My husband and I had dinner here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. In addition to the great food, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and we had a wonderful server. We will definitely be back again.

I like the taste of original location better. This location food was bit too greasy and salty. And the pasta part tasted different from original restaurant in Laguna. Servers are very friendly. Music in the store is a bit too loud I think.

This is a great Italian restaurant. The food was top tier. I had Spaghetti allo Scoglia. It was Spaghetti with Mussels, Calamari and Clams. There was actually more seafood than Spaghetti. No complaints. My wife had Tortelli de Erbette. It was likewise excellent. For dessert we had cheesecake and cream puffs. Again both were great. There's a downside. The place is noisy and it's somewhat difficult to have a conversation.

The atmosphere is passable, but the food leaves much to be desired—just a slight step above an Olive Garden. The pasta lacks proper texture, arriving OVERCOOKED rather than al dente, and the soup was far too salty. The service was disappointing, which may be a reflection of its management. Staff were dismissive when concerns were raised, coming across as more arrogant than accommodating. What was esp frustrating was the automatic gratuity added for our party of 5—despite their menu stating this to apply for groups of 6 or more. If your server makes a mistake, they may impose a MANDATORY gratuity -it felt like an underhanded move. Overall, double-check your bill and consider dining elsewhere if you’re looking for a relaxed and RESPECTFUL experience.

My friend and I had a really good experience at Oliver’s. We picked it on a whim but was pleasantly surprised. From the beginning, we were greeted with host and walked through the restaurant to select the seating. The atmosphere was bright and pleasant. Since it was our first visit, it took us a while to decipher the menu, but we ended up selecting their daily specials. My Cioppino was excellent with lots of seafood. Four large pieces of fish, clams, mussels, scallops and countless pieces of squid. It’s rare that I could not finish the Cioppino. I would strongly recommend Oliver’s and will visit again when I am in the area.

No 1. Italian restaurant in Orange County. Every Thursday night dinner time... Rimonchello. Wine. Sometimes whisky... wonderful. My bartender is always Luca who is from Florence Italy. I feel Italia in here. Branzino fish, Hellribut fish. Lasagna. Pasta everything wonderful. !!! Bona Sera !!!

Overview: Nestled in the Quail Hill Shopping Center in Irvine, Oliver’s Trattoria is a delightful Italian eatery that brings the flavors of Emilia-Romagna to life with a contemporary twist. From homemade pasta and wood-fired pizza to classic Italian specialties, the restaurant delivers an inviting and versatile dining experience for families and food enthusiasts alike. Its relaxed atmosphere, combined with exceptional service and a commitment to catering to dietary needs, makes Oliver’s Trattoria a standout in the local dining scene. Ambiance and Atmosphere: The moment you step into Oliver’s Trattoria, you’re embraced by its warm and welcoming ambiance. The inviting glass-wrapped patio overlooking a serene fountain adds an extra touch of charm, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal. The space strikes a balance between vibrant and cozy, ensuring diners feel comfortable whether they’re celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a casual lunch. Service: The service at Oliver’s is nothing short of extraordinary. The owner greeted us personally and continued to check on us throughout our meal, making us feel truly valued and cared for. His humor and attentiveness set the tone for a memorable dining experience, showing the kind of hospitality that keeps guests coming back. Menu Highlights: Oliver’s Trattoria offers a thoughtful menu that caters to a wide range of preferences and dietary needs, including gluten-free and vegan options. My Wife’s Dish: The restaurant exceeded our expectations by crafting a gluten-free vegan pizza that was both flavorful and satisfying—no small feat given the challenges of accommodating such restrictions. My wife, who rarely finds meals that meet her needs so well, was thrilled to return for a second visit in two days. My Son’s Dish: The Margherita pizza was a hit with my son, who finished every bite—a rare occurrence and a testament to its quality. My Daughter’s Dish: The plain pasta, her usual favorite, was simple yet perfectly prepared, earning her stamp of approval. My Dish: I opted for the lamb chops, which were flavorful but slightly underwhelming. The portion size could have been more generous, and the cooking did not match my medium-rare request. While the dish was enjoyable overall, it fell short of the high standard set by the rest of the meal. Final Thoughts Oliver’s Trattoria delivers on many fronts: excellent food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere. While my dish left room for improvement, the overall experience was undeniably positive, especially given their exceptional ability to cater to gluten-free and vegan diets without compromising on flavor. This family-friendly restaurant has something for everyone, and the personalized touch from the staff and owner elevates it to a must-visit destination for Italian cuisine in Irvine. Rating: 9.5/10 Would highly recommend for its exceptional service, inclusive menu, and charming ambiance.

