Nestled in the heart of midtown Manhattan, Nomad Diner is a culinary haven where classic comfort meets innovative flair. It is a place to stop by day or night for food and drink inspired by the city's rich culinary history, featuring an elevated take on established favorites.
"Nowadays, a hotel dining room is not afraid to call itself a diner, like this combination bar and all-day restaurant off the lobby of the Arlo Hotel. The bewildering menu runs from the commonplace, like matzo ball soup and patty melt, to more unusual items like vegan sausage biscuits and gravy, and hot dogs with kimchi and kewpie mayo." - Melissa McCart, Robert Sietsema
"Traipse through the lobby of the new Arlo Hotel to find this hidden diner and bar. Among many reconfigured diner classics, find the Arlo dog, topped with finely chopped kimchee, crisp fried shallots, and thick Kewpie mayo on (what else?) a brioche bun. The ingredients work in concert to produce a gloppy and sharp tasting frank experience." - Robert Sietsema
"Located in the Arlo NoMad hotel, NoMad Diner has vintage looking stools, breakfast, and an all-day menu inspired by various New York City cuisines, with things like panisse french toast sticks, a hot dog with kimchi, and spaetzle mac and cheese. They also have a cocktail menu with a few interesting signature drinks." - will hartman
"Let’s make one thing clear: We weren't thrilled about the prospect of spending $15 on a hot dog. But we're very happy we did—and we'll gladly do it again. The Arlo Dog at NoMad Diner (a fancy-pants new-school diner, tucked inside the lobby of the Arlo NoMad Hotel) is delicious enough to justify the price. It's served with kimchi and kewpie mayo on a buttery brioche bun, but our favorite part is the crispy fried shallots on top." - bryan kim, willa moore, sonal shah, molly fitzpatrick
"NoMad Diner is a diner in the same way that a creative director in Carhartt work pants is licensed to operate a backhoe. And we're here for their gussied-up takes on classic Americana dishes in a mirror-accented space inside the Arlo NoMad Hotel lobby. The deviled eggs arrive bejeweled with trout roe on a dainty paper doily, the spaetzle mac and cheese can be upgraded with duck confit, and if you needed any more proof that this wasn’t your average mom-and-pop luncheonette, consider that a Diet Coke will run you $5 here—sorry, no free refills. Breakfast isn’t too exciting (this is a hotel restaurant, after all), but the cocktail menu is fun. Stop in after work for drinks with a friend, then split the disco fries and, most importantly, the Arlo Dog. The only thing more surreal than a $15 hot dog is a $15 hot dog we’d gladly order again. Food Rundown photo credit: NoMad Diner Drinks We especially like the parmesan-infused dirty martini called Mack The Knife, and the Green Door, a theoretically pistachio-flavored cocktail that in practice tastes so much like a key lime pie we wish we had a graham cracker chaser. photo credit: NoMad Diner Disco Fries The disco fries are more like contemporary-jazz fries, reimagined with gournay cheese and loaded with chives. Surprisingly crispy and—we can’t believe we’re saying this—light. photo credit: NoMad Diner Arlo Dog Served with an avalanche of crispy fried shallots, kimchi, and kewpie mayo on a buttery brioche bun, this pork hot dog is delicious." - Molly Fitzpatrick
