The inside isn’t as showy and gives classic neighborhood diner vibes, with a few small tables and a larger outdoor patio that invites you to pull up to an iron table and take your time processing the vast menu. You'll find seafood options from crab cakes to seafood hash and a lobster gumbo pot pie, but we really come here for the waffles. If you can’t commit to taking one down on your own, we highly recommend sharing the original cinnamon-infused, the red velvet, or the key lime waffle, or get a combo of two flavors if you're torn." - Nina Reeder
"Chef Sammy Davis’s soul food chain Milk & Honey took over in early 2020 but closed during the depths of the pandemic." - Tierney Plumb
"Milk and Honey is the brainchild of chef Sammy Davis, a former “Chopped: Redemption” winner whose all-day brunch-themed restaurant has locations on H Street NE; in College Park, Maryland; and in Atlanta. Entrees such as the deep fried salmon hash are comforting on brisk winter days, with a generously-sized portion of fish that’s crisp and well-seasoned on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside." - Stephanie Williams
"This soul food brunch chain from College Park has added a location on H Street NE and another outpost in Atlanta. Chef Sammy Davis serves honey butter biscuits, deep-fried strawberry shortcake biscuits, and a fried lobster tail, egg, and cheese sandwich on a biscuit. Customers can order takeout from the H Street location online, and dine-in service resumes Tuesday, October 6. — G.H." - Tim Ebner
"In January, Milk & Honey will take over the space at 1245 H Street NE, expanding the reach of a fast-growing Maryland soul food restaurant that’s built on popular breakfast, brunch, and bar menus while expanding to D.C. and Atlanta. Chef Sammy Davis, an alum of Nobu in New York who impressed on Food Network, first opened Milk & Honey Cafe in College Park and Bowie, Maryland. He debuted his first D.C. restaurant, short-lived Catch 22, on Georgia Avenue NW in October 2018, then rebranded it as the Bar @ Milk & Honey in July. A spokesperson tells Eater that Milk & Honey is “growing up” by adding “formal lunch” and dinner items at its newest location. A large, three-level layout will help accommodate the bigger groups and private events. The Bar @ Milk & Honey sells shrimp and grits, deep fried salmon hash, and a seafood burger croissant that’s served all-day alongside deep fried biscuits and wings, various breakfast sandwiches, and Belgian waffles. Cocktails include a Flamin’ Hot bloody mary inspired by the Cheetos flavor and a super potent “Shark Bite.”" - Tierney Plumb