Yelp
So happy I got to eat here. First of all, the place is gorgeous. I really love the decor. Outdoor and indoor seating are both very nice. The place is beautiful and very clean. Second, our waiter Victor was fabulous. Very kind and patient and explained the menu well. Very attentive too. He's wonderful so 5 stars for him. The food was delicious. The starter bread with the olive dip was so delicious. I wanted to keep eating it. The bread is super soft and the olive oil was top notch. I got the Tortelli di Erbette which was delicious. It's yummy and also not super heavy because it has the sage and the butter and maybe like a hint of lemon or something? It has chard in it which feels like the elevated spinach if you know what I mean... alongside actual spinach, goat cheese, and ricotta. I thought it was super great as a lunch item. And the pizza was super solid. I like a good looking pizza and this pizza is a good looking pizza. Authentic and I made sure to get it with the buffalo mozzarella because that's even better. Great thin crust. My mom got the calamari and as you can see, you get a pretty big portion. Anywho, if you want to go here, I'd say you should. The food's good. The ambiance is fabulous. And since this location is not Laguna Beach, you have plenty of parking!

Yelp
We happened upon this place while in the area during lunchtime. They make you feel welcome the minute you walk through the door. We were seated at a lovely table with a view of the whole place. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the various items on the menu. He explained what was in dishes we asked about. I ended up getting the filetto di branzino acqua pazza. It was heavenly. I could have licked the plate. I asked if it could be made gf, since they didn't have a separate gf menu. I can't remember what my husband ordered but it was equally delicious. They also have gf pizza crust, which is what I originally went there for the pizza. We ended up getting their panna cotta Al limoncello for dessert. Oh my gosh, it was amazing. The waiter said it reminded him of key lime pie. It was worth the indulgence. While this place is on the pricier side for a quick lunch, it turned into more of a European experience. We relaxed and enjoyed it all. I'm just sorry I didn't take any pictures but the ones on their website are accurate. I hope to be in the area again so I can try their pizza

Yelp
So I've been to their sister location Oliver's Osteria in Laguna Beach and that place is amazing. You have to really try one of their Chef's Table experiences......but let's talk about Oliver's Trattoria. Oliver's Trattoria did not disappoint. It's just as beautiful, with the same authentic charm and attention to detail. The food was delicious, clearly the same level of care and culinary excellence that Oliver's is known for. So glad to have discovered both locations. Two gems, same heart. I'll definitely be back to both!

Yelp
The broccolini and chicken breast side dishes were both ordered via GrubHub and were mostly okay, with a nice lemon wedge to go with each of them, but they forgot to include napkins and utensils with the order so it was an absolute disaster trying to eat the food at my workplace. What's more, after I wrote about this experience on GrubHub, they stopped offering delivery orders via GrubHub and only accept pickup orders. So, instead of training their staff, they just make it harder for things to go wrong by doing less things and not letting customers try their menu items unless they physically are able to go to the restaurant.

Yelp
Not to be dramatic, but the Strozzapreti alla Norcina e Tartufo Nero at Oliver's Trattoria was kind of life changing. THE MOOD: Hubby and I went to Oliver's for a date night and it's now our new favorite date spot. When you walk in, the restaurant just feels elegant and romantic. You are able to see the bar area right as you walk in and it is beautifully lit up and inviting. There is plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating where it has an open concept. There's also a private room you can rent out that is just as elegantly decorated. It was also fun seeing the pastas being handmade as we walked in. The ambiance in the restaurant overall is warm and inviting and decor feels elevated and fresh. Definitely a great spot for a date night or special occasion. I would say this is also probably a good spot for business meetings. THE FOOD: As soon as you sit down, you are given warm focaccia bread and this delightful olive spread. *Cocktails: For drinks we got the Aperol Spritz, Limone & Fragola, and Hugo Spritz. All were deliciously mixed and my favorite was the Hugo Spritz. If you like moscato, this was very reminiscent of that. *Anguria e Caprino: This is a watermelon salad and the watermelon comes out balled with goat cheese and lemon dressing. It was a hot day and this was such a delicious light refreshing dish. *Cantaloupe, Prosciutto, and Cheese: This was also a very light refreshing dish. The cantaloupe was really sweet and the sharpness of the cheese and smokiness of the prosciutto was a nice blend of flavors. *Polipo: If you like octopus like I do, you will love this dish. If I ever see octopus on a menu, I'm usually getting that dish - something about those tentacles that are just so fun to eat. This one did not disappoint - the octopus was perfectly cooked where the texture was both tender and crispy. *Speck e Funghi: This pizza comes with smoked prosciutto, mozzarella, gorgonzola, mushrooms, basil, and parmigiano. I love mushroom pizzas and they were super generous with their tasty mushrooms. Their pizzas had the perfect chew and thickness to it. Hubby doesn't usually like mushrooms, but he couldn't stop talking about this pizza and how he now wants to try every pizza on their menu. *Spaghetti allo Scoglio: This is a seafood pasta. It comes with calamari, clams, mussels, and shrimp in a tomato sauce, white wine sauce and garlic. We loved the seafood taste in every bite - the manager suggested we also crush some black pepper over it and honestly, it brought out the wonderful flavors even more. * Strozzapreti alla Norcina e Tartufo Nero: This is a handmade strozzapreti pasta with a parmigiano cream sauce and includes sausages, mushrooms, and shaved truffles. The chew to the pasta was so perfectly cooked. The pasta shape also picked up all the wonderful flavors of the creamy/mushroomy flavor and the truffles that topped it off made each bite heavenly. This pasta was probably one of my favorite things to have eaten in a long time. We had leftovers that we took home and I was desperately finding things around the house the next day to scrape up the remaining sauce - don't judge my life :) *Branzino al Sale: If you want some entertainment while you eat, you need to get the branzino. Its sea bass basked in a sea salt crust, lemon, EVOO, and fresh herbs. They roll it out on a table and set it on fire table side, carve it up, and beautifully plate it for you. The sea bass was so flaky and tender and the flavors of the fish were brought out by sea salt crust. *Desserts: For desserts, we tried Tiramisu, Creme Brûlée, and the Bigne. Not to be dramatic again, but their tiramisu is probably the best I've ever had. It just had the perfect amount of espresso soaked cake and their mascarpone cream was just so light, fluffy, and cloud like and the cocoa was a wonderful addition to tie this whole dessert together. THE 'TUDE: Everyone from the hostess, wait staff, and manager operated so professionally. My parents used to own a restaurant so I usually pay particular attention to how restaurant staff moves out of habit. I just noticed that everyone was so professional and nice - it really made this dining experience even more special. You can tell there were happy return customers because as we ate, the manager would greet those guests and ask "you want the usual?" Service alone usually is the determining factor of whether Hubby and I will return to a restaurant and this one is on point! OVERALL: Overall, we loved the romantic vibes, the EXCEPTIONAL food (I see you strozzapreti), and wonderful service, we will definitely be back!

Yelp
We reserved this place for our d graduation. We chose this place because they are so easy to work with. We had a party of 30 people. Most restaurants i inquired want min amount and required reserved a private room which will cost $5000. We discussed everything via email. Originally he seated us outside patio, but we asked if possible to sit inside. He made it work for us. We got half of the semi private area. Luckily it was on Monday, not a lot of people. I already pretty much pre order everything via email, prepaid a small deposit. We ended up ordered more and take to go as well ..lol Price slight changed when I was about to pay the rest . I'm not quiet pleased with that. But what can I do. Just an FYI. Parking: plenty free shared retail parking. It is also why I chose this place so our guests can find parking easily.

Yelp
Amazing, attentive service. Our waiter was the best and was checking in often to make sure we got our entrees, immediately following our salad appetizer. Beautiful ambiance, dim light. Perfect for a romantic night out. I was there to celebrate my friend's birthday and they made it extra special by bringing her a complimentary panna cotta. The salad was amazing, I loved my glass of moscato. My spaghetti could have used a bit more flavor and the dessert I got with pistachio was not the best. I'll definitely order a different dish next time.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and they absolutely crushed it. The vibes, service, and food were perfect. I've been to the Laguna location and this one has a more modern and nicer ambiance. The food was almost identical and perfect like the first location. I've never had a menu item from either locations that's I did not like. I'm always so impressed with their consistency, quality of food, and ingredients. You can never go wrong with any of their pastas as those are their best menu items in my opinion. Most of their truffle menu items are really well made and balanced as well. One down side to this location is they do not have the fried squash blossoms that the Laguna location has. Those are my absolute favorite appetizer from them.

Yelp
My wife and I absolutely loved this restaurant. Located in plaza with tons of parking this restaurant has a beautiful exterior and interior. Inside is open in airy with live plants and water fountains. Seating was very comfortable. I wish I got his name but I assume the manager, or maybe the most enthusiastic server I have ever seen, pretty much waited on the entire restaurant. The guy was somehow flawless taking orders, making cocktails, bringing out food, clearing tables, and being personable to everyone. He didn't miss a beat and really made the experience extra enjoyable. While reviewing the menu we were brought fluffy as a cloud freshly baked focaccia with tapenade. It was so good we ate two plates of it. To drink my wife had "Erik's Old Fashioned" which added amaretto to the classic. I had the "Forbidden Old Fashioned" which has secret ingredients. Seemed slightly floral . Whatever it was it was delicious and heavy poured. I wanted to try a negroni next but I knew it wouldn't be safe to drive! For entree I had the Salamino pizza with Mozzarella Fior di Latte, tomato sauce, spicy soppressata salame, basil, Parmigiano, and evoo. It looked and smelled heavenly and the flavor matched. I haven't had pizza in ages so I devoured it like a hungry wolf and loved every bite. My wife had the Homemade potato gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce, delicata squash, and walnuts. These were giant fluffy gnocchi and made to order. My wife loved the dish and I was blown away by the bite I took Amazing place and I cannot wait to return! Next time I will try one of their seafood dishes.

Yelp
The food is amazing here. The restaurant itself is spacious and very elegant. The pasta with meat sauce was tasty and delicious. You might ask why the one star deduction? It is because of the loud and weird manager of this place the day that visited there. He would come to the table and start talking none stop about how amazing he is and everything. Honestly I understand being friendly with your guests, but being too friendly is kind of weird. Just saying!

Yelp
I came here with my husband and we ordered the polpette (meatballs), caprese & burrata and insalata. We split everything and we were planning on splitting an entree but we were too full. The polpette was very delicate, not too dense or overdone. I originally thought the caprese was overpriced when I read the menu, but the quality of the tomatoes were great. They were perfectly ripe and still firm and full of flavor. The insalata was a really big portion. It's definitely enough to split. The service was incredible! I think our server's name was Mark. I like sitting on the back patio best, but there is also a covered patio if it's too sunny. They are dog friendly. We used to come to this location often for brunch or dinner when it was still Two Left Forks. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
This was some of the best pasta and pizza I've ever had in my life. Highly recommend the fungi and margarita pizza, and the Strozzapreti alla Norcian e Tartufo Nero. The pizza's dough is extremely chewy and the sauce and toppings are so well balanced. The Strozzapreti alla Norcian e Tartufo Nero is pricey but honestly worth every penny! The noodle texture is SOOOO good. The noodles are bouncy and the flavor of the sauce is delectable. I promise you will not regret it. We enjoyed our time due to the wonderful service of Victor. You will be lucky to have him as your server. Enjoy your next Italian night out at the wonderful Oliver's Trattoria.

Yelp
Italian restaurant in Irvine with beautiful covered patio seating. I was looking for a dog friendly restaurant for a nice dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. Complimentary focaccia and olive dip was brought to us while we decided what to enjoy. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. Calamari Fritti-perfectly fried, light and crisp calamari rings and tentacles. Love that they included shrimp and zucchini. Tagliatelle alla Bolognese-homemade tagliatelle with bolognese sauce. Loved the meaty hearty sauce with these wider noodles. Tagliolini Mare e Monti-my favorite dish! The texture of these noodles was perfectly firm. Porcini and shiitake mushrooms with shrimp in a white wine garlic sauce was delicious! Margherita-love a simple well made margherita pizza. The crust was light with a nice chew. Halibut-the only disappointment of the night. I found the halibut to be overcooked to my liking. Profiteroles al Pistachio-we enjoyed these profiteroles which were filled with a pistachio custard and covered in chocolate ganache. Great restaurant with delicious food and a beautiful patio. I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
I cannot recommend this restaurant. First off, for the food, we ordered the Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe, Tagliolini al Limone, and the Margherita Pizza. The Cacio e Pepe was alright because the sauce wasn't the best, but it also wasn't the worst 2.5/5, I wouldn't recommend it in terms of white sauce pasta. If you like white sauce, the Limone was better, we enjoyed the sauce much more 3.5/5. The pizza was the best of the three 4/5. None of the dishes came with protein. ONE of my problems was that while my partner and I were trying to enjoy our food, we noticed that a man came in with his two kids. According to the menu (named after the owner's son, Oliver), I thought he was likely one of the owners (he called out his son's name and there was a picture of the chef in the menu). The kids were quite disruptive, walking on the booth chairs and running around the restaurant, with the staff repeatedly telling them to stop. I get it, they're children, and that's fine, but I found it unprofessional to just let children step on seats, especially at this type of restaurant. But that's not my main concern. What truly bothered me was that after the older boy kicked his little sister in the knee, she was visibly upset and started chasing him around. The man grabbed the girl and proceeded to hit her a couple of times, saying they were being embarrassing. I was appalled by what I saw, and frankly, my mood was ruined. I couldn't finish my food. Seeing a small child hit like that was very upsetting, especially when I saw that it was not her fault. To see a child hit in the middle of the restaurant felt extremely unprofessional and made me feel sick. I will not be coming back here, nor will I recommend this place to any of my friends. edit: I can't say for sure that the man is the owner of the restaurant, but he and staff were talking to each other, and he never ordered anything/ate there. According to the menu, the restaurant is named after the owner's son, Oliver, so I thought he was likely one of the owners.

Yelp
whenever we go to italian spots, we always have to get the bolognese and margherita pizza -- and oliver's did not disappoint. both were so good, super flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. service was really good too -- friendly and attentive without being overbearing. the whole vibe of the restaurant was perfect, whether you're coming for a cozy date night or a nice family dinner. definitely a new favorite!

Yelp
We had such a fantastic evening here tonight! Everything was great. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile by the hostess, who quickly found our reservation and sat us in a corner booth. Ambiance was nice... it felt very lively and the decor was clean, warm and elegant. They have a large covered patio area, indoor dining room with booth and table seating, a private room that looks to seat about a dozen people and a small bar area. Our server was Victor, who was very personable and gave great recommendations. He immediately poured waters for us and brought out some of the most delicious focaccia bread with olive dip. My husband and I each started with an Old Fashion (The Forbidden One and Erik's)... both were tasty. I got one of the specials which was a zucchini lemon ziti with shrimp and scallops... PHENOMENAL! I will be dreaming about this! My husband got the maltagliati with braised veal shoulder and my son ordered the tagliatelle bolognese... both were wonderful (although my husband liked mine better than his).

Yelp
Food: Oliver's has revamped its menu in 2025 and while I was sad to see my favorite dish go, the ones that have remained are still a solid pick. The pasta for our Tagliolini and Maltagliati were perfectly al dente and respective proteins were cooked perfectly. They provide as much bread as you can eat and the wine and dessert selections are tasteful. Service: The front check in staff have always been accommodating. We typically walk in, but this last time we made a reservation for two and were seated inside of a very nice booth even though the place was at capacity. The service checks on you often and food comes out very rapidly. Atmosphere: The main dining floor and patio are compartmentalized with their own vibe. It's still feels very classy and upscale where ever you end up. When this place gets busy there isn't a lot of available parking directly in front of the restaurant, but there is a lot of auxiliary parking on the plaza itself. All in all I highly recommend Oliver's if you are looking for Italian food, a nice date night or professional place to have dinner.

Yelp
My new favorite Italian restaurant! They make their own pasta using flour from Italy so it doesn't have the same irritating gluten that wheat flour grown/processed in the US has. We had a couple of salads (arugula w/watermelon, beet salad), calamari (lightly battered, crispy & tender) and pasta cacio y pepe (al dente, yummy). Nice wine and cocktail selections.

Yelp
Oliver's Trattoria is an upscale Italian restaurant, located at the Quail Hill shopping plaza. The interior is bright, airy and reminded me of a Tuscan villa. Complimentary bread with an olive oil with diced green olives is provided. I stopped by for a weekday lunch with my brother. Polpette ($24) - This dish came with 4 beef tenderloin meatballs stuffed with taleggio cheese and served with an arrabbiata sauce and green peas. The meatballs had wonderful flavor and were so tender and juicy, although I felt this dish was pricey given the quantity. Branzino ($30) - This dish consisted of Mediterranean seabass filet roasted with cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, garlic and fingerling potatoes. The fish was light, tender and had great taste. Gelato ($16 for 2 scoops) - We opted for pistachio gelato, it was nutty, and not as creamy as I had hoped for but still not bad, just ok. Overall I felt pricing is on the high side here, especially for the appetizers and desserts. Service was painstakingly slow here and our server seemed indifferent and not friendly unfortunately. Even though we ordered immediately, the whole lunch experience took over 2 hours from the time we ordered. However I do think the food was good.

Yelp
- A Michelin Guide resturant by Chef Erik De Marchi located inside the Quail Hill Shopping Center in Irvine, California! The ambiance is beautiful and perfect for our birthday lunch. There is also a huge indoor patio, perfect for big groups and just sitting out when the weather is nice. This restaurant is big and very accommodating. You definitely do not need to make a reservation, but also no harm if you do! - The food was delicious too! We ordered Chitarra Pomodoro & Burrata, Spaghetti allo Scoglio, Prosciutto E Burrata pizza, and Filetto di Branzino. To be honest, I would say the presentation of their dishes were not the best... The pastas did come out messy looking and just not that appetizing. They were not aesthetically pleasing and not picture worthy. But at least everything tasted good. My favorite was the Mediterranean Seabass fillet and the Prosciutto e Burrata pizza! The seabass came with well seasoned roasted potatoes and vegetables, and the broth they steamed the fish with holy shit I could slurp that up like soup. The Prosciutto e Burrata pizza was perfection. The meat wasn't too salty and the burrata was creamy but light and delicious as always. The cherry tomatoes on top were also such a great unique twist! The crust was delicious and not too oily. A perfect thin sliced pizza with no burnt bottoms! - Overall, a good choice for a nice meal out. Unfortunately, they did not do any birthday celebration for us even tho I put it in our reservation. The staff were all super nice, but just a little slow. It took them 10 minutes to get a straw for my water and they took a long time to come when we asked them to refill our water glasses. There is definitely room for improvement, but this is worth a try if you have the time.

Yelp
Service here was excellent and fast. For example, we'd move our 1st finished entree plate off to the side of the table, and a man came by, grabbed it, and asked if we had another order coming. We said yes and he changed out our utensils and plate immediately. I also messed up on my order and I asked our server a few minutes later if I could make a substitution on my order and he checked in with the chef and they all made it happen. Food and drinks were all excellent and perfectly cooked. The only thing I couldn't stand was the lemon panna cotta - the lemon curd on top was waaay too sour and bitter. The berry was much better. Misc. comments: - Located in a small and spacious plaza so parking wasn't difficult; walk was short - There's an outdoor-ish seating area but (in February) they closed it off and turned on the heaters overhead so you shouldn't be too cold anywhere you sit.

Yelp
Came for a Sunday night dinner and the service was on point. they awkwardly sat us at a small table when other couples were sat at 4 seater tables. This wouldn't really be an issue except the food we ordered couldn't fit on the table... Ordered the beef tare tare with bone marrow 5/5. Highly recommend the bone marrow gives it an extra oompf Strozzapreti alla Norcina - 4/5 truffle pasta with pork sausage. The pasta had good truffle flavor, but truffle themselves didn't. It felt like they added truffle oil to get more truffle flavor. Speck e Funghi Pizza, 3/5 - i'd skip. Pizza was mid and crust was half the pizza. Linguine Vongole - 4/5 solid amount of clams and great flavor paired with the noodles. however, the clams were pretty sandy where every other bite had a crunch. tiramisu 2/5- mid and expensive. The service here is okay, we made a reservation and were seated promptly. Our first round came fairly quick w/in 5min, but then our pastas took about 10-15min to arrive.

Yelp
Don't let the casual shopping center fool you into thinking this Italian restaurant isn't worth your visit. The food, the staff and the ambience were all very Italian. The waiters were literally speaking Italian to each other. The food was phenomenal! I'm sad it's so far away because I'd go to this place more often.

Yelp
(Restaurant responded. The host absolutely did not share the information about a private event; he was dismissive and led me to believe outdoor seating didn't exist.) What a disappointment. It's a beautiful day, heard this place might be worth a try so decided to invest my time and drive out here for outdoor dining. Upon entry I was told they have no such thing. Host honestly made me feel lowly for even asking as I politely stood there in my sun hat and sunglasses. With so many other outstanding Italian options in our community and the cold reception I received today; it's not worth coming back.

Yelp
Met up with a few girlfriends to catch up and kick off the new year. Made a reservation through OpenTable, which was easy, but it was pretty light for a weeknight. You might not need one, but best to be safe than sorry just in case. We were seated in a spacious booth seat and us girls decided to share a bunch of items. Started with water and their complementary bread with an olive tapenade. While we looked over the menu, our server walked us through all of their specials for the evening. A few items caught our attention, so our meal was pretty well rounded and hit all levels of the food pyramid. We got two appetizers to start things offs. Chose the Polpette ($26) - signature beef tenderloin meatballs stuffed with taleggio cheese, arrabbiata sauce and green peas. Super tender and buttery mouthfeel. The second item was a daily special for the evening, which included a saffron based risotto with burrata and seasonal vegetables. This was so flavorful and creamy and recommend giving these two items a try. For our mains, we moved forward with another two items. The Mortadella e Pistacchio ($28) intrigued us since we typically think of pistachio as a dessert or sweet item rather than savory. It was very interesting to say the least. Thin crust topped with mozzarella fior di latte, pistachio paste, mortadella, toasted pistachios and parmigiano gave us a mix of nutty, salty and maybe, smoky. It felt like it missing some acidity and the overall vibe was that it was nice to try but prob won't get again. The Agnello Scottadito ($48) was a hit tho! Lamb chops grilled with mint salmoriglio sauce, roasted potatoes and broccolini. We got our cooked to medium rare and it was perfection. Lastly, we couldn't leave without dessert - profiteroles & cheesecake with an almond biscotti crust and raspberry syrup. Some of the profiteroles were stuffed with different flavors such as custard, chocolate and maybe a rum or liquer. The liquer flavored ones were pretty strong haha. Can't go wrong with a cheesecake so a nice way to finish/end a meal. Overall, wonderful space and menu. Wouldn't mind coming back again to indulge in more items.

Yelp
Very prompt and attentive service. Nicely decorated interior. I ordered the roasted salmon with citrus-black garlic The salmon was well cooked and the citrus black garlic provided helped cut through the richness of the salmon. The roasted vegetables were also well done. One small suggestion is to add a bit more salt to the roasted vegetables. Overall, I will be returning again to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Ever since I went to nearby Irvine Grill and passed by Oliver's Trattoria, I've been wanting to try it. Well, just so happened that a work dinner was scheduled for here, so I guess I got that chance after all. Ordered the Polpette, Caprese & Burrata, and Polipo as appetizers. Polpette was great, really appreciated the amount of marinara it came with. Caprese & burrata was pretty heavy on tomatoes and not enough burrata, but it was still good. Polipo was actually octopus, pretty good as well. After much deliberation, I ended up going against my usual lasagna instincts and went with the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. I regretted absolutely nothing! It was everything I hoped for and more. Well-cooked noodles, a great sauce, and plenty of meat. I was more than satisfied. Service is great, no complaints from me. Really glad I had the opportunity to come here, definitely need to come back!

Yelp
Quite possibly the best Italian restaurant in Orange County, a real sleeper...I wouldn't be surprised if the chef someday could be the recipient of a Michelin star... most dishes are familiar and some are not, however, all recipes are done in the unique and appealing manner.

Yelp
A very nice Italian restaurant in the Quail Hill shopping center in Irvine. Plenty of parking, though it does get busy on weekend evenings. It was packed on Saturday evening. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly and efficient service. The food is decent. We had the calamari and 2 different pizzas. I would recommend, if you are in the area.

Yelp
Went here with my coworkers around 7pm on a Monday. It wasn't too busy. The service was amazing. Our server was a character for-sure, super funny, very honest, and helpful. We ordered a bunch to share amongst 8 people. We got 3 pizzas, 4 pastas, 4 apps, and the branzino and maybe more i can't remember. We also got some dessert sorbet and an affogato. We probably could've gone without one of each section, but honestly the sampling was so worth it. I really have nothing back to say about this place. The ambiance was nice, service was great, and the food was AMAZING. Haven't had a good italian place in awhile. This place is kind of a hidden gem? Some things that are a MUST try are the stuffed meatball appetizers, the margarita pizza or pepperoni, & the seafood pasta or the chitarra pomodoro. The branzino was soooo good too. For dessert, the affogato was actually making me feral. The drinks were average. Didnt get to try the wine, but i'm sure it's be satisfying enough. Overall we spent about $600 w no tax tip included yet for 8 people and a sh*t ton of food. We were going to order more and he said we'd be good. Good thing he told us to chill. Overall i will definitely be coming back and this is a great place for a date night, celebration, or just wanting some good italian food.

Yelp
The service here was top notch! The ambiance is lovely. The "Speck and Fungi" pizza was out of this world! The calamari appetizer was yummy too! Such a nice dinner. I wish I was in Irvine longer so I could enjoy the restaurant more often! I forgot to take a picture, but trust me, you'll love this place.

Yelp
This has become my new go to spot for fresh pasta. The interior is very open and there are very large windows. The seating is very comfortable and all of the staff is extremely friendly. You're initially served a focaccia type bread that's warm and fluffy. We tried several dishes and I have loved everything that we've tried so far. The Parmigiana di Melanzane was good, but was more cheese than eggplant. All of the pastas were cooked perfectly and were extremely flavorful. The tiramisu is on the more dense side, but had very good taste and texture to it. For the affogato, the gelato was on the icy side but the espresso was delicious. The entrees are fairly priced, but the desserts fall on the more expensive side at $16 each.

Yelp
I wish i could remember the server's name, because he's the reason i won't be coming back here!! We left a smaller tip than usual, and instead of handling it professionally, the server loudly and sarcastically said "Well, i guess it'll cover my lunch," right in front of us. It was awkward, humiliating, and completely out of line. I get that tipping is important here in the U.S. , but it's never okay for a server to call out customers like that - especially without knowing their situation, or whether the service even deserved a higher tip!! It made the entire experience uncomfortable and disappointing. The food itself was good, but that one moment soured the whole evening. Their management at Oliver's Trattoria really needs to be better train their staff on professionalism and how to treat guests with basic respect. Sadly, i dont think i'll be coming back.

Yelp
I have enjoyed many meals at the Trattoria but only recently discovered their L'Apertivo Hour [Happy Hour]. It's a great deal and the gregarious bartender not only makes excellent drinks, he provides plenty of smiles and humor too. L'Apertivo Hour is Monday thru Thursday 3:30 to 5:30. When you go, be sure to watch the professional pasta lady behind the glass enclosure while she deftly makes the daily fresh pasta. She is fascinating to watch and you will be impressed with the many machinations necessary to create perfect pasta[s].

Yelp
Please see my review dated February 10, 2025 which was an awesome Elite event.... I'll copy/paste below our food experience: For a couple that loves to cook and bake Italian dishes and desserts Oliver's left us very impressed and despite the amount of food (read: plentiful) we know that quality ingredients are used. Highlights? The lamb shank, the vegan pizza and of course the desserts! Great staff as well, helpful, informative and definitely not pushy.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best Italian food you will be finding around Irvine. I've been coming to Oliver's for my fix of pasta ever since moving here for school and never been disappointed with the quality of the food nor the service. Great place for a date or casual night out with friends.

Yelp
This is good homemade pasta served in a trendy OC restaurant. I came here with some friends for dinner. We started with some calamari - it was bit dry with a little sauce on the side. We also had the complimentary focaccia that comes with some tapenade. Although I'm not an olive fan (so tapenade is not for me), the bread tasted great (I would just like a different dipping sauce). For the main dish, I had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, which was delicious. The portion was a little small because I wanted more, but the flavor is on point and the pasta was amazing. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake topped with gelato - 10/10 in flavor, and a cappuccino - great too. BTW, I'm lacking in some of the photos because the people I was with were too eager to dig in before I couple get a pic. I will come back to try some more items.

Yelp
We enjoyed Oliver's Osteria in Laguna Beach and wanted to try this as well to see if this is a place is as good as its sister resto. The good news, it is! We enjoyed the food, service and ambiance as well. Located in a far corner of a quaint plaza in Quail Ranch in Irvine. Verdict - good, very good! Would happily go back here!

Yelp
Food was great! Definitely authentic Italian food. I didn't get to catch the name of the server, but he was very much Italian and was very good at what he does. He recommended us with great food and kept us comfortable and asked if we needed anything, and of course, got into a conversation on how Italy is like. Great place love the atmosphere not too fancy not too casual right. We got the seafood Tagliolini, squash blossoms, cacio e pepe and margherita pizza. Loved it! Comparable to the food in Italy.

Yelp
Patrons, I wanted to take a moment to update my review of Oliver's Trattoria. Since my first visit, I have had the opportunity to visit on two additional occasions and sampled a few more of their entrees. The item that I found to be exceptional is the Pollo alla Piastra. One of my favorite Italian Pollo dishes is one that is served at wonderful destination in the Napa Valley. The favorite is the Pollo alla Diavola because of its spices and moist flavor. The Pollo alla Piastra was equally memorable with the same moisture and flavor profile. It will be an entree that will be ordered time and again when visiting Oliver's Trattoria. One thing to note is that the chefs exercise TLC in its preparation and will take a few minutes longer than other dishes . . . please be patient as it will be worth the wait. Enjoy!

Yelp
It was my first time visiting Oliver's Trattoria and it was great!!! I would love to come back and try more items or even get the same things I ordered my first time. The ambiance is great and very aesthetic/cute. It did get a little loud in the main indoor area but the decor was really cute, I liked how bright it was without any harsh lighting. The service was also great. We started off with the focaccia bread, a forbidden old fashioned and espresso martini. For appetizers we got the fritto misto and crudo di hamachi. Both were really good! The fritto misto was a really big portion size for 2 people, definitely could be shared with 4. The crudo di hamachi came with a lot of toppings like sprouts, onions, and oranges. I thought the toppings took away from the hamachi just a bit but still enjoyed the appetizer. For the mains we got the truffle pizza and gnocchi a scelta (with pesto and burrata). The gnocchi is homemade and it was amazing! It was the perfect balance of chewy and soft but not mushy. The pesto was also great. Now the truffle pizza was also really good. It had some other toppings and I really liked the dough, it wasn't too thin or thick but still crunchy and chewy. For dessert we decided to get the special which was cannolis but I wasn't a big fan. The filling was a log thicker and grittier than expected. Overall the experience was great and I cant wait to go back!

Yelp
Really great service and food! Our waiter was super friendly and consistently checked on us. The ambiance is exactly what you would expect from a nice Italian restaurant. We came on a Sunday night around 7:30pm and the restaurant was about half full. We didn't have a reservation and were seated immediately for a table for two. We ordered: Pesto & burrata gnocchi 10/10: I've only had gnocchi once before and didn't like it very much, but the gnocchi here completely changed my mind! The pasta was perfectly chewy and the pesto sauce is exactly what you'd want. Margherita pizza 9.5/10: very solid Neapolitan pizza but I found the crust a bit lacking. The crust was really good with the free tapenade though, even better than with the focaccia personally. I also really liked that they cut the pizza at the table after asking if you want 4, 6, or 8 slices!

Yelp
I had such a lovely experience at this Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy your meal. The pasta was absolutely delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. For dessert, I tried the tiramisu, and it was one of the best I've had. light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. What made the evening even better was the service. Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive without being overbearing. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure we had a good time. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends! Thank you chef Erik Thank you Gio

Yelp
My nephews bar mitzvah dinner was here - great service and experience ! Came back the following Friday and had a couple drinks at the bar - met Ameera the bartender who was super nice and made a mean martini. Huge shoutout a great place for food and drinks

Yelp
Everything here is just amazing! I ordered the risotto, my bf ordered the lasagna and my friend ordered the veal. Each dish we ordered was spectacular! The calamari was delicious too, it was lightly breaded in tempura. The risotto was buttery, the lasagna was so flavorful and the veal was just so tender. We were confused in what to order for dessert, so we ended up ordering tiramisu and the chocolate cake. Everything was amazing and the service was impressive. Our server was so friendly and hilarious. Would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
Update: went back twice now and the food was back to normal and the service was great so I will chalk this up to a bad night. Glad to make this my go to again.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with such a nice ambiance. Great place for a special night out. There's nice indoor and outdoor seating. Our server Gio was spectacular! We loved him! The menu has a really great selection of authentic Italian dishes. Gio didn't recommend anything and made us pick our own food bc he said everything is delicious and he works here because it's his favorite restaurant! We tried the calamari which was perfectly lightly fried, the Branzino which had such a fun presentation! We ended with a special birthday affogato and a song from Gio! Everything was 5/5!

Yelp
Service A+ Ambience A+ Made a reservation via Open Table to celebrate birthdays. We started with the caprese & burrata and Tiramisu Espresso martinis... Something about the martinis but oh my goodness - They were incredible! I've been on the hunt for the perfect cacio e pepe since traveling to Italy, so I of course ordered that dish and the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. The Bolognese is legit! It took me straight back to Bologna. I'd come back for this and order double. Our waiter was so kind a gracious and spoke in Italian which added to the ambience of the restaurant and dinner. All in all great vibes, great people and great food. Please check out this hidden gem for some authentic Italian charm and dining.
